Windows 10.0.20190 Build 20190 PTE Preview broken [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Tom, Thanks, we'll check it. Probably it's a bug in Windows 10 Insider Preview, or in graphics drivers. Our computer with Insider Preview version is located in our closed office. And we still work from home. I'll try to install this Alpha version of Windows to check a work of PTE. The code of the main program of PTE and PteViewerX.exe is the same. Did you check a work of a created EXE show? -
Stephen, You need to change a text in a field "Target" and keep "Start in" field unmodified. Remove this shortcut and create a new shortcut (or simple reinstall PTE AV Studio).
-
Hi Stephen, I apologize for this problem and missing emails. I found you tickets and our replies. Probably our emails were blocked by your email server. Try to update drivers for graphics card on your computer. It may help. I see on your screenshots that PTE AV Studio works incorrectly. Or try an alternate solution: 1. Click right mouse button on a shortcut with PTE AV Studio. Choose "Properties". 2. A window with parameters of the program will appear. Add a parameter for the program path after the double quotas: -alternate3d So the final program path will look something like this "C:\Program Files\WnSoft\PTE AV Studio 10.0\Main\PTEAVStudio.exe" -alternate3d

Hi Jill, Thanks, I confirm the first problem with Master Video track. We'll try to fix it quickly. Please start a new topic for the second problem and attach a test project in a ZIP.

Tom, Yes, I signed NDA to receive this Mac with ARM CPU for developers. We can't speak about performance and difference. I can say only that native ARM version of any app will work faster, although old apps for Intel CPU also work very well in emulation. I attach a screenshot with PTE AV Studio 10, native version with ARM code which is working on my Mac with Apple Silicon (ARM). It works absolutely smooth for any effects and animations:

Today I launched almost fully working PTE 10 on Mac with ARM CPU (Apple Silicon). It works great on ARM CPU. So now we have united code for native Intel and ARM versions of PTE 10 on Mac. It will be one united program (Universal Binary). If Microsoft release ARM version of Windows 10, we will adapt PTE for Windows on ARM, too.
-
Hi, We'll start Beta testing of Mac version in 10-14 days. I ask your patience, Mac is a new platform for us. First Beta version doesn't include all existing features and we plan to release new Beta versions during several months. We also have to adapt PTE AV Studio for ARM CPU in future Macs (Apple Silicon). So we hope to release the final version in Universal Binary format: Intel + Apple Silicon.

Thanks for your recommendations!

Hi, Can you recommend for me and for other members good online services for file sharing which don't require email address for downloading? send.firefox.com doesn't work already a couple of weeks. I know about Google Drive. Not sure about WeTransfer.com. Does this service allow downloading without email address for a recipient?

Slide styles and Themes button not working [SOLVED]
Igor replied to Barry Beckham's topic in Troubleshooting
Try a new test version: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pteavstudio-setup.exe It should improve a stability of Styles and Themes window. If everything is OK, we'll publish it as a new update 10.0.12. -
Denis, Full support of AV1 codec is planned for future version (11.0). We need to update video decoders.

Slide styles and Themes button not working [SOLVED]
Igor replied to Barry Beckham's topic in Troubleshooting
Barry, If this problem will occur again, please send me two folders in a ZIP: 1. PTE AV Studio folder from Program Files 2. Styles and Transitions (from Documents folder). -
Tom, Yes, Apple Silicon (A12Z CPU) is very fast. It stays cool and quiet even in 3D games like Oceanhorn 2 and when I encoded video in PTE 10. Regrettably I can't publish any measurements according NDA signed for Apple. I tried to create an Universal Binary format - the same application for Intel and ARM Macs. It simply doubles file size of the installation package. So it's a difficult choice - offer an universal PTE which weights 100 MB, or two installation files for Intel (50 MB) and ARM Macs (50 MB).
-
Tom, I can't say about Universal Binary format right now, because all development tools for Apple Silicon are in early Beta versions. Probably Universal Binary format will mean double file size of the installation file. Regarding Windows. The most likely, adapting of PTE code for ARM CPU will not be too hard, because we'll do the same job for Apple Silicon now.

Today I've compiled first ARM version of PTE AV Studio for future Macs with Apple Silicon. It has some issues, but the main code already works on my Mac for developers with Apple Silicon CPU. The speed and smoothness are great. Intel version of PTE AV Studio for Mac also works fine on Apple Silicon in emulation. This emulation is invisible for users. It just works as native application for ARM CPU. So PTE AV Studio will be available for any Macs - with traditional Intel CPU or with future Apple Silicon CPU.
-
Tom, I think PTE 10 should work on ARM Windows in emulation of 64-bit Intel code. Yesterday I launched PTE 10 compiled for Intel 64-bit on Mac with ARM CPU (Apple Silicon). It works fine in emulation (x86-64 -> ARM64).
-
Today I received a special Mac with Apple Silicon CPU for developers. So now we can start a work to adapt a native code of PTE AV Studio for ARM CPU in future Mac computers. I tried to run PTE AV Studio (for Intel) on this Mac and it works almost well - we only need to fix one problem and everything else seems to work fine even in emulation - instructions for Intel CPU are being translated for ARM CPU on the fly when you run any "old" application. First Mac with Apple Silicon CPU is planned for the end of this year for all customers. I'm impressed how well macOS works on ARM CPU.

Hi Gary, I recommend to import transitions in the Project Options and then click the OK button. It will not change any existing transitions in your project. I agree that behaviour in the Slide Options it not ideal. Brobably it would better to disable import of any transitions in this window and leave it only in the Project Options?

How to install PTE on computer without internet
Igor replied to AVMalcolm's topic in General Discussion
Internet connection is required to perform one time activation of PTE AV Studio for the correct work. -
Hi Paul, I just sent you personal message with your license key (for PicturesToExe Deluxe 8).

H.265 and H.266 are heavily patented for many years. I hope that AV1 will replace all these codecs, because AV1 is a new open codec supported by Microsoft, Google, Apple and other companies. New TVs, media players declared support of AV1 in new models since 2020.
