  8. that is normal your original question was when tmpgenc is finished with it is in that state for svcd - cant say for dvd as i dont have dvd burner -- but i did "simulate" burning a dvd on a cd-r and there were 2 folders on the disk when completed instead of the 4 that nero 5.5 creates for a non menu driven svcd you can open numerous instances of p2e, make avi's -- you must leave them open -- pick them up with nero and do your thing -- but when the you are finished with the avi's and click the finish button of p2e they are gone -- they are only temp files -- if you save them as an avi they will only play music once the associated p2e is closed -- this is by design. see first entry in thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=1408 ken
  9. Phil this is my statement that JRR was referring to i believe http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=1615 ken
  10. Eric if you convert the avi file with tmpgenc to a vcd, svcd, or svcd, then half the work is done. when you have enough for your show you import them into the vcd, svcd, dvd creating program of your choice, and make your final disk you will have to study this thread http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=1408 and others for all the details you are on the right track if you have Tmpgenc and nero i make up the files with tmpgenc --- i have 2 dvd players that will play the resulting file with nothing else done to them -- when i get the shows right to view on the tv i then put them together with nero 5.5 ken
  11. Hans cant find your show at http://www.fanaphot.com/commentaires/michel.php ken
  12. using the sync format with nav bar showing, full contol and never hide mouse settings; I have been testing the "push" and "slide" transitions --default "slide" was ok but "push" had to be set at 4000 from the default 1500 to get rid of jerkiness -- the slight jerk with "slide" setting smooths out when converted I also set images to full screen to try a panorama effect -- the picts were not ones that were "lined up" but were of the same area -- snow in Newfoundland -- am sure the other Canadian members have seen them.[picts have been pulled from web site - have asked webmaster if they are gone] when i put the exe's thru TMPGEnc and converted to svcd file's they worked perfect on the 29" tv. ken
  13. The Image Suite Sounds like ANTI VIRUS settings are incorrect -- it is an exe which is normally blocked no problem getting or running it and enjoying Andrew's fine work -- i especially enjoy the "phone booth" dominoe effect -- on first view i thought they were "johnnie on the spot's" then i seen the windows ken
  14. Nobody forces anybody to use beta as their final tool -- one can always stay with the last final -- think it was 4.14, but look at all the new things that one would miss. Igor's beta's have been stable for some time now -- he hasnt issued a new one 2 days after the last one in quite a long time. I must have nearly a doz beta's and final editions installed -- 3.50 is the version in the main directory on C:\Program Files\PicturesToExe by having all these versions i can switch back with no problem weve come a long way and the only way we have come this far is by forum members making suggestions to Igor and crew how they can improve the proggie, then testing testing testing. In a way we are similar to the space program, they test test before they make a "final" ken

  21. the following is a quote from Trend Micro weekly newsletter ken 2. Gloom and Doom - WORM_MYDOOM.A (Medium Risk) WORM_MYDOOM.A is a mass-mailing worm that is currently circulating in-the-wild, and affects computers running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP. This worm selects from a pre-determined list of email subjects, message bodies, and attachment file names that it uses for the email messages it sends. It spoofs the sender name of its messages, so that the messages appear to have been sent by different users instead of the actual users of infected machines. WORM_MYDOOM.A also propagates through the Kazaa peer-to-peer file-sharing network. WORM_MYDOOM.A performs a denial of service (DoS) attack against the Web site www.sco.com. It attacks the site if the infected computer system date is February 1, 2004 or later. It ceases attacking the site and running most of its routines on February 12, 2004. It also runs a backdoor component, which it drops as the file SHIMGAPI.DLL. This backdoor component allows remote users to access and manipulate infected systems. Note that it allows remote access even after February 12, 2004. Upon execution, this worm drops two files: SHIMGAPI.DLL - a backdoor DLL component of this worm TASKMON.EXE - a copy of this worm (Note: A legitimate Windows utility with the same file name can be found in the Windows folder on some systems) It also adds a registry entry that allows it to automatically execute at every Windows startup. If the registry entry already exists, the worm overwrites the entry. It also adds a registry entry that allows its backdoor DLL file component to automatically execute at startup. This registry entry injects SHIMGAPI.DLL into EXPLORER.EXE during startup. This worm uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) to send email and to propagate. It gathers recipient email addresses using the following three methods: the Windows Address Book by searching for email addresses and domain names from files with specific file extensions, located in the Temporary Internet Files folder (please read the Technical Details section of the virus description for more detailed information on the specific file extensions) by constructing additional email addresses by prepending specific strings from obtained domain names (please read the Technical Details section of the virus description for more detailed information on the specific strings) It sends email with the following details: From: (any of the following) Spoofed email address taken from list of harvested and generated addresses Random characters Blank Subject: (any of the following) <blank> <random characters> Error Status Server Report Mail Transaction Failed Mail Delivery System hello hi test Message Body: (any of the following) <blank> <garbage data> The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment. The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a binary attachment. Mail transaction failed. Partial message is available. test Attachment: (The attachment may arrive as a .ZIP file. If it does not, then the attachment name is taken from any of several specific combinations of filenames and extension names. Please read the Technical Details section of the virus description for more detailed information on the specific filenames and extensions: ) This worm also has the capability to spread via Kazaa, a peer-to-peer file sharing application, by dropping a copy of itself in the Kazaa shared folder. In addition, the worm performs a Denial of Service (DoS) attack on the Web site www.sco.com. The DoS attack is triggered if the system date is greater than, or equal to, February 1, 2004. During the DoS attack, the worm creates 63 threads that continuously request the main page of www.sco.com. The DoS attack continues until February 12, 2004. On this date, the worm stops most of its routines, except for its backdoor functionalities. This backdoor component, which is dropped as the file SHIMGAPI.DLL, allows remote users to manipulate infected machines into downloading and executing arbitrary files. If you would like to scan your computer for WORM_MYDOOM.A or thousands of other worms, viruses, Trojans and malicious code, visit HouseCall, Trend Micro's free, online virus scanner at: http://housecall.trendmicro.com WORM_MYDOOM.A is detected and cleaned by Trend Micro pattern file #745 and above.
  22. burp in sound is gone in revised show -- neat effects ken
  23. back from the drawing board - 18:28 1/31/04 original test i picked the default recommended mpeg-1 video cd -- on completion of this step i got an error message that the mpeg might cause an error when played,- started nero 5.5 and selected to make a vcd, dragged the file to column, nero analyzed it and the error menu came up, due to the error previously, i picked re encode, the resulting disc gave me sound but just a bunch of pixels started again Went thru the choices of the TMPGEnc simple multiplex menu and instead of the recommended mpeg-1 video cd, i picked mpeg-1 video cd non standard previously on completion of this step i got an error message that the mpeg might cause an error when played, this time i did not get the message. using nero 5.5 i dragged the new file into column -- nero gave warning error message that stream encoding was invalid for svcd etc what do you want to do -- i picked turn off standard compliance and continue. let it do it's thing -- disk played perfect in the 3 machines that would play normally svcd -- the 3 machines detected it as a vcd -- tried it on the 2 non svcd machines -- nothing but black screen and no sound yet one machine detected it as a vcd. so in my case the header trick does not do what it was supposed to do. ken
  24. ran ok on my system other than a burp in the sound -- at the words "little town~ " if you revise it please change the file name to reflect the revison thks ken
