Ken Cox replied to Jrenicker's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows

It all boils down to Horsepower as i have said before video= time memory drive space Horsepower to do it and lots of patience very simple "if ya gonna dance ya gotta pay the band" and if you guys can afford Adobe software you must be able to afford the hardware to run it why i got a CDW flyer yesterday and the Adobe Web bundle was only $2199.99 + 15% tax -- Canadian $ ken

blackviper has pulled his site but this fella has resurected the bulk of it. blackviper was/is the original xp hacker/tweaker. http://www.dead-eye.net/WinXP%20Services.htm what this site explains is what is normal and what can be taken out of the start up /op system Do not use msconfig to disable services Type in the Run box "services.msc" instead! what one must do is document before and after rdgs if you are messing about and know what is normal-- you also must become familiar with shortforms -- one does a lot of googling:). when xp initally came out it was a pig for running things that the ordinary person did not require, especially machines that had the bare minimum resources thus BlackViper determined what was needed and what was not and made a chart. MS was doing the proverbial CTA as well as yours:) In my case originally i could barelly run xp and i need all the tweaks available - thus no zone alarms types of software - bought a router instead on the recommendation of an IT man from one of the local companies -and if you are not on line and the downloads were scanned why do you need a virus checker doing scans in the background enditall was initally published by pc magazine EndItAll, Version 1.0 Copyright © 1999 Ziff-Davis, Inc. Bob your shows all worked your transitions are kind of abrupt at times too many different things -- but you were trying to see what can be done i viewed on 19" lcd monitor 1024/768 and 29" svhs tv -- no pixellation evident on the tv times are only approximate - cant write and view - and can hardly write at the best of times -fine movement motor gone in right arm from stroke 10+ yrs ago 1024/768 show smooth if there were jerks i missed them cust resized Q40 jerk -- 35 secs, 1 min, 2:25 and 3:39 just before pink flower cust resized Q60 jerks 27 sec, 1:00 min 2:02 , 2:26 3:00 min and there may have been more there was no jerk at the pink flower on this one k

DAVE "Do you think version 5 will be long in coming?" anybody's guess the problem being we might get a stable version but then the " Igor can you do this" starts again ken
-
Ken jerkiness started +- 18 secs in and approx every 8 secs thereafter ken
-
I think Igor answered that Bob course, AVI video produced in PTE will play ideally smooth for any large images (next betas). In final version 5.00 will be two ways: - New graphical engine with hardware acceleration - if you create slide-show with Pan/Zoom (for modern video cards). By the way, modern video card very well intended for 2D graphics. For this task, it works in hundreds times more fast than even modern CPUs. but if you have doubts and you go out to do show CYA and take a 4.48 ver with you
-
Lin the icing on the cake would have been that spinner shear the goats:)) good stuff:) ken
-
Robert simple enough to do load your exe's on a cd and visit your dealers and find out what will run them and buy that card but the "big but" is making a show that only you can run, is not the answer so you make the show with 4.48 as well the question i have - we cannot even enable the avi feature to see what will happen to the jerks etc when we burn to dvd -- maybe they will go away because we have taken part of the program out of the equation ken
-
i cant run Igor's first demo on my #2 system and other 2 would run but not satisfactory Operating System System Model Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600) VIA Technologies, Inc. well if you go full screen you eliminate the chance of vertical edges on r side of tv to wiggle/shimmer "In fact I entered the DVD version in a club competition and was a bit embarrased, because of the quality." compared to what -- did you ask how other shows were made? -- it is a club -- the object of belonging to a club is to share info- the same as this forum:) read some of the threads in the video section http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3943 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3992 at present time i show all these test demos made with ver 5 on tv as the avi function is not enabled there used to be a member that said " think outside the box" star wars were made with "a box" Juriassic park was one of the first -- commodore 64 days/video toaster ken
-
smooth as silk perfect on monitor and on svhs tv a keeper:) ken

some theory http://www.scantips.com/basics11.html years ago board makers supplied vcd's to demo what their boards would do and there were games that could be downloaded -- they wanted to sell product and what better way than to have freebies likely for a standard office installation you can get away with the minimum but when you are a gamer you need power -- well games are graphics and p2e is graphics of a different sort -- if i had kmow 3 yrs ago next month how things were going to proceed i would likey have bought the top ATI all in wonder $600 instead of the $300 model i chose -- prices incldes taxes generally speaking i have no problem playing a store bought dvd movie in my old system with 1:33 ghz processor and 16 mb ati all in wonder card - but it would not play Igor's first v5 demo without constant jerkiness and have no problem playing dvd movies in #1 system but along comes ver5 and the jerkiness appears in some cases ken

Dave from the services offered on your website, "How could an AV Sequence help your business ? A DVD, aimed at the prospective guitarist, but covering similar ground to our school presentation, is available at £15 (deductible when a booking is made). Yours sincerely, Dave Windle " you should really consider making the shows more "dvd compatible" -- use no borders or frames as Robert suggested. Then if the need arises you just make the avi and burn ken
