none of my dvd players connected to tv will play mp4's - and i do not, at the present do an ecoding to the dvd format so i have 5 players that will play divx/xvid files -- 2 of the 5 will take memory sticks so i end up converting avi mp4's to divx or xvid- no 2-3 hr burn time works great for me ken

IGOR and how is the common man supposed to remember this sort of diddling around and is it now a prerequisite to use adobe software to achieve perfect picts with your program ?? ken

Peter I believe when you try to open a show saved with the v5 series with the v4 series you will get that message PTE 1.1 ver 5 will open ver 4 stuff but not the reverse you have to be very carefull when working with the 2 versions when i open a v3 to v4 series show with ver 5 series i save it under a different name and leave the v3 to v4 series pte as is get Maureen or Ian to walk you thru the process ken

PETER if i was the supervisor of the day i had to approve the permits i had referred to ,as well i had to be a qualified person to apply artificial resucation if need be -- these were company as well as government rules we had another rule as well -- no beards were allowed because if an emergency occured and you had to put on a scott airpak - it was a proven fact that you would not get a tight seal we also had many rules -that were government law - no rings to be worn, saftey boots had to be worn and hard hats be worn if coming out of your office -- the office people had to abide if they wanted to work in industry -- the sikhs had to take off their headgear if they came out of their offices that is life in the real world that Dave and Paul are try to get across to people -- rules baby is what the world loves ken
-
Paul i dont think Dave is saying it is pointless per se -- rules are generally made for a reason - we have here some members that dont seem to feel they should follow the rules of the church hall and some that do feel they should, so the thread is going nowhere -- we are spinning our wheels it is too bad that the d___head in church hall has to assert his authority - he must get points for upsetting people -- he must think he will get a PAT on the back ken
-
an addition to my note, When i was a working man at my place of employment, for any vessel entry or where continuous gas testing was involved --if portable power tools etc were to be used we had to test them with a GFI before we could sign the permit and they had to plug them into a GFI device located outside the vessel now, I can see where the church is coming from and the hospital -- they do not know whether the specific device was built to the "standard" -- mom and pop shops/ or self built equipment the CSA seal is a start that it was built properly to all safe standards ken

PicturesToExe Deluxe is the slideshow software, which can help you to create splendid slideshows. The interface of PicturesToExe Deluxe is very easy in use, both amateur PC users and professional photographers can work in this program without any difficulties. You can place any objects (images, text labels with drop shadows) on a slide and customize complex animation. It`s either possible to use various cinematographic transition effects between slides (including 3D effects), to add background music, sound and text comments to a slide. You can also synchronize slideshows to music using the timeline. The slideshow has a very high picture quality and the smoothest playback of Pan/Zoom effects you have ever seen. A slideshow in EXE format can be played on any computer under Windows XP, Vista, 2000. No additional program (not even PicturesToExe itself) is needed to run a finished slideshow, except a produced EXE file. VideoBuilder in PicturesToExe Deluxe edition allows you to burn a DVD video disc with your slideshows quickly and easily. You can adjust the menu and many other parameters of your DVD disc. Burned in PicturesToExe DVD video disc can be played on any DVD player, PC or MAC. PicturesToExe gives you an opportunity to create HD Video file (H.264) for PC and Mac, Video for iPhone and AVI video file. You can also publish your slideshows on Youtube and Vimeo directly from PicturesToExe Deluxe in several clicks. If you think, it's necessary you can protect your slideshow in EXE file with a password NO MENTION OF LINUX KEN

Mike i had a similar experience when i brought my computer to the hospital - their inhouse IT dept., verified that it had passed CSA standards http://www.csa.ca/De...anguage=english and that the applicable CSA labels were in place also they would not allow extension cords but powerbars were allowed ken

THE ALTERNATIVE IS -- TOP LEFT OF MY KEYBOARD IS A KEY CALLED "ESC" in fact i use it quite often when viewing a show that i don't have control of many moons ago all you read was when is "ken Burns" effect going to be available -- Igor busts his butt to give it to us and as many said "a little bit is fine " but too much is TOO MUCH it is the same with fades Igor has again busted his butt to give us more than enough - - what is most popular -- the plain dissolve with slight variations ken

if you want a permanent avi you have to make a custom avi see screenshots from the help inst's that can be downloaded from links below of this thread page 12 How can I create an independent video file (not on CD/DVD) and save it on my hard drive? You can create a custom AVI file: Click <Video> button, check "Create custom AVI file", then select audio and video codecs: <Audio codec> and <Video codec> buttons. You can choose any video codec, except "PicturesToExe video codec". You can select codecs from the lists or use your own codecs. Then click <Create AVI> button and save your file. ken
