  1. Dave, CORRECTION It is and it will !!!!! John
  2. Dave, I don't think that's active yet in 7.5B10 John
  3. Lin, I am always astonished at the speed with which folks like you respond to requests from we lesser mortals! I fully expected not to get a responce till tomorrow so went off for a cup of coffee and on my return (20 minutes) there was my answer. Thanks Lin, I have got it working to my sattisfaction. I'm now looking forward to the implementation of the envelope tool as I am going to need for it in this job I am working on at present. Audacity, apart from major editing, is going to be redundant in my work flow from what I can see, as Igor appears to be giving us more than I for one thought we were going to get. Thanks again, John
  4. Hi Lin, I'm afraid I am not understanding this. You say "mute the video". Do you mean "Mute Audio"? You say ""add the video" to the sound track"". What do you mean by this? What I have done is - 1. Create a blank slide in the slide list 2. Select my video file by navigating to it from the "Video" symbol at the TLH corner of the O&A window. 3. Select the "Optimisze" button from the box that appears. I am perhaps not looking in the correct places but for some reason it's not working for me. I have attached a couple of screen shots. Regards John
  5. Thank you folks, I'll have a look at that later today. That man Igor thinks of everything! John
  6. Hi, Is there any way of fading in/out the audio of a video clip within PTE. Do I have to in some way strip out the audio with some other software and apply fade directly to the resultant audio file? I am presently working in 7.5 Beta 10 so perhaps it is something that has not yet been implemented. John
  7. Hi Tom, I guess you are trying to move your .pte (working) file rather than your completed (.exe) file. If this is so then I think one solution may be to from your original drive "create a back-up in Zip" file (see File/Create Backup in Zip [Alt+B]) and move that to your second drive. Then when you open the Zip file save it to your chosen folder on that second drive. I think that should work. Give it a try. John
  8. Lin, Thank you. Invisible! ]Why didn't I think of that? .............. Don't answer that or we could fall out! Peter, Sounds plausible, But who am I to argue? Don't you answer that either. The icon with the red bars is the Parallels Desktop icon. Once you graduate to MAC you will know all about it!! The rest is academic for the moment as Lin has enlightened me to a procedure that will solve this issue on this occasion. Thank you both, John
  9. Hi, Can anybody enlighten me to an interesting discovery I have made while playing around with PTE on a MacBookPro using Parallels. A little bit of background. I am trying to create a manually controlled slideshow that will enable me to, at any unknown in advance point, leave the show and go to the desktop to activate some other media i.e. MP4, Powerpoint etc and then return to PTE at the point I left. I can't find any way of doing this by "Publishing a Show", however, if I invoke "Preview" I get the usual window which I can size to almost fill the screen but also an icon like a PTE.exe icon in the Dock which when clicked returns me to the point I was at when I minimised the "Preview" with the orange button. Also the main PTE Interface is removed from the desktop. The end result is "relatively" slick and workable but by no means ideal. I was not able to capture the label associated with the above icon but it reads "PteViewer.exe". I have not noticed this anywhere else before. Any ideas? John
  10. Rain!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hi Tom, Thanks for that. I have sent you a PM which I would ask you to read. John
  12. Tom Thasnks very much for taking the time to get involved. I'm only at home for a short time so have no time till tomorrow to study your suggestions. If you do manage to put a demo/tutorial together I for one would be delighted. Thanks again to you all, John PS Peter, the weather is still sunny and dry here if perhaps chilly for August!
  13. Good morning and thanks for your replies. I am about to go out for most of the day as The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is still on and as it is a bright sunny day here Peter I'm off to get some pictures and attend a few events so I am unlikely to get back to you for 24 hours. Essentially I have been creating Mac Versions and trying to use them as my menu items and then saving the menu as a Mac sequence but with no success. As you say perhaps Tom will see this and add his views. I will perhaps tonight get the chance to clear the decks and try afresh and report back tomorrow. Thank again, John
  14. Hi, Has anybody tried to create a PTE menu show for running on a Mac? I have no problem using a menu on a PC but am failing miserably to get it to work on a Mac. Clearly I can create shows individually that will work beautifully on the Mac but the menu option beats me! Anybody had any success? John P.S. Using Lion on a PBP and Mountain Lion on an iMac, both with Parallels.
  15. Hi, Thanks very much for that. My stupidity never ceases to surprises me! John
  16. Hi, I am using Video Builder to make a "DVDVideo Disc – for players connected to a TV". I use this facilityquite regularly and have not, till now, had any issues. My problem is as follows. I have builta trial DVD with a menu of 10 ".pte" sequences. On completingviewing any of these sequences on TV or PC the following sequencestarts without reverting to the menu. At this trial stage I amworking with very short 2 slide sequences built for my trial. Anybody got any ideas as to what I amdoing wrong? I am using PTE 7 for this. John
  17. Agreed, Signed, sealed and delivered. John

  20. But will he have what I want in his sack? John
  21. Dave, I believe so.... .................and I think he lives in Russia!! John
  22. Igor, If it is not too late PLEASE PLEASE consider within O&A enabling AUTOMATIC selection of the text entry box in the Properties Tab whenever the Text Icon is selected. I for one use this extensively and it drives me mad when I foget to take the EXTRA steps of going to the Properties Tab and clicking into the box. Thanks John
  23. Steven, What precisely do you mean by "....they do not look right on my LCD TV" ? John

    Question

Hi Igor, Just opened a couple of .pte and .exe files in Mountain Lion with Parallels 7 without any problem. Also created a Mac show on the Windows side and opened it in the Mac side again no problem. John
  25. Hi Lin, This is another one of those occasions where I feel a total idiot. I thought I had looked everywhere. Thanks, This program gets better and better! Regards John
