  1. Harry if you planned on trying to use the avi you create before you make a vcd, svcd, dvd, you are correct -- it is only a temp file as described here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=1408 as pte does not make a permanent avi is likely the reason why you never got any comments ken
  2. Joe the easiest thing is to setup a folder for each show and copy your pictureds to the applicable folder -- also copy your music and any other things that you will use for that show and work out of that folder -- then if you decide you are no longer going to use the show you can easily copy the whole thing to a cd-r and delete the folder for disc space ken
  3. Alan, if you take money for your services you are classed as a professional or businessman. when Photos by Ken was still in business, I had to collect taxes, pay them to the government and file income tax forms for pbyk as well as from my regular job -- pbyk was not a great money maker -any money generated went to more equipment - it was a hobby business. There is nobody on this forum whose show was shown to a group unknown to the owner/author, who would not accept positive remarks from the viewers. It is too bad that "the law" has to stick their nose into someone's pleasure. Over here the health dept's are starting to investigate church suppers for improper food preparation etc -- not that i go to church suppers but it is the principle the "tree huggers" will soon have their way and we will need permits to keep on living ken
  4. Brian, why not post it to the cottage, am sure Bill would put it in the utility section. you already have my addie ken
  5. for moire probs see Wayne Fulton's www.scantips.com http://www.scantips.com/search/search.pl?T...atch=1&p%3Apm=1 i also think that Geo commented on the moire effect one time http://www.gdesroches.com/formation/liste.htm http://www.gdesroches.com/formation/fnumerscanner.htm Maybe George will jump in here with an english translation also see moire http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8...le+Search&meta= basically scan real big -- save as a tiff and resize the tiff resaving as a jpg to the desired size to minimize the moire effect when i scan an 8x10 i set my microtek software at 300 dpi - the resulting tiff is +- 25 mb then resized and save as a jpg at 800/600 80% compression the pict is +- 150 kb the moire effect has been been discussed many times onm the forum see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...te=moire+effect ken

  7. tlc do a save as to give your show a name and a directory where it is saved-- this will save all your settings then do a create as -- and this creates an exe into said directory see PTE 101 Tutorial File Size: 11.8M By: alrobin@alrobinso... 18. Igor, When I start a new show, i assemble all the parts -- picts, music, icons, text files etc in a new properly named folder on one of my various drives. I start the show using a s/c for the latest version of p2e. I then give a new command, and direct the pte to the drive and folder for the show. I add all picts, icon, make my entry exit slides -- i do every thing that has to be done before adding the music, doing save as / create as, as i progress. I will run the show looking for things i might have missed. Now it is time to add the music. By default,Pict to Exe goes to "c" drive for the music -- it should have enough smarts by this point to know the folder i am working out of which is very rarely on the "c" drive ken
