I am not a video/audio expert, but this is my personal "guide" that I use when I am making a SVCD! This is what I have posted at my site. Hope this helps If you plan on doing your own encoding, purchase the best encoder you can afford. I personally use TMPGEnc Plus http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html to encode my AVIs. But your perference may differ. Remember, image is everything and if your image has artifacts, blockiness and noise, it will reflect upon the quality of your message. MPEG-1 The practical limits of MPEG-1 are 352 x 240 pixels at 1.152 Mbps to 3.0 Mbps. For CDROM wide distribution, use the Video CD bit rate of 1.152 Mbps video, 224k Stereo Audio at a 44,100 sample rate. The resultant MPEG-1 files will play at 30 fps on a Pentium 120 minimum. The Video CD bit rate allows approximately one hour to be placed on a CDROM. Higher bit rates will yield better image quality, but less time on a CDROM and slow playback on older slower machines. Also, MPEG files are fully scaleable, even to full screen on a newer faster machine. Software MPEG-1 encoding from an .avi file can yield high quality MPEG-1 files if the .avi is captured uncompressed. Also, render the .avi out at the end of editing at 352 x 240 as uncompressed as possible. Digital formats can be software encoded or rendered back out the to digital tape format and encoded on a real time encoder. MPEG-2 MPEG-2 is 720 x 480 and from 4.0 Mbps to 15.O Mbps. A practical working bit rate is 5.0 Mbps, 224K Stereo at a 44,100 sample rate. Raise your bit rate to 6.0 Mbps if your files have a lot of motion, animations or detailed transitions. Bart

Thank you sir for the kind words!! Yes..it seems like yesterday when I first joined this forum( 3+years). The presentation was an "expertiment" I am trying... using the ogg format with some audio and video compression! The original one with a mp3 was about 8-9 megs! I am still "expertimenting" and maybe I can offer a better presentation in the future! About Sir Guido.. He is very busy all the time and I am "pushing his buttons" too much He will be in and out ...trust me, he will not let none of us down! Thanks again
-
Igor... I want to thank you again personally for a fine piece of software that everyone is enjoying, using, etc. on a daily basis! You my friend are reaching your 1000th forum member and that proves you are standing behind what you have developed! I can remember a few years back, the forum just had about 20 or so! (listening Guido ) Those days are long gone, but I have met wonderful people here throughout the world and you can not ask for anything better, than the members of this forum. Everyone is eagar to "lend their hand" in helping all! My hat once again comes off to you and all the hard work you have done! Bart

Hello Vinnie.. See if this is what you want! Example It is just something I made quickly, so you can see a example of the hyperlink in the object editor. (355 kb) You can also use the "copy and paste" option using the object editor and it will place whatever at the same location throughout your images. This is an "easy" way of placing images, hyperlinks, etc. Also...you need to be connected to the internet for the hyperlink to work! Hope this helps Bart

Paul.. I am glad you got your browser issue "corrected" Sorry if I was "short" with my suggestions/ideas!! I am working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and made a quick response after getting off work! Bart
-
Paul.. When you "test previewed" them..was you doing it locally or on your site? If you did this locally, your pictures are showing up from you hard drive. If you "test previewed" them on your site..check and see if your paths of your images are correct! Check your spelling, grammar, capitalization, etc. (IE 6 is case-sensitive in names) Another idea..Clear your cache and cookies. Last.. double check the bytes in the mages, files, etc! Hope this helps Bart
-
Al.. My congrads to a well documented tutorial! Now I can get help "locally" instead of waiting for a "long distance" answer from Guido! Bart
-

Hello everyone.. I have noticed in the this forum, some are concerned about the layout of the help file.. I have been "expertimenting" with a multimedia help file for everyone to checkout! The problem I am running into, is that I am not all that good in wording sentences! If I can can get a group of volunteers to help with this "project"..I will then compile it to a multimedia file. The format will be flash, because you can see the cursor movement, scrolls, etc! The link below is a short example I made in about 5 minutes and it does not have any wording! Multimedia Help If you have any questions, please let me know! Thanks, Bart
