Jean-Pierre, I don't see any pte project in your archive, only the exe. I don't want to bother you but I would really like the see how you made.
-
Jean-Pierre, There is a file missing in your file "Filet/Lines and border (album) : démo et tutoriel ". It's the "41x41.bmp" file.
-
Thanks Jean-Pierre for the PTE project ! I updated the link and the title of the file to "....v2" (with an "updated" icon). I noticed you added a shape with 12 sides That's absolutely amazing ! For everybody, go download JPD's files on his site, there a lot of great stuff there ! (Btw, there is a broken link for your file "Pêcheur / Mise en boite (exe)").

Ooops, yes, I removed accidently the .zip extension. It should be ok now. Thank you for lettting me know.

Here is a demo which is a classic photocollage effect. [click on the image to directly access the donload page] [filesize : 2.08 Mb] It was done with the help of the excellent photoshop action "synthesis" by Panos that you can download here on http://panosfx.com (you need to register before downloading the action). I plan to release a template for this effect. I guarantee that, with the template, it will take you less than 3 minutes from start (your original image) to end (animation in PTE finished) to make this effect. But before releasing a template, I would like your opinion on this animation : is it too fast, too slow, do you want me to add other effects (zoom, opacity...), ... or any other suggestions... Thanks for your feedback. UPDATE : Free template now avalaible [click on the image to directly access the donload page] [filesize : 383 Ko] Hope you will like it.

To be sure to do not forget files, just use the "Create Backup in ZIP" feature (in PTE, click on file and you will find this option).
-
John, You can NOT upload files more than 2MB. What I propose to do is the following : - you upload the file somewhere (dropload, yousendit, megaupload, etc...) - once done, you send me the link - I upload it on my webspace - I send you the link - You post your file with this link and with your own description Is it ok for you ? When do you plan to make you first file avalaible ?
-
Hi fish, With your permission, I now host your presentation on my site here. Even if it's not avalaible on Beechrook in a couple of weeks, people can still download it there. By the way, I only kept the .exe in the archive. Because there are a lot of file missing in your zip. The PTE project cannot be used.

Don't worry Ron, your tutorials are still there. Actually, I modified the "PTE tutorials" categorie. Now there are two distinct sub-categories : - Tutorials : Full tutorials about PicturesToExe v5.xx - Documentation : Guides, tutorials, tips, how to on a specific point of PicturesToExe v5.xx Yours tutorials are now in the documentation sub-categorie. I added sub-categories too for the useful files categorie and for the useful tutorials categorie. Btw, if you can help me to improve the name of those categories and their descriptions, I would really appreciate.

Thanks guru for your comment. I'm afraid there is A LOT of work to update your website. And you have to do it in three langages ! First modification to make : add a link to my site. I noticed your pages are static (html). That's why I love PHP. Modifications are made in seconds.

I don't think so, my black filmstrips don't have any text on it and I think it's a very nice improvement. Just two minor suggestions for your show : - remove the pixelate shadow of your text, set a "regular" one - add a transition (a slow fade by example) beetween your introduction and the beginning of the pan. With your permission, I will host your show on my site. Do you agree ?

John, I just created a new section for this kind of files called "Work in progress". Unless you have difficulties to upload your files, I will leave you the exclusivity to announce the releases. Files are immediately published and don't need my approval.

Gary, I don't know if you finished your coffee but is it the effect you were thinking of ? (see file attached) ForGary.zip

The archive includes now two templates : Depending on the effect you want to have - FAST version : transition effect : 2 sec, image displayed : 3.5 sec - SLOW version : transition effect : 4 sec, image displayed : 5 sec You can mix the templates and use fast AND slow slides in the same project. The demo included in the archive is an example of mixed fast and slow slides. Please, have a look at the readme file included in the archive, there are important instructions. You can read this topic

Very nice Ron, I really like the concept. If I refer to this test, I'm a "Genius" (I'm really proud of my score because it's not so obvious for me to do it in english). Back to v5 now !

Lumenlux, IMHO, you slideshow looks like to much as a promo show for JPD's template. I think the 3D cube is too present. In my opinion, you could play with the cube, put it in different corners, zoom it, pan it, etc... and not on each slide. Our attention is polarized on the cube and we don't see your beautiful pictures any more. And the transition beetwen the cubes are too abrupt. But I like the way you introduce new photos deformed and rotating. The part I prefer is the end of your slideshow (3 last slides) with a good integration of the cube with your pictures. I hope you won't think my comment is too cruel...

I really like it, especially the way you present the other pictures. Really nice. Did you make the filmstrip by yourself ? PS : thank you for the direct link to your show on Beechbrook.

Damned, you go further and further !! Your technique is really really impressive Jean-Pierre. I would really like to have a look at your PTE project... Unless you do not agree, I will post your file on my site (only a link to it).

I totaly agree, this effect is not supposed to be used for a whole slideshow but only occasionaly for a couple of slides. The time display is not really customisable... until the "spread keypoints" feature is activated (for the final release I think). You can add pan/zoom/rotate on the picture (see "readme" file in the archive). Right now, the animation is 2 sec long and the images are displayed for 3.5 secs. Could you please tell me what would be the right timing for you ? I will include a "slow" version. Thank you, I modified my description. And thanks for your feedback.

No problem for me to host your files. I think it's a good way to share to have everything on the same site. Members of my site can : - upload a file (up to 2mb) on my webspace - post a file with a link to their file hosted somewhere else (on their own webspace by example). In this case, there is no limit for filesize. Whatever the method used, it's completely transparent for people. For each file hosted or posted, there is a download counter. It's a good way to verify that your file is useful for others (I realized this way that my last photoshop action is not what most people are looking for). Members and guest can leave comments and rate your file. Very convenient to improve it.

It's avalaible here It's avalaible here I recommend you have a visit at my site (links in my signature), you will find a lot of useful resources for your slideshows.

Here is a template for a new "transition effects" for 2 pics. It's a kind of "sweep" effect. See the thumbnail. What I can tell you is that it is NOT a simple Pan & Zoom, there is a "circle animation" effect for both pictures (with graduate opacity). [click on the thumbnail to directly access the download page ] You can use this template for landscape and portrait pictures, whatever their sizes (I recommend 1024 width or less). Compared to my initial try (see here - thanks a lot to those who gave me their feedback ), I finally slowed down the effect a little bit. If it's still not satisfying, please do not hesitate to tell me. UPDATE : The archive includes now two templates : Depending on the effect you want to have - FAST version : transition effect : 2 sec, image displayed : 3.5 sec - SLOW version : transition effect : 4 sec, image displayed : 5 sec You can mix the templates and use fast AND slow slides in the same project. The demo included in the archive is an example of mixed fast and slow slides. Please, have a look at the README file included in the archive, there are important instructions. Enjoy !

Ok, Gary, I found the error you made. I'm sure you gonna be ashamed ! For "action on mouse click" for your buttons, you choosed "Run application and EXIT". That's what PTE does, it runs the slideshow and exits the menu ! For your menu, you have to choose "Run application or open file... ". An other suggestion for a perfect result : - download HideShowTaskBar and unzipp the archive (It's a tool to 'Hide TaskBar during PTE show' - Made by Marcovelo - Thanks to granot for hosting it and other great tools for PTE - Go visit http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com/) - in PTE, for the first slide of your menu : choose "Customize slide..." > "Main" Tab > "Advanced Options" > check "Run external application" and choose HideTaskBar.exe. This way, you don't see the TaskBar.

Ok Gary, You can send your zip file to thefreedom@[no_spam]free.fr (remove [no_spam])

I made a new "transition effects" for 2 pics. It's a kind of "sweep" effect. [click on the thumbnail to directly access the download page ] But please tell me what you think, possible improvements, if it's too fast... If you like it, I'm gonna make a template (a really user friendly one ). Thanks for your feedback.
