PTE Made Easy tutorials - Continuously Updated
thedom replied to Lin Evans's topic in Tutorials & Video Lessons
Lin, the link for your "Basic Map Route Creation" tutorial (tut #8) seems to be broken. -
Actually, the link provided in my original post links to my previous website which is now closed. A new website is opened : http://thedom.fr The template, as the other free ones, can be downloaded in the free templates section of my new website. Or you can click here to directly access the "Ending Credits" template.

Did you try to open it from PTE : File - Open... (instead of double clicking the .pte file) ? Do you have an error message when you try to open it ? You might want to check the first lines of the .pte too (with notepad). Compare those lines with an other .pte project made with the same version of pte. You can send me the project if you want me to have a look.

Eire, here is the announcement : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11309&st=0&p=72906&fromsearch=1entry72906 But as Jim said, no release date yet.

I think Mary is talking about this 3D Photo Album. If you do not succeed or have time to make what you wish, the template should be available at the end of the week. But as Wideangle said, I am sure it will be more satisfying for you to do it by yourself. I think Peter gave you the tip needed. Good luck

Paul, The way nobeefstu describes how to proceed is how I make my templates. But as DG mentionned, if you are afraid of having the same names for different images : - make you first slideshow - for the next slideshows (using the original pte project), select each photography and replace the images used by clicking on the little folder icon in the properties tab (in the objects and animation window). - do not forget to save the projects with different names. It takes more time but it's more secure. Hope it helps.

Here is some warm during the middle of winter. The pictures in this slideshow were taken by my girlfriend and her sister in 2006. My sister in law lives there for 6 years. I have never been there but I plan a trip to tahiti next year. This slideshow is inspired by the opening credits sequence for the movie "Up in the Air". Thank you to Tom for sending me the link. Tahiti and Moorea Duration: 4 minutes Photography: 50 pictures Resolution: mainly 1600x1067 (some of them are only 1280x853) Screen ratio: 16/9

Considering my graphic card (Nvidia Geforce 9600 GS with latest driver) and my processor (Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.5Ghz), I am very surprised but it is jerky for me between slide #1 and #2...

Lin, Peter, thanks a lot. Ray, thank you. I rebuild my site to help my members. I'm really glad you like it and think it's improved. Tony, I changed the box. Thanks.

The title brought a lot of questions because Peter (fh1805) and Tony (wideangle) asked me the same question by PM. Actually, my mistake, I mean "out of boUnds". Thank you for pointing this out. It seems I have to improve my english.

Mike, If you put only one image per slide, this list is at the bottom of the main window. And you can switch from the default view to "classic view" (to see only the name of the main pictures) with CTRL+F1 (or click on View | Classic View) And go back to default view with CTRL+F2 (or View | Horizontal View) May be you could explain exactly what you want in order for nobeefstu to improve his utility...

How to customize the color border on an image object?
thedom replied to Don's topic in General Discussion
Hi Don, Welcome on board an congratulations for choosing the right software! The border feature in PTE is very basic. You can only choose the width and the color of your frame. What you could do for you frame question is to make the frame in photoshop. Then in PTE, use this frame image as a layer for each of your pictures. The frame layer will be of course put underneath each of your images. If your images have all the same format (3:2 by example), it will be very quick. And if you have portrait and landscape pictures to frame, just rotate the frame layer. Actually, my advice is to put the image and the frame layer as children of a same PTE frame object, like this : Frame ! !---> Your image ! !---> Frame Layer This way, if you want to move your image, just move the father object (Frame) and the frame layer will perfectly stay around the image. Hope it helps. -
Thanks Lumenlux and for those of you who already registered or just visited my website. As you can see on the map at the bottom of the frontpage, my website is visited by a lot of nationalities. And two people wrote me to tell me that they regret this website is not in french. To write in several languages and to maintain an international website needs a lot of work. And as I do it for a hobby, I apologize for this but I really do not have time. To help the visitors to understand what's written, I added a translator module at the top of the page. You just have to choose your language (more than 50 avalaible!) and the whole website will be translated. Of course, it's far from perfect because it is automatically generated but I hope it will help. I added a french section in the forum too. As french is my mother tongue, I will be able to answer the french visitors. If you need me to translate a specific page, do not hesitate to post your request.
