I think everybody is holding is breath waiting for this new version, which might explain why there is not a lot of activity in the forum for some time. All my support for the last adjustments to you and your team.

Neil, Dan, glad you like it. Actually, I didn't use any photo editor. Everything is directly done in PTE. For the border, I used PTE rectangles for the lines and for the corners, Frames and Borders fonts (free) I found on 1001fonts.com. For the texts, I used Vivaldi fonts (installed by default on my system with my version of Windows XP) and for the capitals, Fleur Corner Caps which is also a free font you can download on dafont.com. The flicker effect is actually just a very quick rotation of 2 masks to give the illusion. For the shaking, I could have used a system of father-child frame objects with center offset but as I wanted to be "natural", it's only several manual keyframes I set.

A fun way to comment your pictures. The demo can be downloaded here on my website.

Hi Igor, I'm really happy to read this great news ! Congratulations for your work - you and your team - and your endless motivation to always improve this wonderful software. And thank you to anticipate the announce of this new release and letting us know. JPD, as far as I know, the latest public news on the subject can be found here : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7846

I totally agree. Now we can save current shadow as template : O/A window | "Common" tab | "Customize" button | "Drop shadow templates" button | "Save current shadow as template..." It would be a nice addition if we could save current text as template too (including font, color, size, position, line spacing, alignment, shadow, etc...).

Andrew, You can try TransferBIGFiles.com ( http://transferbigfiles.com/ ) In their FAQ, you can read : Good luck with the upload !

Colin, I don't think there is a way to customize text settings right now. But what you could do in PTE is to create a text with your settings and copy/paste this text on the slides. You would only have to put it whereever you want and modify your text as you need. Hope it helps.

Thank you for your comments guys. Actually, I noticed that there might be a problem with not enough powerfull videocard. The result is not the same on my desktop and on my laptop which has a weaker videocard. What videocard do you have ? Unless you're talking about something else... ?

Ron, Silvia, I modified Silvia's attachment. I removed Ron's pictures and removed my PTE project.

Here is a new demo I started yesterday evening. I tried to simulate in a realistic way an old movie effect : start and acceleration of the roll film, flickering light, animated scratches, shivering, etc... Duration : 1 minute - 1,89 Mo Download the demo in my Demos section.

I had the opportunity to discuss with Proshow users and one of the main reason why they do not choose PTE is because it can not include videos directly. Now, when you buy a camera, it has the ability to make photos AND videos. That's why I think a lot of people want to have this possibility to include both medias in their slideshows. Even if it's not our personal taste, it's a fact that we can not deny.

[FREE] Books, Sweep, Merry Go Round, Rotation, Swivel, Descent effects
thedom replied to thedom's topic in Styles & Templates
Here are two new templates (two of my old templates improved) : - Swivel v2 : template - demo - Descent v2 : template - demo This third template was posted originally in my first post above but as I added pictures in this first post and you're not authorized to include more than 10 pics per post, here it is again : - Frame animation v2 : template - demo -
If I remember correctly, I think Igor said in an earlier post that the font will be included in the exe in a future version. UPDATE : here is the link : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry47630 and http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....ost&p=47754 But I'm not completely sure what Igor said means what I wrote above.

A Useful Addition for PTE I think...
thedom replied to Lin Evans's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
If I understand correctly the request, actually you just have to open the "Timeline" window and look for "End of the Last slide" that indicates the length of the show. But I agree, it would be more convenient if you would have this information directly available in the main window. Probably in v5.2 ? -
Hi Harry, I have uploaded several PTE presentations on YouTube ( http://fr.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=thedom2005&p=r ) but I'm not sure I answer your question...

thedom replied to thedom's topic in Styles & Templates
Wideangle, Ray, Judy, thanks for your comments. I will probably released an other couple of free (old) templates in the following week. -
Steve, I just made the test and it works perfectly.
-
Hi Steve, Actually, I think it's possible. You just have to untick "Pause when window of slide show becomes inactive" (in Project Options | Main tab) I will make a test and will confirm ... or not .

I'm not sure because if the Blu-ray consortium wants to replace the DVD format and be able to sell high definition equipment, they have to be competitive. A lot of people were waiting for a single HD format to invest in HD. I guess the blu-ray sales will increase now (for a same movie, the sales in this format represents now a tiny % compared to DVD) and let's hope it will allow to decrease the price for the mass production of disks in this format. And there is VOD which might be a even more bigger competitor than HD-DVD... Objectively, even if I invested in blu-ray, it seems HD-DVD was a better format for the end-user. More competitive for the prices (disk support and disk reader), technologically more advanced for interactive features and no region coding. Anyway, let's see what's happening now...

Hi Uwe, As Lin said, this feature is not included in PTE features but you can use Granot's utility : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4103 You will need HideTaskBar by Marcovelo too : http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8054 Do not hesitate to ask for more help if you need more details on how to use those tools with PTE.

Henri, you can send me a PM to tell me your email address and I will send you the template.

Connection impossible serveur regnow.com
thedom replied to quicksilver's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately I don't think there is an other way to buy the software than on regnow.com. But may be you can get in touch directly with Igor to ask him a solution. -
Hi David, I just discovered by accident your message. Unless I missed it, you didn't send me an email asking for support. Am I right ? Actually The Stage is a FREE PTE project avalaible on TheDom Sharing Place and there is no template to buy avalaible in the catalog on TheDom Shop. It's just a project on which Lin and I worked together about one year ago and I share the PTE project as many others. Movie Intro is a stand alone animation (template to buy) and you do NOT have anything to add (pictures, text) to produce the final result. As described on the website, "Just copy the slides at the beginning of your slideshow. That's it !". Do not hesitate to ask for support if you need. But as Lin said, may be you have to learn how to use PTE first. I recommend you to go to this page : http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/useful.htm Wnsoft made a list of the links to the tutorials available. Hope it helps.

Freddy, Here is a very simple PTE project attached that shows how to highlight successively different zones of the screen. Actually, it's just a simple animation of the mask fh1805 explained above. But you could animate a hand pointer as well, depending on what you want to achieve exactly. Hope it helps. ForFreddy.zip
