Hi Andrew, thanks for the template, which I like alot. However I'm trying to add additional pages, but must be doing something wrong as I've copy and pasted the slide but am struggling with changing the images and getting them to turn corectly on the new slides. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Geoff

Hi Skipper, the presenter I bought has given trouble free service, and certainly has enough range for all the halls I've used it in (biggest being about 50 ft x 50ft)Movement and positioning of the mouse can be a bit of a black art, but for going forward and backwards in a manually driven slideshow it's excellent, and means that you are always facing your audiance. Hi Tom Looking at the specs here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Hub-Media-Center-1TB/dp/tech-data/B00466IEXE/ref=de_a_smtd The answer is no, you will have to output your PTE slideshows to .mp4 format in order for the media player to handle them. Geoff

Does anybody turn off "Hardware acceleration" option?
stonemason replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
Igor perhaps an explanation of the advantages and dis-advantages of retaining this option from your point of view would be helpful to us users but non programmers. We could better then understand your reasons for airing this topic. Geoff -
Does anybody turn off "Hardware acceleration" option?
stonemason replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
Hi Igor I never turn it off even when running slideshows from a menu, and I think on by default is the right option. However unless there is a good reason to remove the option of turning off hardware acceleration I think perhaps the choice should remain. A late happy birthday, I hope you enjoyed a good day. Hi nobeefstu after doing another check then I agree with you that the Run External Application method does do what I want. However it would be good if it was an option in the O&A window so hopefully Igor will see this and agree. Thanks for the help Geoff

As far as I know the standard license carries lifetime upgrades, so yours will be fine. Geoff

Hi Redbutton just download the PTE zip file, and unpack and install it. Your license will then just activate the standard part of the application. Welcome to the forum. Geoff

Thanks for the info, I tried both methods, but neither really gave me what I am looking for. Does anyone else think that this would be a useful addition to PTE as it would be a very slick way of keeping a mixed presentation going through the evening. Maybe something for Igor and team to consider for a future update. Thanks nobeefstu and yachtsman1 for your input Geoff

When running a manually operated slideshow, is it possible to get the action of changing the slide to trigger the running of an exe slideshow, and then to return to the next slide in the manual presentation. I know this is possible with the mouse click action but I like to keep the mouse hidden during my manual presentations. Geoff
-
Yes Barry that's one of the reasons plus the desktop is always hidden from the audience. Geoff
-
Thanks for that nobeefstu I wasn't aware that command line parameters were supported using buttons I'll give that a try. Regards Geoff
-
Thanks for the reply nobeefstu. What I was looking for is the ability to force the exe file to play on the secondary monitor ie projector But still be able to see the desktop. It is achiveable by dragging the desktop to the secondary monitor but would be much more convenient if the option I outlined above was possible. What I am after is something like the - display 2 command which is available in the preview mode. Geoff

Is there any way of playing slideshows on a second monitor ie projector, without having a mirrored desktop, thus enabling all the controls to be on the main desktop and hidden from the audience. If this is not yet possible would it not be a useful feature in a future version? Geoff

Igor I have installed the latest PTE beta, and although I haven't confirmed my facebook account by sms the upload to facebook function in the create menu works perfectly. Why that should be that it works now but didn't before I have no idea. The only change I have made is installing the new beta version. I have done it twice now with videos of up to 5 minutes and 33mb, and it has worked perfectly each time. Regards Geoff
-
Thanks Igor, just from interest how do you confirm by sms? Regards Geoff

Hi Igor I am permanently logged in on facebook, it appeared as if the video did not upload, how can I get the facebook permmisions window to open again in PTE so I can check if I missed something? Regards Geoff
-
I have just tried the upload to facebook feature and had two failures. However when I uploaded the mp4 file through facebook it succeeded but only after I allowed popups on the facebook page, as the video uploader in facebook is in a popup window. I will try again through PTE now I have allowed facebook popups and see if it makes a difference. Geoff Edit Just tried again and had another failure. The mp4 file creates OK then says uploading, and appears to upload OK. I then get a popup to say the video failed to download.

Ron what a delight this book is, the photography, the music and the concept all come together so well. I shall watch with interest to see when the template and pdf become available. regards Geoff

Thanks Peter, just to clarify if the "Run slideshow and return" option is used is the menu then stopped while the slideshow is running? I don't use animation in the menu, but as hardware acceleration is checked by default I have never bothered to turn it off, and not had any problems to date. However I do make sure that menu and slideshows are all created using the same version of PTE. regards Geoff
-
Can people who create and use Mac sequences tell me if you still disable hardware acceleration for any menu sequence that you use? Whilst I used to do this for pc versions using earlier versions of PTE, I have not found it necessary since the version 6.0 + PTE versions. Not being a Mac user but occasionally needing to output Mac slideshows I would like to draw on the experiances of others. Geoff

Barry probably the best explanation I've ever seen, definitely a keeper. Hope life's treating you well down under. Geoff

OK thanks Ken it would be nice if it did but perhaps at sometime in the future. Geoff
