  1. Tom put the show up to the cottage as a DEMO -- it will be there for a month when you upload to sendspace , dropload yousendit etc it is only there for 7 days dont know how Bill will feel about this but you can ask him re sending a zip file of "pieces" of your show -- not a completed show -- you would make the zip using the zip function of v5 just an idea ken
  2. point taken but the last piece of pkg software i bought at a store winxp the manual was useless and we had to update the software right away before that i bought nero 6.6 in a box as soon as it was out -- $100 and the manual was not the best - good thing i had previous experience if you do not have access to the internet how are you ever going to update your software -- from your buddy that has an ISP? ken
  3. WIDEANGLE- what focal length in 4.48 the P signifies that the slide is modified -- ie text , fade music etc whatever you do to it when you click it bottom left of screen at edge of monitor "Modified "pops up now how are those users that dont have internet access going to read any of this ? ken
  4. Cal Al asked Does it act the same way with shows created by other people there are some v5 shows at the cottage or all these latest demos have been put up ken
  5. it is called edit and delete post i have set up a thread in the video section where members can play with the features am only trying to help people but i cant do photoshop so dont ask me
  6. well then please take your constructive critcism etc out of the tutorial thread then now that you have most of it quoted here ken
  7. if it is confusing why do people keep adding complaints to the tutorial thread ????? -- common sense would be to complain in a new thread and not congest TUTORIALS SECTION any more when a change is inserted the forum highlights that there is a new entry in TUTORIALS -- it should be a tuorial I agree Dom's site is laid out the way we hope this forum will eventually look IGOR AND CREW are working to get ver 5 finalized - do you want them to shut down all work and redo the forum ? they have just instituted more moderators to keep ahead of the spam I know what it is like when programmers are trying to write code - DO NOT DISTURB WIDEANGLE if a newcomer wants to know what the 'P' button next to the 'Customise Slide' button is for, how do they find out? A thread like this would not give a quick answer. the tutorial section is not intended to do that -- they start a thread and ask which they have done many times in the past so please remove the complaints etc from the tutorial section and place them elsewhere ken

  12. the basic instructions for making a video are here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1408 you can make a default STANDALONE avi with ver 4~ or 5 and while the pte program is still open import it into a 3rd party program -- winavi or TMPGEnc You can make a custom stand alone avi using custom settings with codecs that are on your system i think the last succesful one for me was the Windows Mpeg4 Codec see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....2&hl=codecs http://www.divx-digest.com/software/mpeg4codec.html http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry33902 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry33214 ken
  13. ver# req'd but it sounds like you closed the pte program the avi is only a temporary file - and if tried to save it all you get is sound pte must running see avi ken

  15. TOM put file in a zip and put it on dropload http://www.dropload.com/ yousendit http://www.yousendit.com/ or set up a yahoo briefcase acct -- Hawk and Ken Nickels uploads demos on yahoo briefcase quite regulary http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc//home then you tell who you want to get file to go to your yahoo briefcase acct and download it with my yahoo acct i am limited to 25 - 30 mb but think hawk's has a larger acct -- his isp is connected to yahoo ken

  22. v5 introduces animation effects maybe wait at least a week before you try it you are going to want to try it so you might as well give it a go and then as things come up in the forum you can try it ken
  23. If people took the time to print out threads that pertain to a particular problem, or develop an index of urls to frequent questions [ my url faq is 1.3 mb +- zipped up] they would soon have a very good and current reference manual -- currently i have 2 3 ring binders and 2 clipboards on the go + i do not hesitate to save threads to hard drive filed in members designated folders. we all agree that the help file etc is lacking but we keep plugging away -- Igor and crew are trying their best to satisfy all, planning ahead - vista ready-- trying to get hdwe mfg's to correct drivers and to do " geez it would be nice if you could do this Igor-- hint hint" If you look back at Leonard's postings since he joined you will see that we have bent over backwards to help him but he always had an excuse why the answers did not meet his needs ken
