I didn't tried yet, but I consider that it's possible. Because in Ulead DVD MovieFactory or TMpegEnc Plus/Author you can produce files with structure of future DVD disc without burning it. Next step - you add .exe file to some NEW folder and place autorun.inf file. Now using Nero 6 or Easy CD Creator 6 choose burn DVD-Video disc and just move all earlier created files to the shows structure of DVD disc. Click burn button. p.s. to save your time and DVD discs I recommend to try with CD-RW or DVD-RW discs how it works.

Thanks, Tom, for your suggestions! - Yes, we have plans concerning adding of thumbnail view (as alternative) to the next versions. I even have some code written earlier for this. But it's very important and difficult area for changes and I often think about this feature. - "Batch rename feature" and "Text edit view". Good idea for the next version. - AVI or SWF animation as objects on a slide. I think it's not suitable, because it won't work on any PC. Playback of AVI requires to have installed video codec which was used for created AVI file. SWF animatation will require incorporation of player module which may take 300-800 KB! - PTE presentations display textes on any languages, including Easterns. As interface work in main windows of PTE. But this language should be installed as main in Windows. So users in China or Norway can view textes each on their languages. But user from China won't see text on Norwegian, and user from Norway will not able to read text on Chinese. Advanced support for even using of combination of text on different langauges (Unicode) is not supported in PTE, yet.
-
We plan to add this support in the next beta versions.
-
Please don't think about these differences! PTE correctly produces video for SVCD or DVD standards. The only difference is SVCD has a little lesser screen resolution than DVD but also provide good quality.
-
When you click "Create AVI" button in PicturesToExe, the program will ask you filename and path where you would like to save this AVI file. Then start Ulead DVD MovieFactory2 and select this AVI file where you saved it. Please use "Preview" button (which created video file in temp folder) only to see resulting presentation not for adding into DVD burning software!

Unfortunately we don't support AVI video output for presentations with MIDI music.

We're glad to announce new forum: "How to create video". Thank you for suggestion of this necessary forum http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index....php?act=SF&f=4 I've moved there all topics concerning aspects of creating of video in PicturesToExe and using software to encode/burn DVD-Video disc. p.s. also I moved three messages about new slide-shows into special "PicturesToExe Presentations".

How to prepare and then burn DVD-Video or SVCD disc Using PicturesToExe you are able to produce AVI video file which can be easily burned as DVD-Video disc with help of any special software (read below). Even it is possible to create SVCD disc on usual CD-R disc with high quality of image and sound (almost as DVD-Video). PicturesToExe provides fast and lossless transferring of video and audio for converting into DVD-Video format. This allows to keep excellent quality of your presentations and very smooth transition effects. Advice: please create usual EXE files for playing of presentations on PC, and DVD-Video disc if you want to play your presentations on DVD players connected to TV. Newest version of PicturesToExe is 4.20 beta: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip 1) Preparing of AVI file file in PicturesToExe: Start PicturesToExe; open your project; and then call AVI video output dialog ("AVI button in the main window of PicturesToExe"). Choose "NTSC" TV system, if you live in United States, Canada, Japan, Taiwan or South Korea. Choose "PAL/SECAM" TV system you live in Europe, Australia, Africa, or in any other country. Select "DVD-Video disc", if you have DVD-Writer or "SVCD disc" if you have usual CD-R/RW drive. "Interlaced for TV" option is highly recommended to get excellent quality and smoothness of transitions on TV. You can click "Preview" button to immediately see the resulting presentation playing as video file. In this mode, please ignore that transitions may be shown not so smooth. But on burned DVD-Video disc all transition effects will play excellent as in usual EXE file. Also we recommend to make sure that text fonts are enough large to be readable on the screen of TV. Now click the "Create AVI file" button and PicturesToExe will produce video file within 10-30 seconds. Important note: Please don't click "Finish" button until you didn't fully burn the DVD-Video disc. 2) Converting and burning AVI video file into DVD-Video disc: PicturesToExe can not burn DVD-Video, so you need to make use of any special software which can convert produced AVI video file into DVD-Video format and burn the disc. We recommend you to use Ulead DVD MovieFactory2 http://www.ulead.com/store/dmf/runme.htm which can do it. Also you will able to make simple DVD menu. (In this program, please don't forget to choose NTSC or PAL/SECAM in the Preferences window. To call this window, press F6 key). Please click the "Finish" button in PicturesToExe when the disc will be fully written. (Temporary AVI video file will be automatically deleted, because it is intended only for converting into DVD-Video format.) ------------------------------------------- Note: Advanced users can use "Create custom AVI video file" option for various purposes. This allows to produce AVI video file with necessary audio and video codecs (MPEG4, MJPEG, etc).

We planned "transparent" transferring to the new network later at the next Monday, but old server was down before new server became ready. Please visit main web site, News area if it (I hope, never more) happens again.

Tom and Andreas, I just sent you special test which should help to find installed copy of Ulead DVD MovieFactory. Please try this test and send me resulting log file. To bfreas: That's strange, because I successfully tried MPEG2, MJPEG and DIVX with PTE. What's is your version of Windows? And what audio codec you've choosed? But I don't recommend to encode using these codecs because they vastly decrease quality of image and requires more time. Please use our codec (DVD/SVCD presets) to prepare video for encoding of DVD disc. Also concerning Fade effect. Probably you've tried how effects look in AVI Preview mode or produced .avi file? It happens because PTE renders effects on the fly when you play AVI file. Please ignore this moment, because all effects will play perfectly after encoding into DVD/SVCD video disc. I've produced several DVD disc and they play very smooth. To Mike, OK, I'll check up for bitmaps.

Not a problem, don't worry, please! Just updating of DNS records requires various time - from 24 hours to 48 hours (I've done changes about 26 hours ago). It depends on local Internet Service Providers. So we'll see all friends here very soon!

Paid for registration all I got was a registry key
Igor replied to Bear's topic in General Discussion
I'm sorry for unpleasant difficulty! That's very strange that you didn't receive our usual registration letter with a text. I just ordered the program and then received the letter and attached key. Problem it was temporary problem. To make sure, I've resend you registration letter and key manually. All you need it's (as will be described in the reg. letter): 1) Save attached pte.txt file to any folder; 2) Run PicturesToExe. To register your program press Help | Registration... | "Load Key" button and then select this saved pte.txt file. With best regards, -
Less than 2 days - about 40 hours Fortunately, our web site is located on another server and it worked fine. Also I've posted a message in the news area there.

Ulead DVD MovieFactory2: http://www.ulead.com/dmf/runme.htm

PicturesToExe v4.20 beta #4 is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1,4 Mb) What's new in beta #4: * Improved AVI video output feature. Added support for Ulead products (DVD MovieFactory, MediaStudio Pro) to be able produce DVD/SCVD discs with absolutely correct interlaced video. It gives excellent and smooth playback on all DVD-players (even HDTV systems). Because of this we highly recommend to use Ulead DVD MovieFactory2 now. p.s. currently we're solving problem with encoding MPEG2 in Pinnacle Studio. p.p.s. since previous beta #3 you also can use 32-bit alpha bitmaps in objects: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=1382

I'm glad to say you that new server for the forum is ready now! Our forum hoster has moved it into their new and more reliable network. So I hope it will provide the non-interruptable work of the forum now.
-
Yes, presentation doesn't create any music temp files since v4.10 to provide *instant* start of a presentation. This "Run application after last slide" option works as it named. Probably I ought to add ability to make possible running of app. on any case of closing?
-
Yes, I've explored this effect. For some reason, Pinnacle Studio requests 1st frame during 150 ms. every 20-30 frames and it visually calls flickering. We'll try to fix it very soon.
-
I'm glad that problem with NTSC frame rate is fixed. Concerning new problem. This flickering I also see in my Pinnacle Studio 8 Trial. We're fixing it now.
-
Yes, I many times thoughted about creating of such new forum as "How to" with all documentations, guides, articles, advices and success stories from authors. Separate "Video" forum may duplicate with main forum where I post announcements about new betas of v4.20 Or it's not so? Please let me know your opinions whay we should prefer! Thanks.
-
Let's try new beta #3 which should solve this problem with correct NTSC frame rate.
-
It's intersting visual bug in main window of PTE and I rarely see it I feel that it's time to fix it at last.
-
Ken, our server is located in Chicago Just it's possible to confuse two different versions because they both have same file name! Ray, I'm sorry if I've missed many questions during past time! I recommend you to set "Fit to screen" option (Project options | Screen tab) also you can set "90%" of screen (if you'd like to have border) and your pictures will look similar in different screen resolutions.
-
v4.20 beta should print much more correctly. Next beta version also will contain standard print dialog to choose quality in printer drivers.

PicturesToExe v4.20 beta #3 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1,4 Mb) What's new in beta #3: * Fixed two old bugs in Visual editor of objects which caused show of error messages. * Improved stability of AVI video output and added correct FPS for NTSC. + Added support for 32-bit .bmp images with alpha channel (for use in objects). Support of alpha bitmaps can be interesting thing for advanced users. It's necessary to have graphical editor with support of 32-bit bmp images (Adobe Photoshop doesn't contain this support for BMP images) to create such BMP files. Try to add these two test 32-bit bmp images as objects onto slide: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/AlphaBitmaps.zip (149 Kb) (32-bit BMP image can has any form, be partially semi-transparent, has shadow and has anti-aliased (smooth) edges. But it's not so easy to create such bmp image in graphical editor!) To Dana: Please try this beta with Pinnacle StudioDV for NTSC output. p.s. we're still working to get work Ulead DVD MovieFactory2 with interlaced AVI files. Please wait.
