bckspc0 welcome to the forum i think what you are looking for is not readily available -- a decompiler - -but as Boxig pointed out to me the other day if you decompile you would likely get just code so if you have lost the original pictures do a screen shot of each i think boxig has an utility to help in thte screen shot process see http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com Programs, utilities, Thailand Photo Albums. http://www.CDautorunMenu.com CD Menu Program http://www.phoneticthaidictionary.com Phonetic English - Thai Dictionary ken

Hilquite welcome to the forum. with all the MS updates you likely have rebooted several times. i would suggest you set the system to do an "error checking" on next reboot -- prior to xp this was the scandisk function reboot and let it do its thing a defrag is likely in order as well as dumping the temp internet cache then try p2e again have you tried it with the external hd removed ken

Robert just keep in mind that something is better than nothing -- you could have had camera failure on the trip and got nothing. My niece had battery problems climbing Kilamanjaro this summer - how do think she feels. and ask Alrob about his problems while climbing. count yourself lucky we know you will do your best ken

when the ability to go the AVI to Vcd/Svcd/dvd option first came out there were many complaints about quiver - shimmer -- sharpness etc. i did not have a dvd burner so was limited to vcd/svcd -- soon found out that there were not many svcd capable players on the market so i concentrated my efforts to Vcd's. I also visited specialty shops that have displays showing "ideal" stuff ie: Hollywood -- one in particular was Shrek -- on close examination in certain scenes there was edge quiver-- small but it was there -- I said to myself if Hollywood cant prevent it how can we? When i was able to make dvd's i tried different things -- the most important were -- get rid of borders and use big pictures 600kb to 2 meg and let P2E compress them then take the finished dvd's to the specialty shops and see what you work looks like on a variety of screens --- before i got into the dvd part i used to take a cd full of exe's to computer places and see what they looked like on various monitors. Maybe my theory is wrong but i can tell you the same picture taken on 35mm film doesn’t compare to one taken on 120/6X6 film -- so is my thinking using 100kb picts to make a show vs the 600kb to 2 mb method wrong? not according to my eyes when viewed on various screens - -as yet i have never seen any shows on a projector what i would like to have are the tools to take the shared exes and put them on dvd so i can see what they look like in a room -- the tv brigtness/colour/contrast etc settings are rarely adjusted whereas a monitor and graphics card settings give out different views -- quite often the exe's are too dark when viewed on my monitor due to my personal settings - invariably when i make a show the brightness levels etc are perfect on the 5 tv's in my work room's there was atopic on methods to open an exe long ago but i cant find it and the author of the thread no longer visits:( where are you Stu?? ken

Cant help you there but there should be somebody on forum that has done it i have a better answer but cant get my brain to process it -- CRS has set in I think people have not embedded but have linked as Ralph does with his menu demo -- and he is out of commission at home getting a new system set up so you cant ask him maybe Ron --ronwil will jump in with a better answer or Alrobin -- think he was typing at same time as i was ken

Tom i think that problem is Movie Factory itself. Maybe somebody else with Movie factory experience can offer you more help -- sorry -- but at least you are burnin' ken
-
Tom welcome to the forum am not familiar with movie factory 3 but if it is like the other authoring programs you will have to import all 4 avis' made by p2e so you will have to create the 4 avi's -- you will have 4 instances of p2e open -- and dont close any of them until your dvd is complete ken

geordie welcome to the forum there are several tutorial p2e exe's resting at http://beechbrook.com/pte/index.asp?catego...yid=4&view=View ken

Mike found this quote that might make you feel a bit better -- you are not alone with problems for testing your show before the final try using the zoom feature of your dvd player to hide the verticals -- then you can see how it will look and possibly help you decide on a fix ken quote by Sam Chow Copyright © 2005 Future Shop "Why is it that when I play a home movie DVD on my computer, the size of the screen is accurate, but when I play it in the DVD player for the TV, it appears to have been cropped?" Overscan This may be a simple case of the original video stream not being authored to compensate for TV overscan. Because of the limitations of regular TV sets, the screen is usually calibrated so that the edge of the picture is off-screen. Almost 20% of the entire picture is out of the viewing area. Usually this overscan area is taken into consideration when producing the video so that you do not lose anything important from the picture. Since computer monitors are generally more precise than TVs there is no need for overscanning. As a result, you see the entire picture when watching video on your computer. There are two methods to solve the problem of overscan. First, there are a few DVD players that will allow you to zoom out incrementally until you can see the entire picture or to adjust the X/Y scaling to offset the overscan. The other way to correct overscan requires that you make adjustments on your television set. There is usually a hidden service menu on your TV that lets you tweak various settings. The problem here is figuring out how to access the hidden menu, as well as being careful not to change the settings so that the picture becomes worse, or even unwatchable. Note that making any changes in the service menu may void your warranty. Conversion When burning home movies or other content to DVD from an MPG or AVI file, this sort of problem usually can be fixed in the software settings. You can often adjust the picture so that everything fits within the "TV Safe" area, with the rest of the area filled with black bars, the result being similar to letterboxed/widescreen video. It may also be an improper conversion from PAL to NTSC. PAL, a television system used in Europe and other areas, has a higher vertical resolution, so perhaps part of the image was cut off while being converted.

Mike there have been many entires re wiggly verticals when shows are made for tv do a search of the forum for starters see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=2454 it is a complicated subject the simplest fix is forget about borders if the end result is meant for tv and run the screen size 95 to 100% get your fiddlin hat on and you will win:) ken

Malcolm see http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/ what's new and if you start p2e help / about gives some of the names of developers etc Bill Hines the owner of " Beechbrook" saw a "need" for a central "depositry" for members to share their shows and supports it on his own and by Member Donations. Can't say how the French sites got started but i would imagine they were developed along the same lines - people from the AV world need a "place" to share not only shows but photos , club news , a problem forum similar to this forum. Now DESERT DAVE has started a gallery and forum -- he is located in Arizona - http://www.creatingslideshows.com/forum/ - you might write him at dave@creatingslideshows.com also see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...act=ST&f=3&t=87 for other members sites and email addies. ken
