  1. Thanks! Not sure how I missed it. I thought I looked there. Guess my eyes are getting old.
  2. Sometime around Feb. 1 Igor provide a demonstration of a new "Album" style for PTE 9. I am not finding it in either the Slide Styles selections. I also looked in the Slide Transitions just in case but it was not in either place. Not talking about the Wedding Album style recently posted by Lin but that one referenced in this thread: https://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19798-album-style/ It is certainly not listed under the "Wedding" category of the styles list and I couldn't find it under any of the other categories.
  3. Not sure where this should go since it isn't about a beta version but the new release. I downloaded and installed according to the defaults (on Win10 home). My last beta install was Beta 14 and I allowed the install to copy my settings from there. The program loaded and attempted to play the automatic video that loads at the initial install. All I got was the frame and a black square in the middle. It never loaded and I received the following error: Exception EAssertionFailed in module PicturesToExe.Exe at 0000AE1F. I had to let Windows shut down the program and restarted it. It opened fine but the video did not display this time (I assume it only displays on the first install). I loaded the "Sample Project" and it displayed just fine.
  4. I used to make DVDs for sale when I was doing horseback riding event photography, but I haven't done that for about 3 years. Now when doing presentations for friends and family, I simply connect my laptop to a TV via HDMI and run the .exe. High quality and easy to do. Haven't run into any situations where they have old TVs without HDMI inputs. And only one format of presentation to do. Occasionally, though, I do .mp4s for showing on Facebook or Instagram.
  5. Thanks for all the hard work you have put into this and especially for sharing it with us. Much appreciated!
  6. Nicely done, Mark! Amazing waterfalls. I like the subtle zooming. And I loved the bit with the horses. Icelanding horses are so adorable.
  7. What can I say? Amazing landscape, incredible lighting and beautiful photography -- all put together in a show that I can watch over and over. Thank you for sharing!
  8. Thanks, Lin! At the moment, I am using it to pan through single image panos for posting on Instagram, but your suggestion will be helpful in the future.
  9. I was able to create a 1080 x 1080 video (of a panorama) for use in Instagram by setting the "Virtual Size of Slide" in the "Screen" tab (after searching for a while) but it would be nice to be able to just pick 1:1 aspect ratio on the "Main Tab". P2E is handy for creating videos of panoramas (or anything else) that you want to display taking advantage of the full height and width allowed in Instagram. I don't use "i" products so the "Instapan" app isn't an option plus it has limited controls.
  10. Thanks for your generosity in sharing these styles, Dave! I am going to try to create a show using one of them as the opening screen overlaid with a title. I appreciate your work!
  11. Fantastic puffin shots! I also love the shot of the lupines and some of the early iceberg pictures. My only comment is that some of the shots are quite grainy and might benefit from some noise reduction. Lovely show overall.
  12. MUR, I downloaded your template and was able to unzip and open it. I believe everything worked as you intended it to and I am most appreciative of the time and effort you put into this template. The instructions and tutorial were quite clear. I am a bit short on time at the moment, but I feel that when I do have the time to create another project I will be able to create a "virtual" book based on your instructions. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. I know that it was not a simple task.
  13. MUR, Thanks you so much for this tutorial! It is very helpful and I can see that you put a great deal of thought and work into it. If you have the time to make some templates, that would be wonderful!
  14. Patrick, Magnificent show! Your photography of this amazing place is quite stunning. Now I want to go there. And I especially loved the opening screen! Thank you for sharing this show.
  15. Also, if you have Photoshop CC (and possibly the latest version of Elements), you can edit video clips there and apply any of the standard filters (either a curves or a levels adjustment, for example) to the entire clip or just to a single frame.
  16. Loved your show, Jeff! We were up in that area 3 times this past summer and I never tire of it. Didn't get to do the Halls Crossing Ferry, though, as it was closed for about 6 months and didn't open again until late September. We spent a night in Bluff and toured the Pioneer Museum. In fact, we got to experience the amazing story of the Mormons' journey from the Escalante end, the Bluff side and then at the "Hole in the Rock" from Lake Powell itself. Can't wait to see part 2 and Capitol Reef. I love that place! Let me know if you will be in AZ this winter and maybe we can get together for a photo shoot.
  17. Thanks, Andrew. Works as expected, although I'm always hesitant about running macros in downloaded files in Excel. Peter, You might also be interested in this utility which was written many versions back by one of our members, Stu Rands. Haven't seen him around here lately, so I will take the liberty of attaching the file here. After unzipping it, read the instructions. Basically, you just have to pick a .pte file and it will also create a report for you. It probably misses some of the newest features of Pictures to Exe, but the slidelist and accompanying report seems fine. One of the nice things about it is that you can generate either a straight text file listing or a nicely formatted html file including snapshots of your images, which I find really helpful. The utility used to be listed on the old "Beechbrook" download site, but I wasn't able to find anything in the archive now contained on Slideshowclub since there doesn't seem to be a search facility. Anyway, here's the file and Stu, if you're still hanging around here, thanks again for creating the utility (and I hope you don't mind me uploading it here)! Reporter v2.zip
  18. As always, a most enjoyable presentation, Maureen! The colors were beautiful. It seems you lucked out on the weather. Great photography and a well put-together show. I don't always take the time to comment, but I always download and save all of your shows. Thanks for sharing this one.
  19. Lovely show, Denis. The photography was just gorgeous. The opening panorama of the town reflected in the water was just stunning. I loved the calving glacier. I am struck by now much the scenery in Patagonia (which I have not visited) resembles Alaska, which I have visited many times. My only negative comment was that I thought the music was a little strange. It went along slowly and smoothly and then suddenly became quite jarring, but perhaps that's as you meant it to be. I also loved the opening plane animation. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Thanks, Barry! Very informative and inspired me to take a real look at Bridge, which I admit to never using because I have always used other photo/thumbnail management programs. I see some real possibilities here which I had overlooked. Appreciate your posting this PDF.
  21. I have Win 8.1 and run the built-in "Windows Defender" security/anti-virus protection. Mostly I use IE11 to browse. I usually get the following message but ONLY under the following circumstance: when downloading with IE11 there is a little status box thing at the bottom of the browser window which shows downloads in progress. After the download has completed, it gives you the option to "Open" the download. If I click on "Open" (I am talking about downloading a zip file here containing an executable), I see a blue overlay that says "Windows protected your PC .. Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk." There is a "More info" link which you can then click on which allows you to open or run the program anyway. However, if I ignore the download status box and go directly to the folder where I have downloaded the zip file, I can open it and run the PTE executable with no warnings or messages. So I don't need to extract the executable from the folder. In the case of the "internet safe" PTE files, I have no choice but to extract both included files before I can click on the .EXE to run them. To me, that is more of an annoyance and although I haven't yet uploaded any files to Slideshow Club, the ones I make for distribution to friends are made with straight single .EXE files to avoid extra steps in viewing the files.
  22. Barry, Thanks for sharing this video with us. And sorry for your loss. It seems like Bob had quite the sense of humor and I'm sure you will miss his companionship. I hope he is looking down and knows that his video has put a smile on our faces.
  23. Thanks Tom! Appreciate your effort in making the application of this type of effect so much easier.
  24. Perfect, Dave! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Studying the template has been a great learning experience. I appreciate it!
  25. 16:10 AR (I don't like cropping my pictures) 8 horizontal, 6 vertical (or whatever numbers close to this which are easiest to work with) I have tried doing it with the built-in "Mosaic" transition but never can get the effect I want. I like your puzzle transition but would just like square blocks. Thanks Dave!
