Hi Anne, is there a possibility that your anti virus/ firewall is blocking the exe file from running from the CD? The word illegal, tends to point to these things. Also the other night I was running a programme which needs to access a CD, I for got to close it and used the drive to test a cd I had just burned, lo and behold! "illegal operation" and "cannot find the .dll thingy" popped up. It was looking for the other programme on the burned disc. This was because the programme takes uver the drive until the programme is closed. One more thing, do you think we need a "good food" section on this forum? Best wishes, Alan

Hi Ken, now I know what your email name means . I agree with what you say, here in the EU we have rules about the shape of our bannanas The law may be an ass, but it holds the keys to the jail I will grab any opertunity to show my work, such as it is, but you can't help worry about the little guy with the clip board hiding in the lasy row . Now if they chased the spamers with the same vigour,..... Alan -

Hi All, Should we all be happy too, if someone takes our images or shows and uses them without our ok? So long as they give us credit, do they need to pay us for the image? We should be happy that we are getting the recognition for the image, and perhaps someone one day might buy an image or hire us to photograph for them. This may not bother us amatures but ask our professional buddies in this forum. People like MCPS are ther to protect the people they represent, and alas, we shall have to live with that. I like Maureens idea of a seccond supercircut, if it's done right, it could be part of an A/V weekend where people meet and share ideas. Time to get the thinking caps on Alan -

Firstly, Congratulations to all, Again we ate dealing with copyright. Al is right, entry emplys the author has the right to publicly display the work. But this does not remove onus from others handling the copy. The licence we have in Ireland allows us to enter such competitions and to show to audiences for non profit events. While posting on the web is a great way to show your work you have no control over coppies or distibrution, or indeed what the work is used for. What we need is a "closed loop" where work can be circulated between forum members and their camera clubs. A non competitive supercircut? Let me think more and I'll post an idea and we can see what we come up with, Oh! by the way Only 364 days till the next supercircut starts Twice that for the RPS International Thought that would bring ye all down with a bump Alan -
Hi Molelyn, I had a simmilar problem some time back and eventually traced it to the cd burning software which was attached to the drive. The ols solution seemed to work i.e. uninstall - re install. all worked fine after that. Alan

Hi Maureen, 20! I can certainly say that 30. I hope you enjoy 77 to Shannon and have 84 while there. If we hit the bottle too early we could be 34 on Saturday and 46 on Sunday. But even if it turns out to be 49, by Sunday evening we will all say 74 . If any other members are wondering what's going on here and who's to blame, then all I'll say is 92! Alan -
sorry Ron, You can't rely on these cheep key boards can you 1024 is the one. mank vou merry yuch Alan

teefot, Welcome to the forum. Most of your learning will be done here so keep a weather eye on these pages. Now for the title slide. The manufactured ones have been delt with by the other 2, but I would like to suggest you also look for titles on location. Where they may not always be the answer they can add atmosphere to the show, Best wishes, Alan

Also if you want to project the show then the slide should be 1027 pixels across the top. I then let aspect ratio deside the drop. But check that all images in the show are of the same size, or they will look arkward on the screen, Alan

Hi Travis, Would the following work? Your intro show has say 5 slides. You don't sync the show, so you don't use the timeline. Slides are set as follows 1. "Play new music" 2-4 "Conitnue to play music" 5. No music sellected. "Keep last slide on screen" Buttons then use the "Run Application" option. This should have the music end at slide 4 and present slide 5 for the selection of buttons. I'll have to make an intro for the Irish Nationals next month, so I would be interested in your success or lack of Best of luck Alan P.S. to Al Robinson. Just to remind you that sleepless nights start tonight as the supercircut gets underway tomorrow

Hi Dave, Tell him to have a look at "Movies to DVD and CD" from magix.com. I have used this before and it is quite easy to get a grip of. It is now at the bargin bin stage and is a good intro to theis type of programme. I bought mine for 19 euro last year! Regards, Alan

Hi Igor, I've red through the points raised and I think the following is the way to go. We edit our sound in a sound programme. We edit our pictures in an image editor. That way P2E can consintrate on delivering the final show. The additions I would like to see are: Images in the time line with the transitions made by cross fade lines as used in music editors. The fade area would then have a button to select an effect. Lock an image to a point in the time line. This would also be handy for a selection of images (from slide x-z in this time frame). Lock objects in the editor so they maintain their positions on the image when res. is changed. A statue erected to you and your team where ever Audio Visual workers meet Enjoy the trip to France, Thanks for everything, Alan

Hi Ron, I had a look at your show the weekend. Thanks for the trip to Lille. My son however is a railway buff and he thought that this great railway show was ruined by all the shots of the side of buildings I shall if you wish, introduce him to the front end of the Cork express as it passes through our local station. Best wishes, Alan

Hi Maureen, Sod No.79 what about sweet 16, never been kissed? Also I have some 12 year old Bushmills litteraly with my name on it. A birthday present from mammy . I'll try to email you a drop, or you could pick it up in Shannon Alan -
Hi "Tex" Ken, and the rest of the gang, Just got back from a busy weekend prepering for our nationals. Recording and mixing late into the night. Having such a good idea about meeting while you were in bed, shows how important it is to spend as much time there as possible. We may never all meet in the one room but we can meet in passing. We had a wonderful visit from Al & Liz Robinson to Dublin in June this year and met for a meal and a chat, then a sipn in the Wicklow mountains. I have a shot of Al & Liz on the bridge at Glencree, which is in my "Glencree" show. I now have them "on location" at Glencree. I thought this would start a collection of photos of you in my show or me in your show. How many would we all collect in a year or a lifetime. I alsa don't own a hotel, but I am always happy to meet anybody who happens to be passing through. On that, anyone passing through Shannon on October 16-17th the IPF A/V Nationals will be in the Oak Lodge Hotel Shannon. Just 5 mins from the airport One more thing to all. Why not fill in your location? We don't need your address, just your area as below, Regards, Alan

Hi Beth, In the effects window there is a check box top left, "Use own effects" I think it's called. This lets the slide bypass the project options and have it's own transition, display time, ect. If this box is checked, and you have set the display time "for ever' then the slide will do that, stay on for ever This would be handy if you wanted to loop ashow to show every 30 mins in a info center, but a pain if you do it by accident and can't find the off switch At least now after the old show test you now know the problem is in this show. Hope the mystery is solved, Alan
-
Hi All, I think the use of the word object is causing confusion here. What i would do is create a show for the last 4 slides from each show and also for the first 4 slides for each. You would then have "start A,B or C" and "end A,B or C". (6 mini shows) you could then play each against the other till you found the mix you liked. Also have a search in the forum for the use of buttons to launch shows. It is not what you are after but another option, Alan
-
You dont need a path name if both are on the same cd. In "Run application after last slide" when you browse, you need to delete all path names and leave only the "next Show" part. You can also test this before burning by putting them in the same folder on your HD to see if the link will run. So once there are no sub folders you dont need paths, Alan
-
Hi Beth, You may have a conflict between "Project Options" and "Slide Options". Check if the slide option for the last slide agrees with the project option. One may say close while the other may say keep the last slide on screen, Alan
