Isabel just remember that Igor has not allowed for midi files for the avi's yet from a quick google search - midi tutorial http://www.harmony-central.com/MIDI/Doc/tutorial.html http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/tutr/miditutr.htm lots of hits these were the first 2 ken

did it run on a home dvd player why should you have to put an autorun.inf for a "home svcd"? my tests were to put disk in the home dvd player and have it play the svcd -- the player would not detect the svcd components now if you extracted the mpeg of the svcd and added it and the exe that is a different situation which i will have to try but still need to know why one has to add a computer command to a player that is not a computer please explain your "working" method ken

Igor you try it your way and report results success failure i have already done my part ken

Robert, when i send a video signal to my avermedia coversion box to the vcr's to make a vhs tape, i get a squiggle on the right side if there is a vertical border -- i have to either make the images bigger or adj image size to the vcr with the avermedia box settings -- i think it is caused by a "weak video" signal and/or some rf interference. I ran a svcd test for another member and his pictures were not big enough to fill the tv screen and there was some wiggling apparent -- bottom line, i think you will have to experiment to get the right picture size when you are first putting your show together and/or get rid of borders -- this avi feature has opened up a whole new outlook on show preparation ken

Malcolm for starters see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=4&t=1408 and the instructions are in the help file of ver 4.2 beta 1,2,3 and 4 you still have not said if your Pioneer player is also a dvd burner a cd burner will make a vcd or a svcd but not a dvd and i dont know whether ezcd 5 supports dvd creation ver 6 platinum does you will either have to read your manual or visit the Roxio site ken

I guess it would be a VI file then I believe process requires the audio track to properly sync the video when the avi option came on the scene I believe Igor explained this use search for audio+Igor ken

I was able to make a svcd show and for some reason my Koss decided it would play it as well as my first svcd attempts made when we first started the avi experience used beta 3 roxio 6 platinum with latest updates show i used took 13 mins to encode a 3.8 mb p2e exe and it took 19 mins to encode the same to svcd viewed on the 13" monitor style tv the transitions were smoother and picts seemed sharper something to remember FROM THE ROXIO 6 HELP FILE SVCD Stands for Super Video Compact Disc. A standard for displaying full motion pictures with associated audio on CD based on MPEG-2 video and audio. An SVCD can be played in most newer-model set-top DVD players, holds approximately 15-20 minutes of video, and results in higher video quality than the VCD format (but is not as good as the video quality in the DVD or miniDVD formats). so if one is trying to make svcd, keep show time within limits ken

dont do anything till after xmas easiest way is to buy the upgrade xp if you want to keep stuff ken

Robert has a full editon of XP, not the upgrade, so i think he has to make special plans -- maybe the partition, dual boot route ken

I may be wrong in this, but i believe the same fancy font that you use in a word.doc, email message etc must also be on the receiving system. p2e shows that are made with Lucinda Handwriting for example, do not display on a system that does not have Lucinda Handwriting, the system font is displayed. but once a p2e show is converted to a vcd for example and burned to a cd the font stays with the finished vcd show. ken
