How PTE "choose" the graphics card to work with?
Igor replied to orizaba's topic in General Discussion
Jose, I'm glad that your laptop works faster with PTE now. Do you have AMD Radeon Control panel? If yes, check again for any options to enable best performance mode for 3D apps. Check your settings according this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/desktop/customize-power-slider Also another reason of reduced performance in 3D apps - dust inside cooling system of a laptop. -
Dom, Simply recreate this style. I recommend to keep a source project which you used to create this style. In this case, when you recreate the style (Ctrl+J hotkey) PTE will automatically offer existing style name, category, description, author name, and other parameters. So I press Ctrl+J, OK, Confirm to Replace. That's all.

How PTE "choose" the graphics card to work with?

Jose, Try to update Windows 10 to the latest version v2004 (May 2020). I already installed this update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028685/windows-10-get-the-update -
Barry, Thanks for the original project and created slide style. I reproduced this problem. Original slides for the styles didn't use "Scale key frames..." mode in the Slide Options. It causes this problem. If I enable this mode and re-create a style, everything works correctly. We kept unticked mode "Scale key frames..." mainly for compatibility and slide styles were intended for work with scaling of keyframes. We'll try to fix this problem, but I'm not sure that we can quickly fix this old code without adding new issues.

How PTE "choose" the graphics card to work with?
Igor replied to orizaba's topic in General Discussion
Jose, PTE 9 and PTE 10 automatically choose optimal fast NVIDIA graphics on laptops with dual graphics (NVIDIA + Intel). Regrettably AMD doesn't provide this possibility and performance of PTE depends on default settings in Windows 10 or in AMD Radeon Catalyst Control panel. You need to switch your 3D graphics for maximum performance (in plugged mode and with battery mode). There are two variants: 1. For certain app. But it's not optimal if you run PTE EXE shows or preview. 2. Global settings for all apps. Recommended by me. You can also read this article, probably it will help: https://www.trickyways.com/2019/07/how-to-force-an-app-to-use-dedicated-gpu-windows/#gpp -
Barry, Please send me the original project (source of this style in a ZIP) and created/exported style. As simple as possible.

Hi Andrew, First Beta version should be available in August and open Beta testing will take at least several months. You can upgrade (now or later) to PTE AV Studio 10 Pro to get a free Mac version.

Dom, It seems to be a side effect of a strong Unsharp mask (Blur "-40") for image object of the book. Set zero and it will solve the problem. Or try less value: "-10" or "-20". You can also apply sharpenning in Photoshop. We'll try to optimize Unsharp mask code for this case, but it may take significant time.

Objects in mask stencil not transparent to selection
Igor replied to thedom's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi Dom, I don't observe such behaviour. I attach my test project. It includes objects with Transparent for click mode in a Mask Stencil. Check also Tools menu > Ignore Objects Not Selected. In my PTE this global option is turned off (as by default). MaskTest.pte -
Slide Options Transitions not playing correct duration [SOLVED]
Igor replied to jkb's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi Jill, Thanks, I reproduced this problem. I checked the project CountDown.pte which you've sent me earlier. The problem with a transition preview occurs when 1st slide has a short duration (1 sec) and 2nd slide is 60 sec with a long transition 59 sec. We'll try to fix it quickly. -
Hi Jill, We added official support of M4V videos in version 10.0.11 Build 7: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pteavstudio-setup.exe M4V is a modification of MP4 container from Apple with a traditional H.264 video compression. Note: some M4V videos (usually purchased movies) may include DRM protection and their playback are limited by certain computer(s). PTE AV Studio will not able to play such protected videos. Home videos in M4V created by users are not protected and should not cause any problems.

Jill, Please send me a sample video, if it possible. Try the following: rename a file extension to .mp4, will it help to get to work this video?

Tom, Yes, we requested Apple for this Mac Mini on ARM CPU for testing. It costs 500 USD for one year with return.

I just installed a new macOS 11 Big Sur on my iMac. This new macOS was announcenced by Apple yesterday and now Beta 1 is available for developers. PTE AV Studio works fine under new macOS 11.

Slide Options Transitions not playing correct duration [SOLVED]
Igor replied to jkb's topic in Troubleshooting
Jill, Sorry for this delay. I'll reply tomorrow. -
Yes, Apple's presentation was great. Apple has announced a move to own ARM chips in all Macs for next 2 years. macOS on ARM will provide a work of almost all old apps for Intel CPU using Rosetta 2 translator. I think that PTE AV Studio also should work. And once we get a new Mac with ARM we will prepare native code for ARM CPU in future Macs for the best performance. In theory we should only recompile PTE for ARM CPU with some corrections in the code, it should take about 2 months.

Hi, Please try a new test version 10.0.11 Build 6. It should be a final version 10.0.11: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pteavstudio-setup.exe Fixed problem with cloning a custom transition located in a local storage of a project.

Allan, If you have a computer with Geforce graphics (Geforce 1050, 1060, 1070, 1080, 1650, 1660, 2060, 2070, 2080), you may use Geforce Experience software for screen recording. It works in realtime with encoding to 1080 60p.

Denis, Thanks, I see the problem. We'll check right now.
