  7. Candi you cannot make a dvd using a cd-r you can make a vcd or a svcd on a cd-r depending on the original file size your burner may not "like" dvd+r discs - mine drive seems to prefer dvd-r disks -- out of 100 dvd+r discs it balked on some disks -- put in a dvd-r for first copy and it worked - for second copy i put in the dvd+r it had rejected and now it accepeted it buy dvd-r and try have you read Igor's "how to make an avi" and imported the avi into movie factory there have been some problems with movie factory - use the search feature of the forum Igor thought he had the problem's solved we also need to know what version of p2e you are using operating sustem description is also helpful ken
  8. Terry what is your default graphic editor what program opens a jpeg when you double click it that is your preferred editor so in the left row of pictures - name - size - date and you right click one of the picture icons, the roll out gives you the option to open the picture and if photo shop is your default editor it should open it is this what you are looking for ? ken

DVD-R is likely the most compatible format - it will not play in most "early" 1996-1998 DVD set-top boxes, but should be OK in everything after about 2000. After 1998 most set-top box manufacturers realized that they weren't doing much good in preventing movie piracy by not playing recorded discs. To make a disc for any sort of set-top box, you need to make it a real DVD Movie disc with a movie authoring program. There are ways to make this with still pictures, but do not rely on some boxes's ability to display a disc full of JPEG pictures. I know of no realistic differences between DVD-R and DVD+R discs in terms of data storage, longevity or readability - except older DVD-ROM drives will read DVD-R discs and not DVD+R discs. I would recommend DVD-R for everything unless you know something about where the disc is going. -- Paul Crowley CD-ROM Productions / InfinaDyne http://www.cdromprod.com / http://www.infinadyne.com
