  1. Hi Tom I tried GFE but having previously used Camtasia didn't find it user friendly. So I downloaded OBS which looked very similar to Camtasia without the bells & whistles. However, when I tried it I fell at the first fence & couldn't record a YT video. Had my 2nd Pfizer jab last Tuesday, maybe it's slowed my brain? I'll have another try tomorrow. BTW my Camtasia ran out a few years ago & I didn't fancy paying for an up-grade as I didn't use it that much. Regards Rosy.
  2. Thanks Dave, first time I've tried it so it's a bit daunting. I had GFE installed but never tried it, thought it was just to play games Thanks for the heads up. Rosy.
  3. Thanks Igor I have a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER™ but not sure how to get the capture app? Rosy.
  4. Hi Has anyone used this for screen capture, it's supposed to be free? OBS Screen Capture software. Rosy.
  5. Hi Tom I think it may be wireless printing it gives problems with? Rosy.
  6. Hi Jim

Just seen your name pop up on the forum & noticed you aren't far from us, We live in Hesketh Bank. Wondered if you have an AV group near you?

    Regards Rosy.

      Hi Rosy

I'm in Crosby Camera Club and while we don't have a group as such we do have about a half dozen members that enter AVs in our yearly comp. Not sure about this year as everything is being done on Zoom.

However there was a very good group based in Ainsdale. I'll see if it is still runnuing and get back to you, if you like.

      Hi Jim

I was a member of the Ainsdale group but it eventually faded out. Not sure if it's still active, but it was fragmented & very small. The guy who ran it had a projection room in his back garden, which was great, but the meetings eventually faded away, not sure if due to illness.

      Thanks anyway.

      Rosy.

      Sorry Rosy,

That was the group I was talking about. Good hunting.

  7. Just read this, haven't tried printing anything but if you print regularly, suggest you read this. Rosy Windows 10 Up-date.
  8. Hi Rosemary Go Panasonic, most of their range offer variable aspect ratios. Rosy.
  9. Hi Tom All the major manufacturers in the UK such as Jaguar / Land Rover are switching to electric production. Before I bought the Picasso, I looked at the new Citroen Ami Ami & the Renault Twizy which looks a really fun car to drive. The Citroen isn't available in the UK yet, but I'm sure it will go down big if it comes with RHD & it was in my budget. After looking at the YT reviews I decided it was too big a switch (no pun intended) ami Rosy.
  10. Hi Tom I think Citroen had their tongues in their cheeks when they made that claim. I seem to remember from my trips to the US the Ram was a Dodge? Their panel vans were everywhere the first time I went. The UK is supposed to be stopping selling cars with internal combustion engines in the future. I hope they've got their sums right when they say the world will be a better place without I.C. Rosy.
  11. After much head scratching, I think I've sorted the problem. The original MP4 was over 500mb (50% video content & 50p creating) lowered it to medium quality & 30p & managed to up-load it to my Vimeo account. Hope this works this time.
  12. Well, the sun finally shone today. We had changed our car earlier in the week, the previous one was getting a little tired, so that was the subject for a show using the Panasonic DCG100 & grip. The show is a mixture of Citroen's publicity pictures & stills & video from the camera, all hand held I must add. It's been uploaded to Mediafire which I haven't used recently. The link is- Enjoy Rosy. Later, now I know why I haven't used Mediafire recently, back later. Sorry, having trouble uploading the show, in the meantime a few pics from the show.
  13. Just to clarify normalise, normalise in audacity is to remove / reduce clipping. Clipping is where the waveform goes outside the normal waveform & causes distorted peak sounds. See Audacity "Enter the value for the maximum amplitude you would like the processed selection to have. The initial default setting is -1 dB, but you can change this. Your choice of settings will be remembered for next use of Normalize any time you change it. A level of -1 dB is just below the maximum amplitude (0 dB) possible without clipping, but gives a little headroom for effects and distortion-free playback on all equipment. Enter a more negative value (for example, -3 dB) to normalize to lower amplitudes. Entering a positive value is disallowed and causes the "OK" and "Preview" buttons to be disabled. Rosy
  14. Hi Tom If I am adding slides to a video I do it from the O&A screen, using the opacity settings to make the slides appear & disappear. Rosy
  15. Hi Geoff L One way is to create a menu on the last slide of the first show, from the menu you can open the second show automatically. Have a read at the online manual & search for menu. There are other ways & I'm sure someone will suggest some other way. Rosy.
  16. Hi Seismic Guy There are 2 methods in PTE I use, the first you have to insert the video /sound clip separately from the background sound by linking it in the Project Options tab, see sr3. Secondly, with all the slides inserted including the video clip's, go to the timeline view, highlight the video clip you want to lower the sound, click the solid line above the waveform, which will leave a marker point, move along the solid line a short way to give a fade out of the video sound, click the solid line again & drag it to the bottom of the waveform, then move along the line you have dragged down to where you want the video sound to resume, click the line, move on a short distance to give a fade in, click the solid line & drag it up to its original height. See sr1 / sr1a. If you want to mute the video sound completely. Highlight the video clip, open objects & animation screen, tick the Mute audio box. See sr2. Suggest you read the official instructions to get a more professional description. Rosy.
  17. Hi Maureen Solved my fuddled memory, the track was Vivaldi's 4 Seasons "Summer" by Nigel Kennedy, but like you thought it frantic & actually used it in my "Autumn Dales Diary" show. Rosy. nigel kennedy summer 4 seasons vivaldi r1aud.mp3
  18. Hi Again Maureen I think I got the wrong composer for my show. Had a quick listen to all 4 seasons & it wasn't one of them. Could have been Mozart, I'll see if I can dig it out. It was a long time ago. Cheers Rosy.
  19. Hi Maureen Loved the reflection shots & the dry stone switch back wall, thought the music was a bit mournful for a summers day. Maybe that's how you were feeling at the time you made it. I think the Summer Dales show I made had the Vivaldi 4 Seasons "Summer" to accompany it. It's a keeper anyway. Hope things are OK with you, still waiting for our second jab here. Regards Rosy.
  20. Hi Martin Have you read this Video . Rosy.
  21. Hi Maureen. Happy new year. Great show as usual. Couple of shots I have very similar ones in past shows. The sheep on top of the feed bales, mine was called High Fibre Diet & the one running downhill could be from Gayle Mill in Wensleydale? Brought back happy memories when the world wasn't in such chaos. The only pictures we've taken this year have been through the windows or inside the rooms. Haven't tried my new Panasonic DCG100 yet. Keep safe Rosy & M.
  22. Hi Doug Don't give up! Take a look here, PTE Instructions. this is the font of all knowledge (well nearly all) about how to use PTE. Cheers Rosy.
  23. Hi Gaga One of the basic principles of PTE is when creating a show, keep all the components in one place / folder, that way you always know where they are. Happy New Year Rosy.
