  3. Peter Eric does not mention 5.2, he mentions 5.5 using xahu34's method on my system would open ver 3.6 since version 5 made the change to install to a specific folder and not overwriting prior installs as was done up to v4.49,your write up seems complete -- please make a faq to cover it TIA ken
  4. what is "more literary stile " generally stile means a type of device for climbing over a fence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stile s/c = shortcut d/l = download the 2 above are common terms in computer lingo here in the colonies see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S/C http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shortcut d/l and s/c have many meanings depending on what you are working with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duckworth-Lewis_method ken
  5. ERIC has to make a specific s/c to a specific version/install version 5 started making a specific folder for each version and labelled as such, but the exe is labelled apr.exe in each version, therefore he must make a s/c for the specific apr and rename it to that specific version install or is my uderstanding incorrect ? my xp sp3 install's work that way ken
  6. Eric and before you install rename all your s/c's to the appropriate version - pte replaces the default s/c on the desktop with the s/c for the current install when you have multiple install's you have to be very carefull -- you have to ID things properly or you are going to get frustrated This is why we try to impress on people that when you start a new show that you start a new folder appropriately named and that you copy all components to that folder before you start the "make show process" and that you save the pte to that folder the pte is very miniscule in size so rename it differently each time you save as till you get the show the way you like it ken
  7. Eric "Just now I opened a 5.5 show I am working on using the 5.5 icon " locate your install of 5.5 my winsoft folder is here C:\Program Files\WnSoft PicturesToExe open the 5.5 exe and direct it to your 5.5 pte make a s/c on your desktop for the 5.5 exe and name it as such and place it on the desktop ken
