  1. Patrick the show locked me up i thought until i read this entry - had quite a time stpping thisgs -- esc would not work -- it took a bit for my xp taskmanager to id it. so if you could enable the esc to kill show would solve the "emergency" i had . great show nonetheless ken
  2. great shows Michel, Fujiboy had done one the Alsace area and that got me looking into it's history -- great wine country fujiboy's site http://users.skynet.be/michel.geeraert/ these type of show's open one's eyes up to the "old world" as well as "today's world" this is where an english version explaining the pictures would be great -- like a scrolling text across the bottom of the slides and a pause feature so i can study the indivdual frames and a built in translator and a ???? i hope as these enhancements to P2E are developed, the shows are all redone with latest features ken
  3. Alan this is what i got back when i tried to reply to your latest Hi. This is the qmail-send program at eircom.net. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. 8. an example of how things are "opening up" see Look Inside Many of Our Books! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/brows...9482085-2287017 they already have scanned in 150,000 books -- page by page more today see http://www.nytimes.com/2003/10/27/business...a/27amazon.html I believe you must be a registered NY times web subscriber -- it is free ken
  9. see http://www.somewhere-in-time.net/tutorial/irfanview/ and http://www.somewhere-in-time.net/tutorial/photoshop/ irfanview adheres to the KISS principle ken
  10. Bill, that link no go so try http://www.jimwillsher.co.uk/Site/Main_Intro.asp ken
  11. Ron give us the average size of each slide you should aim for < 100kb/image what is the size of the music files most people use mp3 files at +- 3 mb/ea normal email attachment size is < 4mb -- due to the way a mail program functions it adds "overhead" so the resulting email and file is likely close to 5.5 mb AOL) only allows for uploaing 16mb -- you will have to explain this further yahoo used to limit the uploading of files to their servers to a total of 30 meg -then you could give friends an url to go to, to download the files - this was not email but files -- picts, exe's etc. if you planned on uploading to http://beechbrook.com/upload/ for forum members to see, the present size would not be a problem, but you should get it's size down. you will have to tell us what cd burning program you are using but you will just burn the exe as a data file to a cd-r and make sure the disk is "closed" if you are giving it to somebody otherwise depending on their system they may not be able to play it. burning cd's is another can of worms and should be in a separate thread ken
  12. Ronnie first of all you did a save as and that created a pte file example ron first show.pte this contains all your settings now you must do a create as this will make an exe example ron first show.exe make sure the exe will run when you double click it when you have that done come back to this trhead and tell us the size of the exe then we will proceed from there ken
  13. from one Ken to another Ken -- don't worry about the DOH, tthe question comes up every day or so ken
  14. John thanks for advising the forum of your success and your purchase ken
  15. at the present time if you sync you get no nav bar next version might give you the control you want training manual -- read every entry in the forum is the best advice the way Igor upgrades the program it is nearly impossible to keep the help files updated let alone burn a cd -- by the time it is published and distributed it would be out of date. But bbdigital has cd's for sale -- from my entry http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...T&f=3&t=87&st=0 Barry Beckham's site is best described by Barry "I have quite a large web site here www.bbdigital.co.uk and a few pte slide shows as demos here if anyone is interested." Web Site:- www.bbdigital.co.uk or www.barrybeckham.co.uk I have tidied up my web page for PTE and put up a couple of new slide shows. The url is http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu..._av/explain.htm Just click on the thumbnail to download E-mail :- barry@bbdigital.co.uk barry@barrybeckham.co.uk barry.beckham@ntlworld.com read -- practice -- read -- practice-- read -- practice is your best bet ken
  16. I start out with a folder Pictures.then Picts 2003, then folders wihtin that folder example - Roadrace Oct 20 03, newspaper scans, flowers 2003, etc,. I have a separate P2E shows folder -- when i start a show, i start a folder and copy and paste all applicable material i use in that show to that specific folder -- music, icons, notes, picts etc and of course the pte and the exe are saved to that folder. you will have to do what is comfortable for yourself -- i am comfie with my method, and it looks lke yours is similar to mine when i want to put jpgs on a cd to view on tv via dvd player, i just put a 100 +- jpgs together in a folder c/w with notes - i use ezcd to burn them as a data disc -- ezcd opens the folder and i drag all picts notes etc [data] to the applicble window and burn it, i let the built in software on the dvd player to do the slideshow. the notes are just for yourself to fall back on if their is anything specific you want to remember about this collection -- it could also be a readme to read by somebody else on a computer i should add that i name each picture to the specific roll of film and or date -- this is a bit easier with film as all framses are numbered, but digital uses a different system -- and therefore if you want the date you will have to read the EXIF data -- now Irfanview will read the INFORMATION and leave it intact if you resize, rename, adj colour but say if you open the shot in some other software , make changes to the picture, the software could strip the exif data from your retouched photo. you will have to experiment with what your software will do to your original digital photos -- i can only guess at some of these digital problems as i only get to samples that are sent to me -- a former co worker sent me a picture of his family yesterday -- he sent it full size un retouched -- i resized it and lightened it with irfanview -exif data was stll there- i know him and his wife but the last i saw his kids was 20 years ago so i opened picture with Compupic pro and put names on each -- when i did my save as it stripped all the exif data too little info is worse than too much "so much to remember, so little time" ken
  17. Ron - Ronnie welcome to the forum PTE can do a lot of things but animated titles or animated gifs it doesnt do where do you want to put the credits - do you want a slide saying "blah blah" inserted at the start or end or somewhere during the show ?? what titles do you want -- the name of the picture if you give us some more info, i am sure somebody will have the answer you are looking for ken

  23. Cindy my system pIII 1.3 ghz with 512 mb ram your demo show ran as smooth as silk it is quite apparent that you have done your homework because it looks like you have incorporated pretty well all the features of p2e -- far more than i could ever hope to do for others to see go to http://daydreamsart.com/Information1.html my only complaint was finding the demo -- had to crank my brightness up to max ken
