  7. For years we have advocated making a specific folder for each show c/w all the parts thus eliminating "where have my pict's/ music gone" questions some of your suggestions seem to advocate a lot of bells and whistles that are not really necessary if you practice the above protocol! ken

  14. I moved you to this section see [TIP] Playback of H.264 video Important information http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8954 from Dave's entry "Alternatively you could try "Creating HD Video" choose your presets to suit the size of your show and you will have a "better" result which you can play on your PC (or MAC) in MPEG4 format." and see how it looks --- your dvd player/tv set up may play it, tho' it will not be same as a full fledged dvd ken

  18. MEOW MEOW hate to admit that one of dom's tricks [ the book] and many of Lins demo's get more oh's and aw's than most shows from my family some shows/slides get "that's pretty" comments I have given this subject a lot of thought --" could we have this sort of fade etc" Igor makes it but do we ever see it -- seldom - the only one we see is the straight fade and the page curl in the different configurations it will do generally we have 3-4 people asking for more to be added to the basic program -- but do we ever see the finished product by the people asking for it -- it would have to be pointed out to most of the members Lin and Dom have worked very hard to show what can be done with pte -they have used the expertise of other developers and introduced them to the functions of pte - so why not give credit where credit is do ? and last but not least " LONG LIVE V4.49" KEN
  19. Mark Border or no border? no border i always have trouble with r hand vertical borders - - i have mentioned it many times I used to video skaters and under certain light ing conditions i would have a bright line on r side of skaters ken
  20. Ernest if you scanned picts in to a folder it is very easy to name them as you go but if you were using several digital cameras and numerous picts -- the camera's naming system is different for each set of picts a case in point now for example you are at a road race - and took a bunch of picts and wanted to rename the picts by the runner's bib # in the order you took them - you have to change batteries -- you change cameras- a lull in the race , your helper changes batteries , you swich cameras - you will likely be putting them in separate folders for cameras -- with the runner's finishing list as a guide you have to sort them by finishing order. example original name from camera P6256434 .JPG renamed to P6256434_WINNER_366 Matthew Fecht .JPG -- where bib is 366 P6256438 .JPG renamed to P6256438_2 225 Adam Roach .JPG where _2 is his placing original TN_IMG_0585.jpg renamed to TN_IMG_0585_476_670_DICK FELTON.jpg -- where 476 placing, 670 bib# - and runner's name with windows protocol, the camera id is sorted fine but irenamed them as i wished from the working slide list that is how i did it at 30th Annual YMCA/CHOK International Bridge Race Sunday June 24, 2007 10K Entrants Finishers Total 518 492 Male 266 251 Female 252 241 Unknown 00 lot of pictures to do - lot of renaming - if you have a buyer for a picture, easy to find ken
  21. RENAME slide function has been available for many versions r mouse a slide in right column i would put the new name in front of the old name example new_old.jpg your original gets renamed as well see attached i posted how to rename a 600 slide show the other day -- i will dig up the url http://www.picturest...indpost&p=69374 ken
  22. Smokie save yourself a lot of grief and copy all your picts, music, notes etc to one new properly named folder ALSO YOU CAN RENAME THEM but due to windows protocol you have to add some zreos to keep them sorted example 0001_original file name.jpg 0002_original file name.jpg etc i may have 1 too many zeroes in my example ken
