PTE AV Studio crashes on Apple Silicon under macOS 14 Sonoma [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, Thanks for your patience. We've fixed freezing issue on Macs with Apple M1/M2 chips running macOS 14 Sonoma. Please try a new version 11.0.10 Beta: PTE AV Studio: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Studio.dmg Player for Mac shows: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Player.dmg Don't forget to untick an option "Open using Rosetta", if you used our temporary solution earlier. Let me know about a result. -
Hi, Sorry for our late response. Version 11.0 (a trial version or purchased version) should open correctly all projects saved in previous versions, including V9. Tell me in more details: 1. Do you observe this problem with a certain V9 project, or with all other projects? 2. When you try such project, do you see a Missing Files window which suggest you help to find and recover missing files? 3. If you try to open the same project in V9, will it be opened correctly? On your screenshot above, 1st slide is selected and I see a full path to missing files in the status bar (bottom of the main window). Check this path if it contain a required file.

PTE AV Studio crashes on Apple Silicon under macOS 14 Sonoma [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
I tend to think, it's a bug in macOS Sonoma. Probably Apple tried to optimize game performance in macOS. We found one solution and will apply it for PTE on Monday. I also don't see a game mode icon in the top menu. The most likely it's not activated for PTE / Preview. -

PTE AV Studio crashes on Apple Silicon under macOS 14 Sonoma [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, I've combined 4 threads into this one topic because all the reported problems are related to the same cause. These problems occurs only on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1/M2 chips) under macOS 14 Sonoma. We have found a temporary solution while we work on a permanent solution: Run PTE AV Studio with Rosetta. Find PTE AV Studio app in your Applications folder. Select the app, and then press Command-I (or right-click/use the File menu and select Get Info.). This will open an Info window with details about the app. In the Info window, look for a checkbox labeled, “Open using Rosetta”. You can do the same for PTE AV Player. We think Apple has made some major changes to speed up apps on Apple Silicon (runloop for system messages). And the correct operation of PTE AV Studio was disrupted. The fix will take some time. -

PTE AV Studio crashes on Apple Silicon under macOS 14 Sonoma [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Mark, I think this issue is the same as the second problem which you described here: https://www.pteavstudio.com/forums/topic/38656-pte-crashes-on-save-as/ I'll reply in details today later. -
Hi Mark, You purchased a very good and powerful Mac. Video encoding is a hard task for a CPU and it fully loads it. The cooling system in laptops and iMacs becomes clogged with dust over several years, especially if the computer is often used under heavy load, causing the fans to work actively. If a laptop/Mac becomes too noisy, gets very hot, and even turns off during heavy load (video encoding), we recommend taking the computer to a service center to remove dust from the cooling system. Macbook Air with M1/M2 is not affected, because it has passive cooling system, no fans. New Macs with M1/M2 chips consumes less power and stay more cool than Intel Macs and dust issue should not occur long time.

PTE AV Studio crashes on Apple Silicon under macOS 14 Sonoma [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi Tom, I can check this tomorrow on our Mac mini with M1 chip. Let me know, where are located linked files (images/videos/audio) and where is located .pteav file? I mean it's special folder (in Documents or Desktop) or new folder in user's home folder? Try to create a new project in a folder located in user's home folder, and try to repeat the same steps. -
Solution for a problem with fonts in macOS 14 Sonoma
Igor replied to Igor's topic in Troubleshooting
I discovered that this issue with fonts occurs only on Intel Mac under macOS Sonoma. Mac with Apple Silicon (M1/M2) work correctly with any version of PTE AV Studio. Anyway, the new updated version of PTE AV Studio will work correctly on any Mac, including Mac with Intel chip. -
For Mac users. Apple will release the new macOS 14 Sonoma tomorrow, September 26th. After updating to macOS 14 Sonoma, you may experience distorted fonts in PTE AV Studio interface and in text objects. We recommend you install the latest version of PTE AV Studio (11.0.9 or 10.5.10) where this issue was solved: For V11 users: https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/download/ For V10.5 users: https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/old-versions/ If you create executable shows for Mac, install the updated PTE AV Player.

I'm glad that you solved this problem! Thanks for your patience. We think that that issue should not occur in v11.0.9 anymore.

Hi Jane, Thanks for uploading a test project. I see the problem with transitions. It seem that these transitions were damaged in v11.0.7. I recommend the following solution: Choose any another transition and then choose the desired transition. Click the OK button to close Slide Options window. Repeat these steps for each affected slide. Save the project. It should help. I apologize again for these difficulties!
