When you use Ulead DVD MF please alsways use "For Ulead" option which produces special .ptev video file for Ulead. Only this option allows to create smooth video (50/60 fields) in Ulead programs. So we highly recommend to use this option if you work with Ulead products. If you use usual AVI file, please remove "Interlaced" option. Because Ulead can't recognize interlaced AVI video file and converted video will jerk (not smooth). Not interlaced AVI will contains only 25/30 fields, it will not jerk, but Push effect and Curl effect will not look enough smooth. Another programs, like TMpegEnc, Adobe Encore, Pinnacle Studio correctly recognize AVI files with "Interlaced" option and produces smooth video with 50/60 fields. Concerning problem with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4. Apparently it's a bug that it can't recognize special .ptev video format anymore (when you enable "For Ulead..." option in PTE). I've tried with trial version of Ulead DMF4 and all works fine. Please download this test which will help me to find why PTE can't correctly find installed Ulead DMF4: http://www.wnsoft.com/beta/FindUleadDMF4.exe (130 KB)

Thank you! We just found and fully fixed this bug in v4.41 beta http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=3060 It should be very important improvement for all who work with video via PicturesToExe.

PicturesToExe v4.41 beta is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1,4 MB) What's new in v4.41 beta: * Fixed bug when Ulead DVD MovieFactory or another DVD converter didn't work with video file of PicturesToExe (Thanks to Lumenlux, bbdigital and aztari !). * Fixed bug when random show of slides didn't work in synchronized presentation (Thanks to Ken Cox). * Fixed one visual bug on the timeline. Now this version should solve many earlier possible problems with creating DVD video discs.

Bert, this problem comes when you set "Large fonts" (120 dpi) in Windows. I know about this visual problem and will try to optimize for this mode. Please let me know your version of Windows? Granot, 1) (answered) 2) Of course, you can use "Show first transition from desktop" and "Show transition to desktop after last slide" together. 3) It works as additional slide, so I named it as Slides count + 1

Thank you! You've gave me an idea when you said that this problem depends on file size of JPEG images. I've reproduced this bug on Celeron 700 Mhz with 5000x3000 images (3 MB), but it worked fine on Athlon 1600 XP. Then I've specially added 3 sec. delay between sending of an every video frame to Ulead DMF and the problem occurs now on any PC in any project with all versions of Ulead DMF. We'll explore to solve this strange problem. Maybe it's our mistake. As temporary solution, please use 1024x768 or 1280x960 images.

Maybe we need to change our web hoster? Al, I'm very impressed by THIS difference! At least, PTE is only 1,4 MB. Not 100 MB as I just downloaded Ulead DVD MF4 4.0 via slow-connection.
-
1) So Ulead accepted PTE video file and started converting? 2) What is you version of Windows? If Windows XP, is it with SP2? 3) What CPU you have - Athlon 64 or Pentium 4? 4) Please try this test version: http://www.wnsoft.com/beta/pte441video1.zip 1) Reproduce this bug with video as usually to make sure that we have the problem. 2) Then close PTE, start it again. In "Video" window set checked "Debug" option and try again. (You'll see a green field instead of video.)
-
1) Please couldn't you send me one .pte project file where the bug appears? I just sent you email request. 2) And let me know when occurs (e.g. 60% of converting in Ulead DMF 2.0) 3) What exact version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory you use? 4) Duration of music file 5) Synchronized or not synchronized slide show? 6) What version of Windows? Have you SP2 installed? 7) What CPU you have - Athlon 64 or Pentium 4? Please try this test version: http://www.wnsoft.com/beta/pte441video1.zip 1) Reproduce this bug with video as usually to make sure that we have the problem. 2) Then close PTE, start it again. In "Video" window set checked "Debug" option and try again. (You'll see a green field instead of video.) And please let me know will the bug appear with this option.

Thank you for this important observation! Excuse me for late response! I'll try to reproduce this problem. If it will necessary, can you help me with several tests?

I just quickly checked up how PicturesToExe v4.40 works with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 and found no problem. I've experimented with creating ISO image file (virtual disc, without buring of real DVD disc). Please describe me in more details how the problem appears? 1) Is it not recognize .ptev video file which you import from PTE to Ulead DMF 4.0? (In this case please restart Ulead DMF 4.0 and try again) 2) Do you see preview after adding of pte video file in Ulead? 3) Or does it fall when Ulead DMF 4.0 converting video for the DVD disc? (If it happens with all projects, please try with very short slide-show - two slides and 10-sec. music file and let me know about result) By the way, new Ulead Launcher has so cool interface with bottom mirrored shadow! But it works SO SLOWELY. It should works at least in 10 times faster because they uses special layered windows. Also DMF 4 doesn't work in 800x600 anymore.
-
Probably they changed internal API, so our plug-in doesn't work correctly with new version of Ulead DMF 4. Or it's our error in PTE. I'll download trial version of this version and check up for this problem. Please don't worry, this problem will be fixed very soon!

Barry, JRR, Because we've decided to rework our internal graphical engine, proportional scaling of objects will be realized very easily (as an option, as usually). So it will appear in the next major version 4.50 (with Pan/Zoom). Lin, please explain me this moment in more details.

What's new in v4.40: + Added new terrific transition effect: Curling of page It contains 16 variations and ability to set radius of curling. Horizontal/vertical variations of this effect work smooth on any PC. (Note: Diagonal variants require a very fast PC. (See "View" popup menu). Disable it if you prefer to control fully the addition of new transition points; > Other improvements. + Now you can edit personal settings of several selected slides. It means that, for example, it is possible to set a transition effect for several slides, but the other personal parameters will be left individual. + Alternative Slide list, File panel or Timeline scrolling. 1) Try to completely uninstall old version and install newest version 4.40. 2) Please check up your PC with ScanDisc and with some antivirus software. Most likely when PTE doesn't start, it means that the program file is damaged.
-
I just checked up again, random show of slides works for synchronized slide-show. For example, every time when I run slide-show, I watch different first and second slides (and etc).
-
Thanks, Tom. I just fixed it.

I'll ask Inna to visit this topic and read your responses! Al, Earlier we planned this tutorial as one ZIP file (with main menu), but all lessons take about 7 MB, so we decided to locate files separately.

But how can I without your help find all bugs and transform the program from beta to final release? p.s. Ed, I wrote about that bug in another topic. It was interesting bug.
