Hello everyone!! Just a few words of your kindness, support and thoughts during the last few months. I am sorry if it to this long in answering each of you, but it has been "one heck of a time" these past few months. Please accept my apology in being so late in returning! My mother is better, but her age has put a big toll on her life and it is just a matter of time to get her better. She is 84 and and in good spirits tho! I want to especially thank Maureen and Guido, both are like family to both Cindy and I! They have helped us and no words can can explain how grateful I am to have them by our "sides." About my web site... I am at present rebuilding it and it will much better. It just burns me, when you spend time in trying to make something good for mankind..a "rotten apple" in the bunch ruins the rest! I will let you all know when it will be in operation. I hope it will be at the end of the weekend(local time). Once again, thanks to each and everyone that was there during this time and it is greatly appreciative. Also, I want to thank Igor in letting me "express" this! Bart btw... Hope to see you all at MMM!!

Here is some more information about IExpress There are limits, when IExpress extracts the files to a temporary directory and runs an installation command it watches the command it ran. When this process is finished, IExpress removes its temporary files from the drive. Often times you see (Mcafee's Anti-Virus 4.0.3 for Windows 95 is an example), the installation application will spawn multiple installation programs while running. IExpress will attempt to delete all of the temporary files, thus stopping the installation that is running by way of a crash in most cases. If you choose to only extract files, you cannot include a directory structure. The files in IExpress extract to one directory only and will not allow creation of a structure on the drive. There is no security in the file, the files compressed in your output executable cannot be stored with a password and can be extracted by anyone who has decompression software for cabinet files. Some command line switches: /Q Specifies quiet mode, or suppresses prompts, when files are being extracted. This switch does not suppress prompts when Windows Update Setup is running. /Q:U Specifies user-quiet mode, which presents some dialog boxes to the user. /Q:A Specifies administrator-quiet mode, which does not present any dialog boxes to the user. /C:<UNC location> Specifies the path and name of the Setup .inf or .exe file. /R:N Never restarts the computer after installation. /R:A Always restarts the computer after installation. /R:S Restarts the computer after installation without prompting the user. /T:<directory path> Specifies the target folder for extracting files.

Fred... Look hard at IrfanView! It can capture a AVI at a given time or even by click of a mouse. (Look under the slideshow options and you can see the options there) Good Luck and hope this helps Bart btw.. I have not tried it, but it looks promising

My request is... For picturestoexe to continue being the best and affordable software. For creations of computer presentations, screensavers, and (S)VCD shows! And of course...ALL the above too!

Hmmmm You guys did not leave me a word or two to express my feelings to Al!! Ditto...to you sir and may the next 1000th posts be even better and exciting not only to us, but to you as well! Keep up the good work Bart
-
Bill.. I would suggest that you archive them on a CD/RW and if someone request one..you can put it up on a temp. basis and after a certain time, you can erase the CD for another archive or use! My suggestion may not be the best, but that is "my two cents" Bart

Roger.. Welcome to the forum!! Just a note..it might be few hours until WnSoft gets your payment because WnSoft is based out of Russia! Just "Hang In There" and be patient! Also we are all here to help you Bart

To Ed and others that need a little guidance The resolution of a NTSC VCD is 352x240 pixels SVCD is 480x480 DVD is 704 or 720 x 480 The resolution of a PAL VCD is 352x288 pixels PAL SVCD is 480x576 DVD is 704 or 720 x 576 PhotoVCD Not a standard by itself, this term is used when a group of image files are placed on a VCD and displayed in a format like a slideshow. There are two ways of doing this with VCD 2.0 technology: 1) Import the pictures into a video editing program, adding optional music and transition effects as desired. The time between pictures is decided by the filmmaker, not the viewer. The result is output as a VCD or even SVCD motion video file and authored like any motion video to VCD or SVCD. The resolution is limited to VCD 352x240 NTSC, 352x288 PAL or SVCD 480x480 NTSC, 480x576 PAL which may appear grainy or low resolution compaired to the original pictures. 2) Author a photo VCD 2.0 disc encoding each picture as a still MPEG at 704x480 NTSC, 704x576 PAL. This allows better resolution but (probably) lacks transition effects. The resulting collection of still MPEG images can be authored with difficulty in VCDimager/VCDeasy or you can use a program that automates the whole process from images to disc like Ulead DVD Pictureshow. SVCD 'Super VideoCD'. A SVCD is very similiar to a VCD, it has the capacity to hold about 35-60 minutes on 74/80 min CDs of very good quality full-motion MPEG-2 video along with up to 2 stereo audio tracks and also 4 selectable subtitles. A SVCD can be played on many standalone DVD Players and of course on all computers with a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive with the help of a software based decoder / player. VCD 'Video Compact Disc' Basically it is a CD that contains moving pictures and sound. If you're familiar with regular audio/music CDs, then you will know what a VCD looks like. A VCD has the capacity to hold up to 74/80 minutes on 650MB/700MB CDs respectively of full-motion video along with quality stereo sound. VCDs use an encoding standard called MPEG-1 to store the video and audio. A VCD can be played on almost all standalone DVD Players and of course on all computers with a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive with the help of a software based decoder / player. ENJOY! Bart

Then the subtitles will automatically be displayed in most players. * Matrix Mixer can be used to amplify the sound of a video file. It also can mix stereo sound to multiple channels (useful for 4.1 and higher speaker sets). * Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher can be used to switch between two audio streams in a video file that has two audio streams. These types of video files are not very common. * GSpot is a tool that can tell you exactly which codecs are needed to play a certain video file. This is very helpful when you have troubles playing a video file. * FourCC Code Changer is a program for changing the FourCC code of a video file. The FourCC code is used to identify which codec should be used to decode the file. This tool is for expert users only. The file is 7.09 MB (zipped) ENJOY! Bart btw.... More will come
