My family absolutley adores my slideshows I make in Pic2EXE.I have made several, at this particular time, I made a slideshow of our July 2008 family vacation. There were numerous photos of lots of activities, 2 weeks worth! It was the first time all 6 of our children and their families were in the same place at the same time. By "cheesy slideshow" I mean I use music timed to certain slides to either be poignant or funny. It takes alot of time and effort, but, I love doing it. Am I missing something ? I s there a way to view the slideshow from a certain point with the correct music for that point?My problem: The slideshow was finished, the music timing was perfect! When I burned it to a DVD, the music timing is off, sometimes by as much as 2-3 slides. What could I do to prevent this?Of a lesser importance to me, but, my viewers may feel different: Showing the slideshow on a 52" flat screen TV, stretches the photos, thus making everyone look shorter and WIDER! Is this something I need to do to my photos or is it a setting in the TV?Thank all of you for this site and for your many helpful contributions. If you are adding the music to specific slides then you need to proceed as follows:- ensure that you have "Synchronize music and slides" ticked in Project Options...Main tab- select the relevant slide in the Slide List, then add the music to that slide using the little "Add sound" icon up at the top right of the upper tool bar- finally you need to go into Project Options...Music tab - even if you are not adding any music via this route, and tick "Dont interrupt sound comment when next slide appears". If you are adding all your music via Project Options...main tab then simply proceed as follows:- ensure that you have "Synchronize music and slides" ticked in Project Options...Main tabNow that you are all set up, you can preview the sequence from any selected slide by simply clicking on the little button that sits between Preview and Video buttons on the lower tool bar.On the DVD issues, I'm afraid you are several steps ahead of me down the learning curve. I burned my second DVD this morning and have noted this problem of different aspect ratios. Ken Cox Posted August 31, 2008 Report Share Posted August 31, 2008 you might try making 2 pte shows under different names1 a 4/3 ratio and2 a 16/9 ratio showsproject options/screen/aspect ratio of a slidealso make sure tv safe zone is checkedobjects and animations/tools making 2 dvd shows under different nameswhen you get in video builder,try setting the aspect ratio to 16.9-- also make sure tv safe zone is checked in video builder as wellalso Deb make sure video builder is not set to PALken Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have had to listen to my own slideshow music over and over because to edit I had to go back and play it from the beginning each time I made any change. Lin Evans Posted September 3, 2008 Report Share Posted September 3, 2008 Hi Debi,Actually, you don't have the latest version which is 5.5 so go ahead and download that and install. No need to erase 5.0 it will create another folder and icon for 5.5.You don't set the TV safe zone in Video Builder but rather in PTE. Go to Objects and Animations screen then click on "Tools" (bottom right) then choose TV Safe Zone and the program will give you a visual indication of where the cut-off is so you can keep important information inside the boundaries.NOTE (9/3/08): Ken is absolutely right - you have the option of using the "safe zone" also for menu building to keep your text from running off the screen. So turn on Menu Builder in PTE to avoid loosing important portions of your images to the different aspect ratio and overscan of TV and turn it on in Video Builder to avoid misplacement of text and navigation buttons, etc.Best regards,LinThank you so much.
