  5. see http://www.picturest...chwitz%20&st=40 his last post is in the whole thread -- you have read the whole thing - Andrew had a heck of a time and he entered many trials http://www.mediafire.com/?qnz5dywjygy ken
  6. DAVY whether you like it or not does not matter - you put your grey matter to use to create it the show reminded me of the string trick that people used to do with a circle of string intertwined thru their fingers -- i could never do it but enjoyed seeing it done music was popcorn i think and it was great as well good job well done ken
  7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_pluribus_unum Latin for "Out of many one", I would translate that as meaning Lin has a lot of irons in the fire:) ken
  8. JIM see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11318&view=findpost&p=72965 Igor has acknowleged the prob ken

  10. Peter i think my problem was not waiting for actions to carry on - ie too many clicks also, tho i have helped Ronnie and Hawk sort out menu problems,we were generally on msn messenger and notes were not kept at my end as i would never attempt building one but am willing to help as you know to conduct testing to the extent of my ability -- you already know i cant add so math situations are out of my baliwick. some background on the hide taskbar problem here http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9637&st=0&p=63224entry63224 The other problem is that Marcovelo's HidesTaskBar v2 (to hide the taskbar during play back of videos) seems to be incompatible with PTE v5.6.1. ken
  11. Peter using xp sp3 ver 6 to open the afore mentioned pte's i did not experience the taskbar siting but then i got the menu going and experienced taskbar flash on v 5.64 and v6.01 - all 6 buttons Ron West, Hawk and myself done some experimenting last year off forum with Ron's menu and ver 5.7 - think we settled on hdwe acc off to stop the flash tried to go back to recheck and the buttons will not work for me now -- got them working -- brain not working right ken
  12. PETER hdmi direct fom the pc is likely the best you can get -- i dont have the capability - but i have a svhs output to my 37" lcd tv and tho the signal does not fill the screen completely, an exe is crisper than the same show on dvd by outside the box -- once pte has done it's thing making an avi or a file, i am done with pte, then i have to convert the file with 3rd party software -- nero or such my work is for my own use and am satisfied with results with the gear i have. ken
  13. Dave the difference between you and others is I think outside the box -- the computer does the work of building etc then i convert for playing on the ws tv by dvd I have been told that i have enough junk that i need no more so i use what i have ) the bottom line an aspect ratio of 16:9 ken
  14. For an example see http://www.boiseweek...i-sue-idaho-bar http://www.google.ca...aylor+swift+sue from what i have read , the music police can nail you for playing a radio in a public place and when you buy a piece of software, music, movie etc it just gives you the right to use it, not to copy it unless specified by the producer or as Maureen and others have said you buy a licence Brian or others can qualify my statements ken
  15. Peter see http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/dataformats/imagedim/ 1920/1080 = 16/9, 1080i format try it and see how it looks Paul Templeton put up a show that was 1720/1141 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11242&view=findpost&p=72507 and Luc Moreels put up one at 1680/1050 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11242&view=findpost&p=72574 that filled my ws monitor if you dowload these 2 shows you will see their settings show on your monitor Myself, i have had success showing on my 37" HD tv using 1354/900 DaveG has quoted elswhere in forum good results -do a search ken
  16. Xaver great idea ken
  17. the problem as i see it -- the other day there was a thread - she asked for help several members seemingly fixed her problem -- she was delighted i asked which answer fixed it -- no answer or another case where somebody thought they had it fixed and 2 days later it reared its head again ken
  18. PETER thks for the extra effort getting this done -- must have been like a big jigsaw puzzle:) ken
  19. Laz the way i tested, i put the exe in a folder containing a folder with the shows and click start and it searches within the main folder - G:\1_P2E HOLDER\STU RAND TESTS\PlayView beta 1\FINAL PLAYVIEW 1 - it does not search outside the main folder the main folder G:\1_P2E HOLDER\STU RAND TESTS\PlayView beta 1 if you put the exe on the desktop it will search the entire system C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop looked at your error file and then looked at the help file if i am reading it right then Process : File Name RestrictionsPlayView will not list the following exe file names even if the name exists anywhere in its full file path string. File name is not case sensitive and includes upper and lower case letters. setupuninstinstalldeletewindowsprogramyou have the word windows in the file nametry renameken
  20. Peter yes i was aware of the possible outbound traffic problem but over the years of listening to people having firewall problems i made my choice and trust the NAT:) thanks for bringing up the point tho' because quite a few people are not aware of these things. ken
  21. Laz when i tested it , i used pte shows from the forum and beechbrook without a problem a colllection of 40 exe's i used zip playview v1 that i got dec 29 09 the exe is dec 28 09 ken
  22. GEOFF many moons ago [early win 95], an IT guy that i respected told me if i had a router i would not have to worry about a 3rd party firewall, i took his advice bought a router been happy ever since -- i also disabled the windows firewall see http://support.novell.com/techcenter/articles/ana19980304.html my present IT man has checked my system settings and he is happy -- my wireless router looks after 3 systems ken
  23. Joy which one was the answer to your problem? ken
  24. Further to my last post, http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11286&view=findpost&p=72749 ran tests again after an overnight fresh boot -- nothing other than normal system going on the results -- same results -- so the mipmap boxes being checked or the maxmem being on produce the same reults on my system IMHO maxmem is the easiest ken
  25. JIM IS NOT JUST A "PRETTY" FACE great job ken
