Linda welcome to the forum 'tho there may be commercial dvd's that expire in "x" days i dont think p2e will when made into a dvd - but the easiest way to find out is to try it. maybe try a search on google i did some searching and found this site that seems to say it can be done -- but the method is above me http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/gprm.php ken

Jeanie drop a note to any of the following ralvis ADB James O'Rear aka Slugman Hawk Ian Bateman just to name a few of the members they are quite proficient in flash and i agree with comments by Kurt S re your tutor - -graphics is something in which an open mind is a prerequisite Lin Evans http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=2902 says and if you went to his site and see the quality of his work i think you will believe his statement. http://www.lin-evans.com/ ken

Well if you own the original it is fine to dump - but in the current time frame of "digital", dumping is rather foolish without saving -- especially when cd media is so inexpensive. if you people had seen the pictures that were presented to me to copy that had been carried in a wallet for years and heard " well it is the only picture we have of her/him and they are gone -- cant you do something with it", i think you will reconsider dumping. ken

Roger, the problem with digital picts that i have seen is the camera gives each picture a number that is just a number when i scan 35 mm prints in i give them the proper name at the time and file them basically the same way the other Ken does it is no big secret -- properly named picts are the answer i start out the year with D:\1Pictures\1_2005 collection then i make properly named folders within that folder then with irfanview or freshview or the like i can navigate thru the folders when i am going to start a show i make a new properly name folder and copy the pictures, music icons etc all to that folder -- now if i want to make sure i get the picts in the prper sequence i simply rename the using windows protocol when i had the darkroom i made a contact sheet of every roll with the date written on it - put it in a binder c/w negs and notes filing is what we had secretary's for when i worked ken

Ken with the Irfanview plugins installed it will play a whole bunch of stuff even avi's, mpeg's etc it uses very little resources, a small footprint on one's system -- just like p2e " small and powerfull" as i often say "small is better" and there is a shell extension for irfanview by another outfit that gives one still more features with the r mouse see http://www.baxbex.com/products.html IrfanView ShellExtension 1.02 ken
-
I use My default MP3 player is MusicMatch when checking music Irfanview as first choice then WMP 10 then audacity then Media Jukebox it depends what i want to do - Irfanview is the best all around ken

How to prepare and burn DVD-Video or SVCD disc
Ken Cox replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
Roger yes I use the Roxio suite at times as well as WinDvd and dvdsanta i also use WinAvi or TMPGEnc to make mpg's for later use -- also mpg's are quick and dirty to get show up on tv to show/hear how it looks on the bigger screen -- cheaper on a cd than a dvd hope this does not confuse the issue but there is a real good description of the different formats and how to's here http://www.gromkov.com/help.html ken -
How to prepare and burn DVD-Video or SVCD disc
Ken Cox replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
mairijim yes Nero will make a svcd if you follow the initial how to comment in the first entry of this thread How to prepare and then burn DVD-Video or SVCD disc Using PicturesToExe you are able to produce AVI video file which can be easily burned as DVD-Video disc with help of any special software (read below). Even it is possible to create SVCD disc on usual CD-R disc with high quality of image and sound (almost as DVD-Video). PicturesToExe provides fast and lossless transferring of video and audio for converting into DVD-Video format. This allows to keep excellent quality of your presentations and very smooth transition effects. so if you followed this thread and imported the avi into nero and followed nero vision express steps you shouve mad a svcd on a cd disk ken -
Ron if you think it is bad now;what will it be like when the pan and zoom feature is brought in -- unless Igor sets some sort of control of the pan and zoom feature.. I have made a short show with dvd santa using the pan and zoom feature and while it is interesting, it has to have some sort of control so that one can study the pictures on the screen ken
