  1. A very beautiful place! Excellent done!
  2. Thanks! It's a bug in PicturesToExe 5.03 which doesn't support 8-bit grayscale image with alpha channel. We just fixed it in future v5.1 I'll publish updated 5.04 with this fix tomorrow. As temporal solution please save this PNG file as 24-bit image with alpha channel.
  3. Please see my reply here: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....ost&p=46424
  4. Andrew, I agree and as I wrote above I will implement real preview of a slide picture in version 5.2 (after v5.1). I'll try to finish this code in v5.1, but maybe I'll find unexpected difficulties with old code and it will require more time. I prefer carefully develop such important features and perform all necessary tests for absolute reliability. Probably in case of your PowerPoint like slideshow with text objects, there is one helpful temporal solution. Use Text comment (see "Comment" field in the main window) for those text objects and then modify generated text objects as you want. Then choosing a slide in the Slide list you will see "Text" field and maybe it will be easier to locate necessary slide. Of course, I understand that can be only temporal solution.
  5. I also converted several slideshows for my iPhone. And perfect playpack and quality!
  6. Sorry, PTE still can't handle video in slideshow. We worked support of AVI files in VideoBuilder.
  7. New version 5.1 will be intermediate release. We plan to release v5.1 in late 2007. The first beta will be most likely in a month. We decided release 5.1 earlier than scheduled and leave some features for future version 5.2 (Spring of 2008). Because "Masks" (version 5.2 or 5.3) and "Run Application" issues (v5.2) require more time of developing and not ready yet at this moment. So it would be better release 5.1 now without waiting of these two features which already in developement and will be inserted immediatelly when its ready. Because 5.1 is an intermediate release, there will be no major new features in the main program of PicturesToExe. But some new features, visual improvements are added. I still working with Ideas and Suggestions list for main program of PicturesToExe A pleasant sursprise with VideoBuilder. My colleague Sergey (who developes the code of VideoBuilder) and Artem, with my help prepared the next new features and improvements: > Encoding of DVD-Video disc (and AVI) works in 2 or 3 times faster now due to optimization for dual-core CPUs and using of hardware acceleration for video post-processing (if modern video card installed). Exactly same video quality as in previous version. > You can choose a number of items per page in DVD menu. > MPEG2 files can be added to a project. For example, you can encode your slideshow(s) to MPEG2 video file(s) and then use it again in new projects without re-encoding of it again. > Music for DVD menu (with "Fade in" and "Fade out" parameters). > Color adjusting of DVD menu (Hue, Saturation and Lightness). It allows very quickly modify a view of DVD menu and find your own individual style. > Adjusting of a background image parameters (Tile, Stretch, Fit) > Support of all kinds of AVI files imported to a project (including AVS video file scripts). For example, modern Intel Core 2 Duo based PC with ATI Radeon 1900XT encodes DVD with slideshows in 2 times faster than realtime. For example 2 minute's slideshow will take 1 minute of encoding.
  8. Andrew, I just added the next improvement to Timeline window: it remembers cursor position and selected keypoint when you close and open Timeline window again. It remembers absolute index of keypoints (e.g. 6th keypoint). Real preview of a slide at the top-right corner of a Timeline and main windows will be in version 5.2. We plan to rework some moments in PTE's engine to make it possible (it concerned with optimization and quick response of a program).
  9. Mike, I'll write about future version 5.1 in a new topic within a couple of days.
  10. It was my mistake - removing of this global option from v5.0 and I recently added it again to future version 5.1. There will be global option - "Wait for a key press to show next slide" and you can override this behaviour in properties of particular slide(s). The best from both worlds. Any combinations.
  11. No, regrettably it's ATI video card in your laptop discards color profile in fullscreen mode of slide show. Confirmed bug of ATI's drivers under Windows XP.
  12. Please submit your request using this form: http://www.wnsoft.com/support.htm
  13. Albert, As I've understood the problem happens only with one particular EXE file? And other seven slideshows always exit normally? What file size of this (8th) EXE file which cause the problem? Please keep copy of this EXE file. On this PC with Vista, start PicturesToExe, open project file of this slideshow and in main menu choose "Create As" and save new EXE file with absolutely another name. Say "My new slideshow". How it will work now?
  14. Barry, Not all NVIDIA Geforce 8600GT has cooling based on heat-pipe system. Please contact to you computer store and ask for this video card with this cooling system. For example, Gigabyte suggests many models of video cards with using of heat-pipe cooling. Heat-pipe cooling is an excellent technology: noiseless and absolutely reliable. As I wrote above, NVIDIA Geforce 8600GT is an extremely fast and powerful video card for slideshows with Pan/Zoom effects.
  15. Barry, Both video cards in times faster than necessary in fact If I'm allowed I would like to recommend noiseless video card with heat-pipe cooling. High end video card usually not silent and with high demands to power supply. Because of this 8600GT would be perfect choice.
  16. Brian, As I've understood this problem should not happens if EXE file downloaded from Internet, or downloaded ZIP archive unpacked and EXE file extracted?
  17. Peter, A very strange problem, I'm really wondered. I'll try to reproduce this situation. Please explain me how your desktop and laptop connected (Wi-fi network) and how you copied file from one PC to another one (in Windows Explorer or you use 3rd party file manager)? As I've understood no problem with EXE files created in v5.00?
  18. Albert, Peter, Please tell more about it. 1) Do you have this problem when click "Preview" button in version 5.0? 2) Does the problem happen always when you attempt to close slideshow or not always/rarely? 3) Does it happens when you try to exit from a slideshow by hitting Esc button, or when slideshows reaches the end of a show? It's an important moment for us. 4) Please install latest updated drivers for your graphical card. It's very important, because included drivers for graphical card to Vista not well optimized and often with bugs. 5) Also describe a name and configuration (shortly) of your laptops with Windows Vista. 6) If it still didn't help, may we send you special test version of PicturesToExe which will help to find the reason of this problem and probably quickly fix it? I didn't hear about this problem before, but we will try find a solution.
  19. Today I had a trip to a park outside my town and nature was so beautiful, unfortunately I didn't take my DSLR camera. But I always have my Apple iPhone (cell phone) which I decided to try as a camera. Please don't judge this slideshow strictly, it's only experiment, not more. No doubt that a technical side of quality of images (in other words - camera) also should be high in addition to skills of a photographer. http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/show/This_Autumn.zip (6.2 MB)
  20. In the next versio 5.1 VideoBuilder will accept earlier created MPEG2 files. In fact VideoBuilder is ready for future beta version, we're working on main code of PicturesToExe now.
  21. Jason, You wrote: But I didn't say that any computer can play ideally EXE file with slideshow created in v5.00. Because Pan/Zoom effects requires modern video card. I wrote in the press-release: You can create DVD in PicturesToExe on any computer with Windows. In "Sample slide shows created with PicturesToExe Deluxe v5.0" section of press-release I write for some sample slideshows: In this phrase of press-release: And it's also true. I know that slideshows can be with or without Pan/Zoom effects and requirements of slideshows with Pan/Zoom effects higher, but both kinds of slideshows will play. Recommended PC for Pan/Zoomed slideshows described on our website and Help file: Any competition product which creates and plays slideshows in real time with same high quality will has same system requirements.

  24. A reply from GriSoft (AVG Antivirus). The problem fully solved now.
  25. Jim, Thanks, I've sent a letter to Kaspersky's Lab and just received their response: I hope GriSoft (AVG Antivirus) also will solve this false detection soon.
