Dom apparently my system was going into crash mode at the time i checked the file, as the time progressed ,i was getting all sorts of errors not only with p2e stuff -- i was on msn video with hawk and tried to check something else for him when i finally had to reboot yet i had plenty resources before reboot all is well i hope ken

John keep going in ver 4 and get as much as possible done before 5 unless IGOR ARE YOU GOING TO CHANGE THE GUI WITH VER 5?? If he does at least you done an excersise of learning controls etc -- and dry runs are never a waste couple years ago when the translation thing was active, one translator said it was the best thing he had done as he learned what the program would do during the translation process ken

ver 5 gives that message you must open the ver 5 program and then open the pte of the show that was made with ver 5 exe's will open with no error message you dealing with a beta version ver 4.~ series will not open a show made with ver 5 ken

John on ver 4 i think the P means the slide is modified start the proggie and watch the bottom left of screen -- when clicked "modified" appears ken

LANCE welcome to the forum i use nero 6.6 with vision express 3,1,0,0 and have not had problem makind dvd's what version is your nero assume you are using ver 4.48 pict to exe i would resize your picts to 1024/768 or 1280/960 and try that ken

What it all boils down to is the less # of keystrokes we have to make, the less chance of human error especially when one is trying to put a show together-- with bjc's approach i think we would be able to practice "KISS" to our benefit ken

bjc I agree with you we can use the clipboard with ver 4 series object editor -- add text and paste from clipboard into the window but it would be neat to paste directly into the object editor hard to say what tricks our Leader has up his sleeve -- he has said there will be changes to the object editor ken

I will try and give you a partial answer. time after time we hear members complaining about trying to run a cd from their laptop and the usual help we give is to try copying and pasting the exe to the laptop's desktop and run it from there i have a 64 mb graphics board on my desktop system - i can run the shows that i have made with ver 5 with pretty good pan and zooms - not noticeable jerkiness some of the member demos i have had jerkieness my 2nd machine has 16 mb graphics board and it would not play Igor's original demos I have a show i made with ver 5 beta 4 on the "cottage site" -- i have a revised edition -- ver5 b5 -- that i took to a business the other day in DVD format -- the owner could play it on his Toshiba laptop that i would guess is 2 yrs old -- one of his employees has his "old" laptop that i would guess is 4 yrs old -- she finaly got it to play but it took a lot of patience on her part it seems the bare minimum is 64 mb ram on the video card to run exe's or dvd's Igor has not gave out much details re the dual engine other than you will be able to select a standard show - ver 4.48 or the pan and zoom show ver 5 from the same interface not much more i can say other than if all your customers can run ver 4. series shows, you better stick there until more definite details are issued -- then you will have to test the "water" with your customers -- you could always make a plain and a deluxe version ken
