  1. I created a new topic Poor performance under Win10 (v1803) on laptops with dual NVIDIA graphics and moved last posts there.
  2. Please try a new version 9.0.18 BETA: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe This update improves audio playback and quality of waveform: Fixed problem with playback of audio clips which appeared within first 50 ms of audio as a sound “click” and waveform was distorted. Usually this problem doesn’t appear, because first 200-300 ms of audio files contain silence. Fixed problem of cutting of last 20-50 ms in last audio clip. This problem also usually is not visible, because end of audio clips contain silence. Slightly improved accuracy of audio keypoints (sound volume) during playback.
  3. Dave, Desktop computers with NVIDIA Geforce 1060 work fine with the latest update of Windows 10. Fast and smooth work of PTE. And hardware encoding of video works fine. The problem occurs only with laptops with dual graphics (NVIDIA + Intel).
  4. I noticed another problem on laptops with NVIDIA + Intel graphics after update to Windows 10 (version 1803), Hardware encoding of video does not work in future PTE 10. And ffmpeg app has same problem. So we observe at least 2 problems: 1. Poor performance of NVIDIA graphics. 2. No hardware acceleration for video encoding.
  5. I will report to NVIDIA about this problem today.
  6. We tried to update drivers, or install old drivers (for Intel and NVIDIA graphics). Without success. Performance is very bad in many 3D applications including PicturesToExe 9. If you have a laptop with dual graphics NVIDIA + Intel DO NOT update Windows 10 (to version 1803) while NVIDIA and Intel are not fixed problems in their drivers. I think it may take 1-2 months.
  7. I checked work of executable show created in Proshow Producer 9 and found same problem with performance. By default, Proshow executable plays not smooth, FPS is low. If I force this app on NVIDIA card - I see same problem. If I force app for Intel graphics - it works better. Same for PTE 9 shows. So we can conclude that it's a critical bug in NVIDIA drivers for Windows 10 (v1803). Sample with Proshow executable
  8. Dave, Philippe, We reproduced the problem with a slow work of PTe 9 on our test laptop with NVIDIA+Intel dual graphics under latest update of Windows 10 (v1803).
  9. Adrian, It may take more time to fix this problem. Such companies don't work quickly.
  10. Philippe, Thanks, I will check and will reply today later. P.S. We think that this problem is related with incorrect work of drivers.
  11. Dave, Thanks, check my new reply in PM. Please send me dxdiag information. Press Win + R, type dxdiag and press Enter. Click Save button to export dxdiag report. Also make a screenshot of your Device Manager (tutorial) expand item Display Adapter to see name of your video card(s)
  12. It's a quite strange behaviour of updated Windows 10. There should be difference between NVIDIA and Intel graphics. I'm sure that video card works not correctly. I will ask tomorrow my colleague, he is a good expert for Windows 10. Send me dxdiag information (Win+R > type dxdiag )
  13. Dave, In theory, PTE 9.0.15+ should use NVIDIA graphics instead of Intel if drivers are working correctly. Try to manually re-install NVIDIA drivers downloaded from their website. P.S. I also recently updated Windows 10 and I feel that my old PC worked faster 5-7 years ago with Windows 7... My colleague IT professional recommended re-install Windows 10 from a scratch. If update from Windows 7/8 to Windows 10, and then update several times Windows 10 to newer versions - it vastly slows down a computer.
  14. Thanks, Lin! I also find interesting the option to create MP4 video with 60p mode for smooth animation. And future PTE 10 will support hardware encoder for MP4 video, so video encoding will work faster in 3-5 times on modern video cards. There are two problems: 1. Large file size of a created video. 2. Slight banding on smooth gradients in some scenes.
  15. Denis, Thanks, I confirm this problem with audio. This issue appeared since v6.5. I'll try to find why it happens.
  16. Thanks, I've understood.
  17. Gary, I think it's was a false positive. I created a new EXE show in PTE 7.0 (final version) and Windows Defender shows nothing for this file.
  18. Gary, Do you remember exact version of PTE which was used for that EXE file? Also can you try to create again a new EXE and check if the problem with Windows Defender will occur again?
  19. Gary, The most likely it's a false positive. Add this file to the white list in Windows Defender and send me it in a ZIP archive. I will check version of PTE. And then I will send a report to Microsoft.
  20. Thanks. Can you try to run the following 2 EXE shows on your laptop with NVIDIA graphics: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pte8022.exe https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pte8023.exe
  21. Hi, Did you see this problem with PicturesToExe 8? Before our solution (8.0.23). I added the patch in v8.0.23, but I couldn't reproduce the problem on my laptop. Only in PTE 9.
  22. Thanks for the confirmation! I published official version 9.0.17 and 8.0.23. And I posted a summary of the problem with the solution: https://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/topic/20609-solution-of-the-problem-with-laptops-with-nvidia-graphics-and-windows-10/
  23. Description of the problem: PicturesToExe, and executable shows don't work, error message appears. This problem occurs on laptops with dual NVIDIA graphics and updated version of Windows 10 (April 2018 update). PicturesToExe 8 and 9 are affected. Solution: Install the updated version of PicturesToExe 9.0.17 or install the updated previous version PicturesToExe 8.0.23 Alternate solutions If you need to run old versions or old executable shows on a laptop with NVIDIA graphics and Windows 10 (April 2018): A. Select a shortcut with PicturesToExe, or select an EXE file with a slideshow. Click right mouse button to show the context menu > Run with graphics processor > choose "Integrated graphics" (or Intel graphics). Intel video card will work correctly. B. Or connect an external monitor as a primary display to your laptop. PicturesToExe will work correctly. P.S. I bring our apologies for this unpleasant problem! We tend to think that there is a bug in NVIDIA drivers under updated Windows 10, because that error occurs when PicturesToExe tries to initilize graphical mode of DirectX. In the updated version we masked the error message to provide the correct work of PicturesToExe. Also I sent a report to NVIDIA with a description of this problem and we hope that it will be fixed in future updates. Discussion of this problem here
  24. PicturesToExe 9.0.17 is available: Fixed critical problem with work of PicturesToExe and executable shows on laptops with dual NVIDIA graphics under Windows 10 (April 2018 Update). More details here Improved compatibility with video players for created MP4 video files. Fixed problem with wrongly created executable slideshow for Mac. This problem occurred only in Windows 10 if a file name of a project was very long. Fixed problem when Missing files window didn’t display missing icons (.ico). Fixed problem updating of buttons in custom windows.
  25. Thanks for the confirmation. We found a solution to avoid this problem. We'll publish official versions of PicturesToExe 9.0.17 and PicturesToExe 8.0.23 on Monday. I also sent a report to NVIDIA about this problem with PicturesToExe 9. We hope that this problem will be fixed in the new drivers or update of Windows.
