  1. I noticed that Windows PTE AV Studio created slideshows (Executable File for PC) checks for a .pteav of the same name before looking inside itself for .pteav data. For instance, if I have test1.exe (created with Executable File for PC) and test1.pteav (created with Show for Mac) it will play the contents of test1.pteav (might not contain the same media as test1.exe) if they are both in the same folder. Maybe PTE AV Studio only has one type of player which may or may not be integrated with data, so it defaults to searching for a .pteav file first? Maybe just normal behavior? Thanks, Tom
  2. I'm not sure if this is how it works for everyone else but on both Windows and Mac I just use "Run Slideshow With Return" and point to the .pteav file. It seems to work fine. I'm guessing it just uses the same player in memory instead of loading a new copy. Thanks, Tom
  3. Thanks everyone. I know the name is kind of misleading. Maybe I should have made two versions, inflate and deflate. So many variations possible of a simple theme. Tom
  4. Hi Smithrg, The transition editor makes it easy to create transitions and it's fun to experiment. Thanks, Tom
  5. I'm sure others have created such a transition but it is fun to experiment. The outer buttons are 100% opacity and inner buttons are variable opacity. Created on Mac, tested on Windows. 16:9 aspect ratio. Images from pixabay.com. Thanks, Tom Balloon.pteeff
  6. Welcome Jacques, I think this will help. https://docs.pteavstudio.com/en-us/10.0/customtransition/main?s[]=transitions#import_custom_transitions Thanks, Tom
  7. Thanks everyone. It's a very simple transition compared to most other custom transitions. I have added 4 corner diagonal transitions in this version. Probably many other variations possible with a little imagination. Tom Stretch 2.pteeff
  8. Very simple transition. Sorry if someone else already posted. Created on Mac and tested on Windows. 16:9 Format. Media from pixabay.com. Thanks, Tom Stretch.pteeff
  9. I was using the Windows version but the Mac user interface is identical. Mac and Windows projects are compatible. The performance of the Mac M1 version is fantastic. Kudos to the developers. Thanks, Tom
  10. Interesting. There are two other apps I have never used. Maybe you have Wine or CrossOver installed? For me the file CHESS.zip extracts to CHESS.exe. CHESS.exe will extract out to a 0 byte % file. Another unsolved mystery. Tom
  11. Hi Henri, The PTE transition editor is amazing. So many different transitions are possible. Thanks, Tom
  12. If you can play the .exe on an Intel processor Mac then you are probably using either 1) Bootcamp 2) VMWare Fusion 3) Parallels. It might be possible in the future Igor could associate .exe files with the PTE AV Player and it would automatically extract the .pteav/.ptshow data. Definitely great slideshow of 3D animation. Thanks, Tom
  13. Hi MUR, Amazing 3D. Thanks, Tom
  14. 16x9 Variation on Flip 3D. Created on Mac and tested on Windows. Nothing special. Just practicing using a mask. Thanks, Tom Flipper.pteeff
  15. I know that it's possible but it's not as simple as Windows screen recording. Part of the problem is M1 software compatibility. Besides screen recording this is also a problem with Mac remote desktop audio. When I remote desktop into my Windows PC I can hear audio. When I remote desktop into my Mac there is no audio. Sure, there are software solutions to this problem like Airfoil, but they are add ons and usually cost extra. Thanks, Tom
  16. I tried to watch on my Mac but inside the zip container file is a single .exe instead of a "Safe Executable File for PC". Without a separate data file (.pteshow/.pteav) the show is not viewable on Macs. If you want as many viewers as possible to watch a slideshow then I think the "Safe Executable File for PC" method is currently the only method. In the future I hope Windows has the same PTE AV Player capability (installed as a separate app and file association) as the Mac version. The other option might be some sort of decompiler that can extract .ptav files from .exe slideshows, but that sounds complicated. Thanks, Tom
  17. I agree. I think the Wnsoft team of programmers have done an amazing job. Many other Apple developers are still working on updating their software to run native ARM code on Apple silicon (not via Rosetta 2). https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/03/18/apple-nailed-the-transition-to-m1-apple-silicon-why-are-so-many-mac-developers-blowing-it Tom
  18. Very nice. The Album style is one of my favorites. I wish Album was available as a transition so it would work with longer videos. I know the person who created it is very busy. Maybe in the future if we are lucky. Thanks, Tom
  19. I like my Mac but screen audio recording can be difficult compared to a Windows PC. The latest version of ChromeOS has screen recording but so far nothing I have tried compares to a good Window screen recorder. Sometime I want to try an external HDMI recorder like Atomos Ninja V (for camera and PC recording). https://www.atomos.com/products/ninja-v Tom
  20. Rosy, Still waiting for my first jab. Like you I have an older version of Camtasia. Still works but screen recording is limited to 30 fps. Barry, Short explanation is jack of all trades, master of none. Long explanation is that like many of us, I have been playing with computers for many years. I tend to accumulate hardware and software. Tom Update: 21 March 2021. I just checked and Camtasia 8.6 still works with Windows 10 latest Insider Preview Edition. Version 10.0.21337 Build 21337
  21. For Windows 10 I have used OBS, Bandicam/Bandicut, GeForce, Mirillis Action!, Xbox Game Bar, Techsmith Camtasia/Snagit, FastStone Capture, Wondershare Filmora 10, VideoProc, and Screenbits. For a long time I was a big fan of Bandicam but currently Screenbits ( $7 on Microsoft Store/$8 Steam) is my favorite. Simple and lightweight. https://www.screenbits.com/ For the Mac (also works on Windows) I really like free version of Loom for internet facing videos since it's free for short 5 minute videos and easy to share. I also have videoproc and Filmora 10 for the Mac that can screen record but you have to be careful to capture the audio correctly. https://www.loom.com/screen-recorder For cutting/splitting/joining video I think Bandicut is really good. https://www.bandicam.com/bandicut-video-cutter/ And for Windows screen image capture I have always liked FastStone Capture. The screen recorder function is limited to 30 fps wmv format but the image capture and editor is great. https://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm There are dozens of other screen recorders like TinyTake I have not tried. Tom
  22. I am glad you have created a duplicate data format for both operating systems. I was wondering if it would be possible to associate the .ptshow files to the Windows EXE launcher. I tried associating using "Open with" and it opens an open file dialog box instead of passing filename to launcher. I can select the .ptshow file and it plays. Thanks, Tom
  23. Hi Mark, Slide 1 is fade from black and .5 seconds long. Slide 2 has the master snow video and slides 3-5 are linked to this video. The snow video is 15 seconds long. Slide 6 begins at 26 seconds. The video plays for 15 seconds then stops. That is normal for a linked video that plays over multiple slides. You could create a longer 26 second snow video or change from linked video to single video on each slide. I did this but I had to update the file path to the video for some unknown reason. Then the video plays until slide 6. It will not require more computer resources if each slide has the same copy of a video. Amazing slideshow and I hope you share it with the forum when finished editing. Thanks, Tom
  24. I am not having the problem on my main Windows 10 computer. If it did happen I have my Mac and Chromebox that both can print to our network HP all in one printer. My first printer was an Epson MX80 9 pin dot matrix. You could start a print job, take a coffee break, and come back before it finished printing more than a couple of pages. https://global.epson.com/company/corporate_history/milestone_products/11_mx80.html Tom
  25. Hi Jim, Yes. That will also work. I was just trying to think of an easier method than grouping a bunch of .exe or .ptshow files into a zip or folder. A single file without unzipping is easier to send to someone. I think a single data file is the long term solution for media distribution. Thanks, Tom
