Hi, Is the 'pledge slide' the FULL height of the screen? i.e is it 1024x768 pixels, The problem may be because the height of this slide is less than 768 pixels and so it is only going part way up the screen. In fact reading your question again, is the slide MORE than the height of the screen and you are trying to get it to show like credits at the end of the film? If the slide IS taller than screen height then you will need to chop it into slides which are the correct slide and then show them in sequence using the push effect. Is this what you are trying to create?

Have you scrolled to the bottom of the registration e-mail from picturetoexe ? The reason I ask is that AS WELL as attaching the key file it is also pasted in at the bottom of the mail (or at least it was on my e-mail). Look for the text . . . REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PTE] *** long string of numbers between quotes *** If you can see it, all you need to do is highlight it (from the R of regedit to the final " ) and copy, then run notepad (in Start, accessories) and click paste. Then click save and save the file as reg.txt Now try and register your software. Let me know if this works for you. Andy

Hi, Are you sure its a .MR4 file?. I use iTunes and the files are normally in .MP4 format (or .AAC) iTunes has a built in converter but its not obvious. I have just found it and tried it. You can NOT convert licenced music as its protected but anything else you can convert. (if it is protected, read my section B instructions below) A This is with iTunes V4.8.0.32 (PC). Hope fully it will work for you... 1) Run iTunes, Show the music that you want to convert 2) Goto Edit menu and select Preferences. 3) Click on the Importing tab 4) Where it shows Import Using, change the selection from the default AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder. 5) Select a suitable bitrate and click ok. 6) Select the track you want to convert and goto the Advanced menu and select Convert selection to mp3. B If the music is protected then the other way to convert is to select the tracks and burn them to a CD (from within iTunes) Then use iTunes (or Windows media player) to rip them back as mp3 files (set import Using as mp3 described above). Ripping them back removes the licence protection, A bit of a flaw if the protection system really ! n.b.) If the mp3 option is not there then you may need to install a mp3 encoder, I have one already installed on my pc so not sure if the mp3 option would not be there if you didn't. If you need an mp3 encoder then there is a FREE one which works great from lame. Download it here Lame mp3 encoder Hope this is of use to you if not, let me know Andy

To Zip or not to Zip that is the question.
centreofengland replied to Steve S's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Another reason for zipping is that you can include other files along with the presentation. Files such as a .TXT file describing what the show is about or how you created it. Windows XP has Zipping/unzipping built-in to it so there is no longer any need for people to buy additional software. I would have thought that most people know how to unzip files these days. In XP it even uses a wizard to help you. Andy -
One feature which I would like to see which I imagine should be easy to impliment is as follows : If you select and highlight a sequence of continuous images in the slide view at the bottom of PTE and then right-click I would like to be able to select an option which will reverse the highlighted slides order. e.g. If the slide images are at the bottom are as here : 01.jpg 02.jpg 03.jpg 04.jpg 05.jpg 06.jpg 07.jpg 08.jpg 09.jpg 10.jpg And I highlight slides 03.jpg through to 09.jpg then I would like to be able to select an option which would make the slide order as follows : 01.jpg 02.jpg 09.jpg 08.jpg 07.jpg 06.jpg 05.jpg 04.jpg 03.jpg 10.jpg As you can see the position of images 01, 02 and 10 remain the same but the highlighted slides have reversed. This option would have to be resticted to a continuous selection of slides. Would this be easy to add? And yes an undo function would be great as I have just tried the Rotate clock-wise option to see what it does and now I have several images which have been rotated but I can't get them back how they were originally using PTE. I will have to sort them out myself in Paint Shop Pro. Thanks Andy

I have uploaded a new show which is VERY simply and small enough for dial-up users to download (798Kb). A Fading then and now photograph HERE. One of the first things that most impressed me with PTE was the quality of the fade. Other slide show programs came no where near to the PTE. At the time I was looking for a suitable way to show off my latest creations, which were 'lined up then and now photographs'. These consist of two images of a local scene which have been taken years apart, I have spent a lot of time working out how to make the two images line up pixel for pixel so that when one image is placed on top of the other the buildings match up. By creating a slow fade between the two images allows you to see all that has changed in time. Making a show for these in PTE means I can use full screen images and also use variable fade times. This is using PTE in its simplest form, its not pushing it to its limit here but I found that it was the best solution to the problem. If you like this show then there are many more (70+) of these type of presentations, but in web page format on my website, just follow the link at the end of my presentation. Thanks Andy

Time-lapse Canal Boat Trip demo.
centreofengland replied to centreofengland's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Hi d67, No I am not interested in making a video with PTE, its not made for that purpose. I am showing users that PTE is more than a slideshow program, capable of things you could never imagine -
Time-lapse Canal Boat Trip demo.
centreofengland replied to centreofengland's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
I set the display time to 1ms as this was the fastest but as you say I'm not sure why PTE offers display timings down to 1ms as I can't believe it can show 1000 images in a second. On my P4 1.6GHz it shows the FAST show in 36 seconds, I wonder how fast it would show it on a very fast PC ? Perhaps PTE should really limit the lowest setting on the display duration to something more realistic. Does anyone know what the maximum throughput for images on PTE is? I assume it will be dependent on the PC spec, image size etc. -
Time-lapse Canal Boat Trip demo.
centreofengland replied to centreofengland's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Hi, NO I did not use the Timeline synchronisation as there is no music used in this show. I added the 630 images, highlighted the images then selected customize slide and set the Display slide for option to 1ms (for fast show) and 100ms for normal show with no transitions. Only the slow show has transtions. PTE allows you to add the whole 630 images over and over with different settings yet the final file size does not increase, PTE is Very smart software. I used to use Stop Motion Pro software to make timelapse clips But seeing what PTE can do I can see I will be using PTE from now on as its more flexible and a lot quicker at making shows. -
Hi, PTE never fails to amaze me at what it can do. I have just uploaded a show of a Time-lapse Canal Boat Journey (see HERE) which I filmed using a home made time-lapse control unit. It took a frame evey 5 seconds along the trip. Using PTE I have made a demo which shows the 630 frames in sequence at three different playback speeds. At its fastest the playback time is just 36 seconds (At this speed it is VERY demanding on the pc!) You can exit playback by pressing ESC. After the playback has finished you are returned to the main menu. At the slow playback speed you can press SPACE (or keep pressed) to speed up the playback rate. I have restricted the image size to 640x480 so that slowish PC's can view the show ok. Hope you like it. Andy

Hi daniel, I think you have to keep in mind what PTE is intended for. Its a slideshow program, its just that It has been created in such a infinitely configurable manner that you have to remind yourself sometimes that you are asking too much from it. PTE really is very versatile in the way you can show images and control them, but if you want to control 360/panormamic photos down to the n’th degree then you really need to use some software which is geared up to that particular task. The 360 photos on my website just like many other sites can be steered pixel by pixel so you are in full control of what you are looking at. Compare this to the slide effect in PTE and there is no competition but thats because PTE is NOT 360 photo viewer creation software. To get an idea of what a fully controllable 360 photo can be like just take a look at some of the ones on the . World Wide Panorama site (need Quicktime plug-in). Do try out the full-screen links, they are stunning. Hope this helps you understand why PTE is not really the ideal thing to use for 360's unless you want fixed movement control. Thanks Andy My Website

360 Degree Controlled Panoramic Photo of Derby Cat
centreofengland replied to Ken Cox's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Thanks Ken, Glad you like it. I shot it using an Olympus 5050 at max wide angle (35mm), nothing fancy on the lens. I used Panorama Factory to stitch the 31 photos together. This software is amazing at doing the job and lots better than any other software I have tried. Its fully automatic !. Just like PTE, its a little gem that you can't do without and yet does not cost a lot. Buy it now if you want to try making panoramic photos!!! There are several 360 photos on my website, If you have a Broadband internet connection then take a look. 360 degree photos (Broadband required) Thanks Andy -
360 Degree Controlled Panoramic Photo of Derby Cat
centreofengland replied to Ken Cox's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Hi, I am new to this forum but have been using PTE for two years. I created my first controlled panoramic photo using PTE back in 2003 but since reading other messages here on panoramic photos I thought it would be good to show what I had done in the past. The version I have posted on Beechbrook Here. is an upto date version of the one I did in 2003 taken in Derby Cathedral. I like 360 photos but trying to display them on web pages often has its problems such as you have to install Quicktime or JavaVM. What I like about PTE is that I can make a full screen viewer which uses every pixel of the screen for maximum 'wow factor'. Can you work out how I managed to make the scrolling controllable in both directions? Hope you like the presentation. Best wishes Andy -
I have just watched your ss and loved the Soft-edge montages of images and the way you have faded them together, Great stuff. But I am not sure what story you are trying to tell us with the images. A lot of the stuff is nice to see such as the flowers but the Lager can and the bloke doing the lawns was very strange mixed in with the other stuff. I had a mix of emotions as I watched it, I guess this is what you were trying to acheive? Thanks Andy Photos of Derby and Derbyshire.
