Hi Jerry, If you want the first 9 slides to be silent, add a silent sound to your playlist (in Project options > Music tab). To create this silent sound, you can use the free music editor Audacity.
-
Hi Jean, Yes, you can remove the older versions without any problem.

Please download the demo for a much better output quality. The template is available here.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it.

Some of you probably noticed that I haven't bee active on the forum for more than a month and that TheDom Sharing Place was unavailable. That's because I created a brand new website. TheDom Sharing Place & TheDom's Gallery are now definitely closed and it will be the same for TheDom Shop in a few days. Whole the content you could find on those websites is (almost) published on this new site. If you want to have a look, please go to : http://thedom.fr Do not hesitate post your comments and suggestions to help me to improve it. A lot of links still have to be updated, some minor modifications have to be done but I think I will be available soon to continue to share with you my creations made with PicturesToExe. A very happy Christmas to all of you.

In this slideshow, everything was done directly within PTE, no photoshopping at all. There are some 3D transformations but not overdone I think. I mixed portrait and landscape pictures (orientation), I hope in a natural way. Comments welcome. [ 20 pictures - 2 minutes and 30 seconds - 7.44Mb ]

If you want to make such a menu with your own pictures and text, the template is available HERE on TheDom Shop. The template is FREE. Please download the exe for a much better output quality than the video. -

Here is an other animation using the 3D transformation with some of my pictures from Japan. The pictures were blurred in an external editor. Comments welcome. [ 18 pictures - 2 minutes and 19 seconds - 12.5Mb ] -

Thanks! I didn't continue to work on this animation. I will try to release the template in two weeks, as usual in 4:3 and 16:9 screen ratio for 4:3 and 3:2 format pictures.

New Tutorial on 3D Cube Creation and Manipulation
thedom replied to Lin Evans's topic in General Discussion
The template is available HERE on TheDom Shop. It is FREE. -
I am afraid I will have to wait. There was a big spot on the viewfinder (but not on the pictures). I am afraid it's dust on the prism because there was nothing on the mirror. I send the camera back for the garantee to be applied. I will be able to play with my new toy only in 10/15 days.

How about some simple templates with demo?
thedom replied to backpack45scb's topic in Styles & Templates
RalphA, could you please givea link because I don't see this demo in the templates section. I agree with Peter, I don't think there is a need for such templates because you can do it in a few clicks. With the help of tutorials, you will be able to apply simple pans & zooms probably quicker and with more ease than you thought. -
Even if it's a good test, I don't think the 3D transformations are the worse torture test for a system. It seems this feature doesn't need a lot of power to be perfectly smooth. If you limit the number of objects per slide, it should be ok, even with rather old configuration. But you can try JPD's planet : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10758 ("more than 2300 objects in the same slide"). Actually, what is the most difficult to handle for your system is the mask feature : You can try my Trio reflection : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10147

Slide Show on Ladakh (vimeo video and file exe)
thedom replied to pisolomau's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Admiral, I started with you Ladakh gallery...and I watched every pictures on your whole website. Aboslutely amazing from start to end ! And very instructive ! Congratulations for the prices you received (and deserved ) Do you make photography for a living ? -
I received the "precious" today. The battery is loading right now. Just wanted to share my excitement. Xaver, I am completely aware of the limitation of my your 2-star lens. I read tons and tons of articles about it. But as I said, I consider it as a start and a all-in-one travel lens. Furthermore, I think a lens "recommnded" by dpreview shouldn't be so bad. Anyway, I will let you know what I think.

Keith, as Peter wrote in his FAQ, "your base PTE registration key is "for life" but your VideoBuilder key is "for two years only"". Please read his ful article for more details : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10579 It means you do not need a new licence key for version 6. In PTE, click on "Help" > "About PicturesToExe..." to see what licence you do have.

Slide Show on Ladakh (vimeo video and file exe)
thedom replied to pisolomau's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
For some of your pictures, I have really an impression of 3D when watching the exe ! What a difference with the video, thank you for sharing ! The idea is to fill up the whole screen with something different from black. Most of people are distracted by "black holes". Here is attached an example : the photo is blurred and is used as the background. It is displayed at 50% opacity. I set a vertical gradient color (Customize Slide > Main tab). And I choosed main colors of the original pic with the color picker. Of course, it's a matter of taste. portraitpic_Nov9-2009_21-06-36.zip -
Peter, in my opinion, you can apply a speed option different from linear when the animation changes. For example, try to apply a different speed option to the whole cube itself to deccelerate it at the end of slide 3 and accelerate it at the beginning of slide 4. You will need to create your own custom speed option : try 0 - 80 and 20-100. You could apply it to each row when it rotates too (beginning and end of rotation). In this case, smooth speed option will be ok. It's only little details but I think it's this kind of thing that contributes to a perfect animation.
-
Congratulations Peter for this work. I imagine easily the amount of time and effort. The result is great. It would be perfect for a nice screen saver. I think you used the linear speed options for rotation/pan & zoom. Instead of linear, if you set speed option to smooth (in O/A window, animation tab), I think the result will be even better with less abrupt animation.

The issue I had with "fast reply" (icons expanded) is now fixed. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. Yes, a template can be expected.

Oops, yes i did.

John, I have Vista 64 bits and no problem either. I would recommend you to install PTE v6 to see if it changes anything : http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/picturestoexe-setup.zip
-
Just FYI, I can reproduce the problem too (vista sp2). I'm afraid we have to wait unitl Igor's back. Fortunately it's a major issue as the "blur" disappears as soon as you close and reopen the O/A window.

Chris, here is the direct link to download the last version (v.6.0) : http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/picturestoexe-setup.zip
