  1. Larry, Before you give up on the pc completely, try reformatting the HD and re-installing Windows. It could be a virus that is causing the problems, and reformatting will get rid of it, (unless you add it back in when you reinstall your programs.)
  2. Hi, Igor, Congratulations and thanks again for such a wonderful product! You produced the last 2 betas in record time!
  3. I wouldn't like to see the spacebar disabled by default, as then people might forget to apply the function to be able to use it. I'm of the opinion that the capability to pause and restart should be present in every slideshow. So many times I have been interrupted during the watching of a long show, and have had to abort and then start all over again in order to see the ending. Maybe it would be useful for some to be able to disable the pausing of a show while watching the finished exe file, but I think that since there are many different circumstances under which viewers watch the shows that the space bar should be available to all. Just my personal preference. Igor, there is one small change I would like to see though, and that is to still be able to forward and reverse a show when the pause is "on". This would allow one to step forward and backward through a show one slide at a time without having it suddenly take off again through a fast sequence.
  4. I don't know why these functions didn't work for me before, but I went back and tried again and they now seem to be working. Must have tried the wrong versionn of PTE my mistake. Sorry if I led anyone astray on this. Lin, I finally got a chance to download and try out your navigation button example, and it also works fine. Nice idea!
  5. Lin, I'm using objects, not the nav bar. When I direct PTE to jump ahead to slide 10, for example, from a button on slide 2, it still tries to start over. And when I add an image, and direct it to go ahead by a certain number of slides, it "exits" instead, as that is the "command" I just gave to a second button on the screen. I don't think these object functions have been implemented yet in PTE b-10.
  6. Dick, Try this link: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry31206
  7. foto1, Not all the button actions are activated yet in version 5, and neither are the mouse buttons. However, the forward and back arrows on the keyboard will control the advance and repeat functions, as will the navigation bar, as Ken has mentioned. At the present time in version 10, when I program the button to go to a specific slide and click on it, the show backs up one slide and repeats the image with the button. Igor, it would be nice to have these features re-enabled soon as I use a wireless mouse as a "remote control" for narrated presentations. By the way, I found a mouse that has a range of 30 ft - it works through "Bluetooth" technology instead of the more common transmission used by wireless mice with only a 5 to 10-ft range.
  8. foto1 You can still accomplish this - it's just done a different way now. Set "Time interval for new slides" to 5000 seconds and you will have all the time you need to jump around to different parts of your show.
  9. Thanks, Igor. It seems to work fine now on my laptop, but I can't check it on the pc at the moment. Will do so the first week in May and get back to you then. Congratulations on a wonderful "new" product!
  10. Igor, You are to be congratulated - you provided a very user-friendly approach to the acceleration/deceleration that so many people (myself included) wished to have. And, for anyone wanting to add a degree of control to this feature, you have also provided that capability with a very simple, easy-to-apply, method. Thanks so much!
  11. Great news, Igor! You must be working overtime. Thanks so much for your efforts! The free VB registration key will be much appreciated.
  12. Congratulations, Dom! Glad you were able to recover so quickly - great to have your site back again! Best of luck!
  13. Vivaldi wrote "The Four Seasons"; Haydn wrote a similar oratorio called "The Seasons". (see Wikipedia)
  14. Dave, What do you mean by wrong? Please describe what you are finding. As far as I know, there are no temp files associated with PTE, except for the video avi and mpeg files.
  15. Ray, Spreading the slides evenly is not "sync mode" operation. When you click "synchronize", the slides do not automatically line up, but you have the ability to use the other "sync" operations on the timeline; that is all it is really good for. For instance, you can select "Timed points/Arrange all points" to spread the slides evenly. This is meant to be just a convenience to create a starting-point from which to arrange the slides into true "sync" mode where the transitions correspond to certain beats or sounds in the music.
  16. Peter, I agree with your interpretation as long as you add "FOR COPYRIGHT FREE MUSIC". I had understood you to mean any music, whether copyright protected or not.
  17. Igor, That will be good news - especially to Tomuk!
  18. Peter, You're taking this out of context. Read the whole FAQ, particularly the part above the section you quoted. It's pertaining to the use of mp3 codecs, not the general use of copyrighted mp3 music, per se.
  19. Igor, That's strange! I don't see it at all on my system - it just starts right into the main show.
  20. Tom, You have absolutely too much time on your hands!
  21. See attached. brian_startup.zip
  22. Igor, I just tried it, and it didn't work for me.
  23. Dave, I don't think the startup window feature is activated yet in v.5
  24. Another way to remember which image has the objects is to make one of the objects the "main image" in O&A.
