I compared AsPack with UPX two years ago, and AsPack compressed better than UPX. We use AsPack for a very long time and it shown ideal reliability. Also I have personal contacts with authors of AsPack and we can solve any possible difficulties immediately. If you really want to repack EXE file, I suppose that there is utilities which can unpack EXE file compressed by AsPack . p.s. in AsPack we can use more strong compression option. But it will delay start of EXE file 1 second or so.

You can temporarily find this file here: OlgaBoritsch.exe

Now we're finishing main transition effects for new graphical engine. I promiss that after the first beta next betas will be every week or more often.
-
Both reasons. We'll try make it possible to use 0 ms. and small intervals as earlier. Also as usually we're open for all responses and it's always not late to rework some important moments which we might skip.

For v5.00 I've wrote unified system of times/synchronization. At any moment, you can adjust time points on the timeline, or open "Customize slide" window and change time of a slide(s). You can use simultaneously both ways. Now the value specied in "Customize slide" window means the exact time of show of a slide (including transition effect).

No problem, because I have special and very warm clothes. We have -26'C ... -35'C and sunny weather and wind. Really it even interesting

In v5.00 I tried to make more friendly timeline. And timeline will be available for all modes of slide-show. Even without music.
-
Ok, I've understood. In v5.00 there will be no such problem with 1 pixel border of a picture.
-
Yes, you're right. This algorithm works in several times faster especially because we use CPU only. However hiding of 1 horizontal and 1 vertical lines outside the screen shouldn't be noticeable? In v5.00 we will use video card and resizing will be absolutely exact.

Ralph, Thanks, I even didn't think about this variant!

Try also to select slide No. 88 in the Slide list in PicturesToExe and then press Ctrl+R. Preview will start from this slide. And let me know about result. If is possible, please send me to int_support@ ............... wnsoft.com only small .pte project file of your slide-show. It will help me to find exact reason of the problem and solve it. I have PC Celeron 900 Mhz for testing.

What time interval between slides you set? (for 89th, 90th, 91th slides) What size of images in pixels (e.g. 1024 x 768) and in bytes (e.g. 500 KB) and is it JPEG or BMP image? Does it happen when you watch Preview or created EXE file? What CPU you have in your PC and version of Windows?

Next 5.00 version can pack (Alt+B or from main menu) all files of a project into one ZIP archive.

No fees for upgrade to v5.00

Of course, we can output 24-bit audio. But I'm afraid almost all (or all) sound card just will resample it to 16-bit. Creative probably uses own API and special features of drivers for 24-bit audio playback. As I know (may I'm wrong) that still there is no common API for guaranteed correct playback of 24-bit audio. Also you need to use WAV files only for 24-bit.

Invision yesterday reported that they released critical security update for the forum. Of course, we asked them to install this newest patch. And it already installed several minutes ago.

When you select DVD, SVCD or VCD it always uses PicturesToExe lossless video codec. We mayn't directly support "Microsoft Windows Media Video 9" codec (WMV), because it's not AVI file. But you can choose our lossless PicturesToExe codec (or DVD preset) and import created AVI file into Media Encoder 9 program and convert it to WMV video file. It will give exactly same image and sound quality as if you could create WMV directly in PTE.

Small update of current version of PicturesToExe: PicturesToExe v4.45 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr.zip (1.4 MB) * Fixed possible problem with music, if you have Skype USB Phone (mistake in drivers for this device). * Fixed bug with "Import transition points" function in the timeline window. (A last point always skiped after importing from another project.)

Thanks! tom95521 Ok, I just corrected this button.

Whereas Pan/Zoom effects require exact timing, any slide displays exactly specified time now. In both modes - synchronized and not synchronized. If you just watch slide-show you will find no difference between these modes. So there is only one difference between these modes. When you rewind slides in NOT synchronized slideshow music DOESN'T rewind. And opposite in synchronized slide-shows, music rewinds with rewinding of slides. Really a very small difference? So besides global options ("Synchronize slideshow to music"): 1) we added ability to specify this option to each slide personally - "Synchronized", "Not synchronized", "By default (Use global settings of the Project). 2) Ability to use timeline in both modes. And ability to adjust time of slide in its personal settings (as you can do in not synchronized slide-shows in v4.44 and earlier). 3) For example, ability to make all slide-show synchronized (as earlier) and several last slides leave not synchronized! We have only one difficulty and question with Not synchronized projects. If somebody worked with *not* synchronized slide-show, he could use Personal time of slide and global time interval for slides (by default) and ability to set time individually for some slide(s). Now *each* slide in *each* slide-show has personal time. And you can adjust its time on the timeline, or in properties of the slide. Also you can open Project options and set new time inteval (for example 5 sec.) for all slides. See two screenshot bellow. Will it be enough intuitive and still easy to use for not-synchronized projects? p.s. No changes if you work with *synchronized* project. All works and looks as earlier.

Thank you, Bill for continuous support of your project! Sincerely,

I wish you all Happy New year! p.s. although, we have entire 10 days of holidays here in Russia, however we'll continue to work 4th or 5th January.
-
Yes, but as we discovered we had no chance to choose another way. Pan/Zoom required to do all this work. And spent much time for investigations and a long testing for maximal quality and reliability of v5.00.
