  1. Brian -- hope you got an expense account to handle that long distance call ken
  2. Brian have done a search about nero failing after xp sp2 install - -not having any luck and none of the newsgroup forums i sub to are not mentiioning anything unusual -- i am holding off for a bit as one of my web buds said .....It was pointed out to me once that EARLY PIONEERS USUALLY ENDED UP WITH MANY ARROWS IN THEIR BACKS do you have any data/url i can read ken
  3. CSchmittie Craig welcome to the forum see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...l=to+beechbrook btw i experienced the same problems as Ron with your site ken
  4. Deirdré Straughan used to be a technical writer for Adaptec/Roxio and ran the old adaptec forum. She is on her own as a technical writer - she publishes a newsletter every couple of weeks. her bio here http://www.straughan.com/whatido/index.html she has been experimenting now with video and has some posted you can see I imagine she will answer your questions ken
  5. screen savers-- didn't they go out with win 3.1 ken
  6. Fred will have to try it -- did you not do a create as at all?? ken
  7. ROXIO 7 SUITE, NERO 6 SUITE & WINDVD 5 PLATINUM work fine with the P2E created avi. ULead 2 full also worked on my other system. i prefer Nero and WinDvd for the user interface I am basically making everything to dvd now -- the exe is just a necessary step along the way. ken
  8. loweskid it is likely your isp's server at fault -- they need to flush their cache - happens quite often i downloaded it at +- 13 00 edst at got the final edition of 4.30 from history PicturesToExe v4.30 (August 20, 2004) ken
  9. Paula the files you downloaded were exe's so getting a different version of p2e will have no bearing on "the music" wont play problem there is a final of pte issued -- ver 4.3 ken
  10. just a fyi Programs that may behave differently in Windows XP Service Pack 2 see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...ct=windowsxpsp2 ken
  11. cc21 welcome to the forum you can control the movement of your show with the remote of your dvd but if you want individual slides you can just burn them to the dvd as jpg's and depending on the dvd player they will play as a slide show -- read your dvd manual now i have never done it but the "chapters" option of nero and roxio might allow you to insert a jpeg as a chapter you will have to experiment. ken
  12. Alan welcome to the forum. i have 5 dvd players and none will play avi's- 2 of them will play some mpgs. the same 2 will play mp3's burned on a dvd-r the cheap ones today - $50 are playing nearly all you throw at them see http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers so you need to make up several disks mixed jpg's/mp3 cdr's dvd-r dvd-rw cd-rw with stuff on them and go shopping/trying what will work you also need to look at what type your family/friends use ken
  13. DSL you could always enter the text with your graphics editor -- if it requires special fonts then that is the way to go i have experimented quite a bit with bottom placement of text -- takes a bit of doing tho' -- if you do it with a few pictures with your screen at 1024/768 -- burn a vcd first to check placement on the tv just like riding a bike -- you fall a few times at first but eventually you get it-- you read about how much fiddling some members are doing with slide placement/music sync etc - the text issue is a piece of cake ken
  14. Dslrocks welcometo the forum. see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=3&t=2253 ken
  15. Steve welcome to the forum the vid file that pte creates is a temp file I used to use tmpgenc to take that temporary vid file and convert it to permanent mpeg files then when i had enough to make a show import those mpeg's into nero or roxio dvd makers http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html if you do a search of the forum for tmpgenc you will find many threads i changed my system so now i bypass the tmpgenc step -- but i would still use it if needed ken
  16. Stevie welcome to the forum see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...404&hl=push+pte and pg 2 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=20entry9957 been there done that:) ken
  17. BRIAN i had no problem -- i read the instructions on the web page on how to do it to the pro version ken http://www.yourwaresolutions.com/products....allFreeRAMXPPro How do I uninstall FreeRAM XP Pro? I can't find FreeRAM XP Pro under Add/Remove Programs, etc. To UNINSTALL: In the program window (not from the system tray), click on the Information menu, which is third from the left under the title bar (beginning with the File and Settings menus). Then click on the Uninstall option. Click here to see an image of the program, indicating where to access the uninstall option. After the uninstall process ends, delete the executable file (program file). Note: You may have to restart before deleting the program file. To manually install (not recommended; for advanced users only), first exit out of FreeRAM XP Pro, and then delete the program file. Note: You may have to restart before deleting the program file. Next, open the Start Menu and click on Run. Type in regedit and hit Enter. Delete the key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\YourWare Solutions. Then navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete the value named FreeRAM XP to complete the uninstall process. Back to top

  21. Scooley from http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8...nt+screen&meta= see http://www.seoconsultants.com/windows/tips...-screen-key.htm ken
  22. Brian i just quoted what is on the page FreeRAM XP Lite 1.03 for Win 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP (obsolete; replaced by FreeRAM XP Pro) i am using it but it is hard to say whether or not it is doing much on my p4 2.8 intel with 1 gig ram and 1 gig swp file ken
  23. scooley to get you started with this why not use the windows print screen function - paste into windows paint program and alt+print scrn only copies the active window -- then saveas a jpg to a screen shot folder no money invested, then when you have some experience doing it you can purchase one of the previously mentioned pieces. ken
  24. David the lite version was superseded by 1.4 pro yesterday http://www.yourwaresolutions.com/products.html FreeRAM XP Lite 1.03 for Win 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP (obsolete; replaced by FreeRAM XP Pro) ken
