Igor Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 We're finishing works on version 6.5 and beta version should be available very soon.Of course, the key feature of the new version virtual sound editing:- Crossfading between audio files in two clicks- Multitracks for background and personal music- Virtual editing of audio file: start time, duration, fade in, fade out, volume- Ability to add silence between audio file or delay before first audio file.- Editing is possible for all kind of audio (background music, personal music, sound comments)- Option to automatically fade out the audio on last slide.- Option to automatically reduce volume of background music during sound comments of slides.Another new feature is ability to create animated sequence of pictures from one image file (simulation of video). You prepare a series of pictures in graphical editor and put all of them into one image file, then add it to PicturesToExe and specify number of frames (columns and rows), also set time interval between frames and number of loops for animation. Please see the attached screenshot. So it will possible to insert various funny small animated pictures like animated GIF using even PNG and JPEG images. Quote

xahu34 Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 ...- Virtual editing of audio file: start time, duration, fade in, fade out, volume...What does virtual editing of volume mean: Just a global change of gain for an audio clip, or are continuous changes possible (similar to the envelope function in Audacity)?Regards,Xaver Quote
dpletts Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Both the mentioned new features are very exciting and I can hardly wait for the beta to try. Well done!Cheers!David P Quote
rogern Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 'Sounds' great! However, if you have sound on/activated by a slide, will you be able to see the waveform as you can when it is on the Project Options?ThanksRoger Quote
aplman Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Thank you so much, Igor and team. Fantastic effort, fabulous news.My special thanks for this one:Option to automatically reduce volume of background music during sound comments of slidesI will make regular use of that. I'm glad you saw the merit in my suggestion, despite the several negative comments from others.Best wishes for the next version!Ken T. Quote
Cèlou Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Many innovations expected in this new version of PTE.Whaou!! that happiness.I am bursting with impatience and I'm aching to use this program.Igor Bravo and congratulations for this constant desire to move and all for our pleasure. Quote
Igor Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 TomWill there be a possibility to record a voice track inside of PTE while watching the preview window? I was thinking of usb type microphones that are so common now.I hope yes, it's in my TODO list.XaverWhat does virtual editing of volume mean: Just a global change of gain for an audio clip, or are continuous changes possible (similar to the envelope function in Audacity)? Currently for new version we're implementing only a simple change of volume for an audio clip. I'll investigate your suggestion, thanks.Roger'Sounds' great! However, if you have sound on/activated by a slide, will you be able to see the waveform as you can when it is on the Project Options?Yes, sound comment of a slide will be visible as a waveform on the timeline. xahu34 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 ... Currently for new version we're implementing only a simple change of volume for an audio clip. I'll investigate your suggestion, thanks ...Igor,If you think of creating a soundtrack by mixing various audio sources (music clips, sounds, voices), a time dependent volume control (envelope) is indispensable. I have made such a suggestion several times, e.g. see here. Let me add the remark that some competitors (m.objects, Wings, AquaSoft) have been providing this kind of functionality for quite a long time.Best regards,Xaver Quote
Gérard de Lux Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 a time dependent volume control (envelope) is indispensable. I fully support and second Xaver on this request. Quote
Igor Posted April 22, 2010 Author Report Posted April 22, 2010 Xaver,Gérard,I agree - it is a very important feature, but regrettably we don't have time to implement it to a new version 6.5. We'll add this feature to future version 7.0. Quote
thedom Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Sound comment of a slide will be visible as a waveform on the timeline.Unfortunately, I am afraid it means we won't be able to see the background music waveform. I am right ? Quote
Igor Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 Background music described in the Project options, Music tab will be displayed on the waveforum.P.S. Beta 1 will be ready within a week. Quote
