Hi Judy, For PC NVIDIA graphics is the best choice for PTE AV Studio. It's fast and you can use hardware acceleration for video encoding with good quality. NVIDIA Geforce 1060 still excellent video card for PTE AV Studio 10.5 for any tasks. So you can buy any modern NVIDIA graphics from 1060 series and higher (1070, 1650, 1660, 2060, 3060, etc). For laptops I especially recommend NVIDIA dedicated graphics. For Mac New Macs with Apple M1 chip is excellent choice. Apple M1 Pro or M1 Max are ideal choice.

That's fine

We fixed this issue. Try a new Beta version: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pteavstudio-setup.exe

We discovered that a new audio channel is created in time and playback is started, but first audio buffer arrives with a 500 ms delay. Seems to be a bug in audio drivers (maybe Realtek). On our laptop this issue occurs only when I disable Stereo mixer for a microphone in Windows 10 control panel. Previous PTE versions created a silent audio channel to synchronize the timer with the audio device on PTE launch. In version 10.5 it occurs later on first click of the play button. We found a solution to avoid this delay. I'll publish a new Beta version when it's ready.

Thanks for your responses! I finally reproduced this issue. It occurs with a certain settings of audio mixer in Windows 10. We'll explore why it affects to PTE 10.5.

Thanks, I confirm this issue. We'll fix it soon.

Hi Jean-Cyprien, Thanks for testing. I'll wait for your reply regarding Question 2. We need to think about this issue. Do you observe the same problem on another computer?
-
Thanks for your opinions. We'll try to make it as in earlier versions. P.S. I moved my reply to this topic, wrongly posted in another thread.

Jean-Cyprien, Thanks, Interesting problem. Probably it's related with incorrect work of audio device (drivers). 1. Try to create a MP4 video. Will it contain a correct synchronization? 2. Do you observe any audio synchronization issue when you watch a movie in a video player app, a video clip in PTE preview, and video on YouTube? Find a point where you can see a face of a speaker and hear his voice. 3. Also try the attached test project to check audio synchronization. I use this test for last 15 years to check every new PTE version for audio synchronization. SyncTest.zip

Thanks for your opinions. We'll try to make it as in earlier versions.

If this problem occurs on one computer only, try to update drivers for audio device.

Jean-Cyprien, Can you check audio output settings on that PC for sound card in Control Panel of Windows - 48 Khz or 44.1 KHz, 16 bit or 24 bit? Thanks
-
Hi Jean-Cyprien, I checked on 3 Windows PCs and one Mac with M1 chip using PTE AV Studio 10.5.5 Pro. Audio synchronization is perfect in your project when I play a full screen preview, EXE, or Mini Player, or a preview in the Objects and animation editor. No problems. I didn't rewind or pause the show/preview. We'll check on two other computers later. Can you try to replace the OGG audio file to MP3 using Audacity converter? And also convert this OGG to M4A audio format and check a synchronization. We use built-in MP3 decoder and FFmpeg to decode OGG and M4A audio files. Also let me know, does the computer where this delay occur contain SSD drive or HDD? For system and for user files. All my checked computers have SSD drives for system and for PTE projects. P.S. Can other members try this project?

Hi Jean-Cyprien, Thanks, I'll check tomorrow.

Indeed, it's interesting problem which doesn't have a simple solution. The same situation was discussed on another forum: "Why does ffmpeg's conversion from mono to stereo lower the volume?" https://sound.stackexchange.com/questions/42709/why-does-ffmpegs-conversion-from-mono-to-stereo-lower-the-volume We do the same in PTE 10.5. I checked various video players. Almost all players keep the same loudness for mono audio. And I found that an old MPC-HC version reduces loudness as PTE 10.5. What you think?

Severe Memory Leak 10.5.2 Apple Silicon Build 4 [CLOSED]
Igor replied to Jimcamel's topic in Troubleshooting
I raise this subject again. It seems that it's a bug in macOS Big Sur and Monterey on Macs with Apple M1 / Pro / Max chips. Many users report that default apps, including Safari, Control Centre, Apple Music, and also other apps (Adobe) may consume dozens of gigabytes of system memory suddenly. The most likely the memory manager in macOS doesn't work correctly when an app get/free memory arrays, especially if an app is running many days. Hi Stuart, Thanks for your thoughts and suggestion.

Hi Rosemarie, We apologize for this problem. Please let me know - what version of PTE AV Studio you have installed? Check the About window in the Help menu. The latest free update is 10.5.5: https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/download/ 2. Does this problem occur with other projects, or only with this project? If the problem occurs with one project, the most likely one file (video, image, or audio) cause this problem. Can you send us this project? It will help us find and fix this problem. Use a command "Create a backup in a ZIP" from the main menu > File menu. Then upload the ZIP archive to WeTransfer.com or Google Drive, iCloud and send us a download link.

Daniel, Rasterizing to PNG was removed about 8-9 years ago. I understand your concern and I have one idea. Rasterizing to PNG is not ideal solution because it had a fixed pixel size, not optimal for all monitors and resolutions. We think about possibility to include vectorized data (curves of letters) to a .pte project, if author prefer this mode for certain text objects with unique fonts. This idea is added to our TODO list.
-
Daniel, You can transfer a created EXE show or .pteav show to another PC or Mac. Original fonts will be kept. The same for created MP4 videos. To transfer a source project (.pte file) to another computer, firstly you need to install the same unique fonts and then open the project on another computer. PTE uses fonts available in Windows or Mac, built-in fonts or custom fonts installed by user.

Thanks, I confirm both problems.
-
Hi, Please send me 1-2 sample videos.
-
Hi, Please send a request here with details about your computer and version of Windows: https://www.wnsoft.com/fr/support/ We need more details to help with your problem.
-
Hi Dave, If you use "Run Slideshow" command you need to select a show in .pteav format. Create shows in this format in the Publish menu > Show for Mac. To choose a file with a show, click on a small triangle button below "Run Slideshow" box. If you choose "Run Application or Open File", you can choose any file. But we don't recommend this variant for Mac. Use the first option described above.

PTE AV Studio 10.5.5 is available for PC and Mac Download: https://www.wnsoft.com/pte-av-studio/download/ Or use Auto Update feature: Main menu > Help > Check for Free Updates. Fixed problem import/export of slide styles which contain a comma in a style name. Fixed problem with high memory usage in the editor of a custom transition when a slide buffer is used multiple times. Fixed problem with the “Go to slide…” command when using a slide name set by default (a main image name). Fixed problem with freezing during video encoding when embedded video clip has a very short duration (about 1 ms).
