Hi, We apologize for this problem! Let me know exact model name of your new laptop. 1. Try to update graphics drivers (NVIDIA) on the new laptop. If it didn't help: 2. If you have access to the old laptop. Please open the same project (with 7 HD video clips) on both laptops (new and old ones). Click the play button to watch a preview in the panel of the main window. Open the Task Manager and check memory usage for "PTE AV Studio" app on both laptops while you watching the preview. When you notice any freezing or defects on a picture, let me know memory usage at this moment. 3. Create a simple test project, which contains only 3 video clips (about 3 minutes of total duration). Click the play to watch a preview. Do you observe any problem on the new laptop? -

Hi Mark, Thanks for these details. I really apologize for that unpleasant issue with PTE AV Player on your Mac! Earlier I asked you: 3. Do you see the error, if you open manually PTE AV Player from Applications for the first time (it was not launched in the Dock). Then open .pteav or .exe show in the Open file window? and you replied me: I re-read your answer. If PTE AV Player runs correctly you open it manually from Applications and then choose .pteav show file from the Open file window, it means that the most likely file association (the Player and .pteav files) is broken. But it's really unusual problem. 1. Try to put .pteav shows into another folder on your Mac, outside system folders Documents or Desktop. A new folder in your Mac's home folder. 2. Check the Trash Bin to and remove any old "PTE AV Players" if you find them there. It's important. Probably file assocition works for the old deleted copy of the Player? I've seen this situation once on my Mac. Then run manually the Player in Applications and after this, try again double click on a show file in the Finder.

Hi, I agree with comments above. Choose a MP4 with 1920 x 1080 (HD) and create 2 variants - 60p (the best option) and 30p (for compatibility). Note, that many TVs cannot play video files from EXFAT formatted external USB drives! Use NTFS formatting instead.

Mark, Thanks for these details. Can you try previous version 11.0.11 of the PTE AV Player? https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Player-11-0-11.dmg 2. Do you use internal display of your Macbook Pro 16" ? Or external display? If external display, what its screen resolution?

Hi Mark, I tried to open your show "LAVG3club.pteav" by double clicking on the file in Finder. Every time, PTE AV Player opened and played it correctly - no errors. Mac Mini M1 chip with macOS Sonoma 14.3.1. Try to reinstall PTE AV Player. Probably you have very old version? 1. Move the Player to the trash bin. 2. Download V11 Player from WnSoft website. 3. Copy the Player icon to the Applications folder on your Mac. 4. Run manually once the Player from Applications. It's important step to update file associations with the new Player. If the problem still exists: 1. Do I understand rightly, that PTE AV Player fails first time when you try to open any .exe show file (or .pteav show for Mac) by double clicking this file in Finder? 2. If you open the Sample Project in PTE, create a Show for Mac (as .pteav file), and then double click this file in Finder, do you see the error for the first time? 3. Do you see the error, if you open manually PTE AV Player from Applications for the first time (it was not launched in the Dock). Then open .pteav or .exe show in the Open file window?

Mark, Version 10.0.14 should work correctly with custom transitions. Can you ask your friend to create a simple test project in V10 - just 3-5 images with different times and couple custom transitions. Then create a backup in a ZIP and transfer the project to Mac for checking. If the problem will occur again, please send me this test project (ZIP). Also you can advise your friend to upgrade to V10.5 - it's a free update for V10 users. -

Hi Mark, The most likely PTE AV Studio were not updated on PC and/or Mac. Some old versions had issues with custom transitions. Times of slides and transitions should not change after moving the project between PC and Mac. I didn't hear about such problem yet. A possible explanation of this issue. On one computer (PC or Mac) "Show full slide duration" option is ticked in the Preferences of PTE AV Studio, and another computer doesn't have this option in the Preferences. I just created a test project on a PC, created a backup in a ZIP and transfered this project to a Mac. Times of slides/transitions didn't change, custom transition were shown correctly. You can open the .pte project file which you received from that user in Notepad. Find a field "CreationTool". For the projects saved in the latest version you can see: CreationTool=PTE AV Studio Pro 11.012 If it shows v11.0.9 or earlier, it explains the problem with broken custom transitions. I recommend to update PTE AV Studio, open that project and check again on a PC that all transitions are correct. Then this project can be transfered to a Mac. P.S. We plan to find a solution for fonts to improve tranfering of projects with unique fonts to another computer. -

Hi Doug, If your monitor is 4K (screen resolution 3840 x 2160), try creating the final MP4 video in PTE AV Studio with the same pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160. Check the quality of the created MP4 video in PTE AV Studio on your computer using VLC or Media Player. So, you can compare the visual quality of the original video and the published copy on YouTube. And determine where the problem occurs. If the local video file quality is excellent (a picture is sharp), but YouTube shows poor image quality, check the quality switch in the bottom YouTube toolbar. Sometimes it automatically selects a low resolution (720 or even 480). Switch manually to 1080 or even 2160 if you created a 4K video).

Hi John, Thanks for sending me your video file. After checking, I discovered that the issue with audio/video synchronization occurs in Microsoft Media Player only under Windows 10 (we checked 2 computers). And Media Player in Windows 11 plays correctly this video (and other videos from PTE), checked on two computers. VLC and MPC HC players open and play correctly this video on any Windows 10 or 11. QuickTime player in Mac (macOS 14 Sonoma) also plays correctly the video. It seems that Microsoft has improved Media Player code in Windows 11 for better audio/video synchronization.

Hi, You can use one license on 2 computers - Windows and/or Mac. Mac version of PTE AV Studio requires the Pro license. I recommend to install a free trial version on your Mac Mid 2010, because the most likely it's not supported. PTE AV Studio requires Metal graphics support. Usually all Macs since 2012 support Metal graphics. -
Hi John, Glad that you found the solution using VLC. I checked a MP4 video creatd in MS Media Player v11.2312.7.0 and audio/video synchronization was perfect. P.S. If you want, send me the original project (backup in a ZIP) and created MP4 video for checking.

John, Thanks for these details. Please try to open your HD video file in another video player. For example, in the latest VLC player. Try my project, attached below. I use it to check audio synchronization in PTE since v5.0. I checked v11.0.11 and found no problem with synchronization in a MP4 HD video and in EXE show. SyncTest.zip

Hi, Let me know exact version of PTE AV Studio (from the About window). Check a state of an option "Synchronize slides and soundtrack" in the Project Options > Advanced tab. This option should be ticked. Do you use MP3, WAV or another format?
