Problem adding voice comment on Mac version
Igor replied to dieter aufpad.com's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Hi Dieter, We recommend to use other apps on Mac to record a voice commentary. Use a built-in app in macOS Voice Memos, or Audacity. We plan to integrate voice recording in future. It works only for Edit File command in a popup menu for select file or slide. Not for a voice recording. -
Hi, Yes, PTE AV Studio is compatible with Windows 11. At least with a public Beta version available now. Currently PTE AV Studio for Windows is x86-64 version (Intel/AMD). On Windows 11 for ARM CPU, PTE AV Studio will work in emulation. We plan a native ARM version for Windows 11 in future. P.S. Mac version of PTE AV Studio already has native version for ARM CPU (Apple M1) and Intel CPU.

Denis, Thanks, I remember about this issue.

Hi, We plan to enable a possibility to add audio file as a Video object in future version. It allows to include sound in a custom transition. It's like video player software can play audio files, too.
-
Please remind me what exact problem you observe after that operation.

Hi, I just upgrade the forum software to the latest version 4.6. It includes some new features. If you notice any problem, please let me know.

Tom, Thanks for testing PTE AV Studio on Windows 11. Recent motherboards for AMD and Intel CPUs can emulate TPM 2.0, so you don't need to buy a special TPM 2.0 module (which probably gives better protection). This option can be activated in UEFI (BIOS) screen before loading Windows.

Hi, Can you remind me this problem?

PTE AV Studio 10.5.2 is available for PC and Mac Download: https://www.wnsoft.com/pte-av-studio/download/ Or use Auto Update feature: Main menu > Help > Check for Free Updates. More fonts are available for a Text object now (Windows). Fixed problem with inserting a copyright symbol with Option+G (Mac). Fixed problem with typing some French accented characters (Mac). Fixed problem with cloning a custom transition immediately after importing.

No worries. Thanks for the first reported problem which is fixed with your help. We'll release a new update 10.5.2 next week.

Bernard, On Mac Brush Script MT font has only one variant. No bold font. I checked this font in TextEdit app.

Try the same font in TextEdit app from macOS. How it works with bold text and accents?

Microsoft revealed a list of supported CPUs for Windows 11. Read about Intel and AMD CPUs. They dropped support of many CPU, including recent AMD Ryzen (1st gen) and Intel 7th-generation. My desktop PC at our office which we purchased 4 years ago on Intel CPU Kaby Lake (Core i5-7400, announced in 2017 year) is NOT compatible with Windows 11. It sounds as a nightmare. Also all computers should include TPM (Trusted Platform Module). My recent desktop PC only has a connection for this TPM, you have to find this TPM, purchase (30-60 USD) and install it. Our another laptop - Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro purchased in 2015 doesn't include any TPM and is NOT compatible with Windows 11. Even Apple added support for Macbook Pro 2015 in the new macOS 12 Monterey whereas Microsoft dropped support for CPU introduced in 2017 year. So it would be interesting to see how many installations will get Windows 11.

I'm glad! Thanks. Can you also test all variants how you type text with accents and umlauts on French? As I understood it's possible to enter accents with English keyboard layout (holding Option/Alt key) and with French keyboard layout. Probably you use specific font? I don't see problem with Arial and Times New Roman.

Hi, I apologize for this issue. I just sent you a message through this forum with your license key.

Bernard, We fixed this problem. Can you try a new version 10.5.2 Build 4: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Studio.dmg
-
Bernard, Thanks, I confirm this issue. We'll fix it.
-
Glad that you found a solution. In the Project Options > Screen tab > change Full screen mode to Windowed mode. Or before call a video from a show double click on a window - it switches between a full screen and windowed mode in any show on Mac.
-
Tom, Technically, it's possible, but may require a special command, because existing users may expect opening a current video player associated with a video file. Anyway, the good idea.

Igor replied to Stuart175's topic in Troubleshooting
Stuart, I'm glad that now it works rightly. We'll check again moving of the storage. It's not your mistake. -
Bernard, Thanks for the details. How usually you type ï in "maïs" with French keyboard on Mac?

Regrettably it's a behaviour of macOS. When you run another app (or open a video) from a fullscreen app, this original app will be minimized when launched app finishes its work and macOS will return to the desktop. The same happens even in Finder. Enable a fullscreen view in Finder and double click on a video file to open VLC or QuickTime. When video finishes and you close the player, macOS will return you to the desktop and Finder will stay minimized. Two workarounds: 1. Wrap a video clip to a second show (.pteav file) and use "Run Slideshow with Return" command to run it. Run Slideshow with Return command guarantees that a launched show will return to the menu show at the end. 2. Or switch the show to a windowed mode. In a windowed mode, the menu show will stay active when a launched app (video) closes.
