  1. O&A> Properties> Mute Audio for the one you want silent. DG
  2. Frans, Download and extract the Template Folder here: White Mask.zip DG
  3. What about a White PNG Rectangle with a cutout inside the mask above (but linked to) the image. The size of the cutout could be manipulated to the desired frame size? DG
  4. Ken, Resolution and Aspect Ratio are ESSENTIALS. Running time is important. File size is evident when initiating the download. Number of slides is irrelevant but nice to know. DG
  5. Resolution of Image(s) in the 48 second slide? Resolution and AR of project? Is there a music file attached to this slide? DG
  6. O&A - Size of Parent etc - Click on SIZE Use arrows to move image to left or right. Duplicate Keyframe. Use arrows to move image to left or right. Click on play. Why 1204x768? That's an odd Project Size? DG
  7. Ray, I seem to remember coming across this setting a while ago on my Sony HD TV. Glad that you have solved it!! DG
  8. KFSD: There was a HUGE thread on KEEP FULL SLIDE DURATION. Before it was half way through the abreviation KFSD was adopted by most. I apologise for not using the full phrase - I thought that it was a universally accepted abreviation amongst those who are regulars. DG
  9. Attached are a Template of my settings for a 1920x1080 Project for HD TV and the corresponding MPEG4 made from it. The MPEG is a perfect fit on my HD TV with the BWB line showing all around. DG 1920x1080 TV TEST PT.zip 1920x1080 TV TEST MP4.zip
  10. ray couple of ways of applying stroke line.in ps make sure stroke line is inside.in pte as a global png frame. as above.if pc monitor is hd then you should see same symptoms there. is pc monitor 16:10?please give a little more detail or pm me template in zip folder without images.if your pte setup is right have you altered your tv geometry at any time?dg
  11. Gary, There was similar problem when KFSD was introduced and Igor was unable to set a zero parameter - it could be that it has to be a POSITIVE value. He got around the KFSD problem another way. In any case, if you press the CROSSFADING button (properly working) surely your logical intention is to set a positive value. Why then, does making its default zero help? DG
  12. Could I make a suggestion? I think that the problem, as Gary says, is with the CROSSFADING Button and not with the Project Options>Audio Clip Properties. Furthermore I think that It could be either a bug or a fundamental logic problem. When CROSSFADING is clicked then BOTH MP3 files are selected (if there are 3 MP3 files 3 are selected) and there is no way to remove the first MP3 from the process. I suggest that Igor be advised of this and await his thoughts - mine are that the CROSSFADING button needs another look. It should not set a FADE IN on the first MP3 - even though it can be removed manually afterwards. DG
  13. Geoff, I made a 1920x1080 template for this and will PM it to you later if you want? My main concern has always been that there should absolutely NO modification of the submitted images of any kind. DEFINITELY no interpolation! All images in sRGB up to 1920x1080. Basically, I have an index at the front end with links to every Image in the Comp (default number is 60). Links to Image 01, Image 02 etc up to 60. That way it's the same for every comp. When the mouse is brought into play on any image I click on the HOME icon to go to the Index. I then click on the link to the Image he wants. When he has seen that - HOME icon - next Image number link. During the Comp the right arrow takes you through each image passing through a black blank slide - no third images. It works smoothly, quickly and efficiently (when I'm on the mouse). On your other point the avoidance of shimmering is helped enormously by selectively sharpening. Like you, uncompressed RAW only - 25Mb/12Mp files. Remove in camera sharpening - apply a mixture of HP and USM SELECTIVELY to suit the image. Rarely are two images the same so batching is out. Skies and foliage are NEVER sharpened. DG
  14. Karl, What Picture Control are you using in-camera and what level of sharpening is set within that Picture Control? VNX reads the in-camera sharpening and will pass it on to the JPEG. If it is set to high it might have an effect. If you don't want the in-camera sharpening applied to the JPEG you have to select the PC in VNX2 and zero it. IMHO sharpening should be applied selectively and not globally. DG
  15. Geoff, I do all of my sharpening selectively (very important), in my RAW converter of choice using presets which suit the intended application. Applying the same sharpening settings before and after re-sizing will produce different results so, contrary to what I have always been told that I should do, I sharpen before re-sizing using settings which produce an acceptable result after re-sizing has taken place. Mostly, my JPEGs are used in PTE firstly in PTE shows and secondly for Competitions. I don't know of anyone who is NOT using PTE for Competition in our locality so if it works in PTE on my 1920x1200 screen it will work when projected at 1920x1080 in a competition. DG
  16. You know, I think that we all owe an apology to JEB? In his excellent FAQ/Tutorial on Audio in V6.5 ( ) he covers the whole topic adequately. Is the FAQ / Tutorials section needed? I don't see many people suggesting that it be used in response to a question. (Ken does). I propose that a standard question be introduced: "Does the information in Tutorial XYZ not cover your query?" DG
  17. i think that the logical answer here is that the crossfade controls should be "grayed out" until two mp3s are selected? dg
  18. Did Peter misunderstand your original assertion - I think that I did at one stage. Retiring now - back am. DG
  19. I don't know what to say peter. I added one MP3 to a project; looked at the wave form (and listened); there was quite a loud first couple of seconds; I applied a 10 second crossfade in CUSTOMIZE; I updated the waveform in CUSTOMIZE and it showed no difference. I then clicked OK and the Waveform opened up under the Slide List with a 10 second fade in and the loud first couple of seconds had turned into a fade in. I went back into Customize and removed the Crossfade time and the MP3 was restored to original. With just one MP3 it treats it as the SECOND MP3 if Crossfading is applied. Try it? DG
  20. P.S. Regarding the application of Crossfade to the first MP3. It DOES fade the MP3 in, which is both logical and illogical at the same time. It is logical if you consider that you might move the MP3 around or change the order of tracks. However it is illogical that you should be able to apply crossfade to a track with no previous track? DG
  21. Yes. There are numerous changes which could be made to improve what we have but I don't necessarily think that turning it into an "Audacity Plug-in for PTE" is the answer. I have worked with it exclusively for a while and cannot fault it - but, as you say, we probably work in different ways. I like working with numbers and pre-visualising an effect rather than dragging things around and seeing what happens. DG
  22. Peter, Click on the CROSSFADING BUTTON. DG
  23. That's why I sent the sides and the suggestion that my photoframe model could be used? DG
  24. I don't necessarily agree with that. Altering the values in the "Audio Clip Properties" does that for you more precisely. I see what you mean and yes, I agree. DG
  25. I'm not sure that I'm understanding this discussion. Crossfade applies to the section between two pieces - it doesn't have an affect on the beginning of the first MP3? Unless the crossfade time is greater than or equal to the track time and a fade in value is set. DG
