  3. but according to this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.gif The US LZW patent expired on June 20, 2003.[16] The counterpart patents in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy expired on June 18, 2004, the Japanese counterpart patents expired on June 20, 2004 and the counterpart Canadian patent expired on July 7, 2004.[16] Consequently, while Unisys has further patents and patent applications relating to improvements to the LZW technique,[16] the GIF format may now be used freely. ken
  4. likely because the gif protocol is not open source -or similar reasoning - think Igor made that statement years ago that is why we have to been able to use gifs ken
  5. IMHO would not likeley use it - i would rather "save as" as a different name - on long periods being at the key board, it is wise to to save as and take a break to let the grey matter recycle you can then try the different versions -the pte is likely the smallest file in the project but the most important in the whole process remember the old adage "JESUS SAVES" ken
  6. http://beechbrook.com/pte/ 3 SHOWS NEAR BOTTOM OF PAGE Mon maître File Size: 87.5M By: jp.dollangere@fre... 20. http://www.wnsoft.com/more_news.htm April 24, 2006 Small update: PicturesToExe v4.48 i cant say whether this is the vista patched version but i cant find the 4.49 download which is the vista version maybe somebody else can - i directed somebody to it the other day the original posting http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....ost&p=48272 PicturesToExe 4.49 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/pte449.zip (1.4 MB) We decided update old version 4.xx of PicturesToExe because it contained unplesant bug. Slideshows with music/sounds can't exit by Esc key or at end of a show under Windows Vista on dual-core CPU based PCs. Also we prepared special utility which patches EXE file of slideshows created with old versions from 4.40 to 4.48 and it updates slideshow's engine to version 4.49 and solves this bug: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/pte449patch.zip (400 KB) This utility automatically recognizes EXE files and will not modify already patched EXE files or more new 5.00 slideshow where there is no problem. We apologize for this problem. ken

  25. Eric et al the file size is always indicated at Beechbrook and generally Bill's server will give a max d/l speed my max is 300kb/sec -- that max speed is what the isp tech's say is all i pay for -- i sat here and watched him set it up - he tried to give me more but the guy that was monitoring my speeds said no -- people that are on cable generally get twice as much i thought Davy's show was great but i guess one has to be a race buff to appreciate it! ken
