MESSAGE TO IGOR: To make this work to everyone's satisfaction we need to be able to see MULTIPLE "Audio Clip Properties" and MULTIPLE Waveforms at the SAME TIME. DG
-
Crossfading applies to two pieces of music in the same track. Insert two pieces of music in the same track and adjust the crossfade. Watch how the overall time decreases in step with the amount of crossfade. You still need to apply Fade in to music 2 and fade out to music 1. This does not influence the overall time for the track. If fade in and fade out are not required ignore this. It's just like Audition/Audacity - but MUCH easier. I prefer to use two tracks and apply offset. That's why you can't have Crossfade and Offset at the same time - using both is meaningless. The Offset control does the job of the Crossfade control when using two or more tracks. It's just like Audition/Audacity - but MUCH easier. DG

does clicking on size in size of parent etc do what you want? dg

Peter, It's just a cube? I haven't tried anything but my first thought is that you could make a rectangle fit the end facing the viewer and build the (elongated) cube around that. Just use the second image and replace the original seat with your own? You would not even need all of the faces (4 I think). Make them all transparent via opacity apart from the seat and attach its inside face to hinge around the back side. The "seat" needs to be a rectangle with a hole cut out of it (or a masked hole) with a wooden texture - it doesn't have to be stretched - PTE will do the perspective bit. Something like the picture frame I did? One other thing - clone the wall from the first image to the second image. DG

Perhaps if we ask IGOR nicely he will give us one of his future plans posts with an approximate timeline? DG

It might be worth trying to resize your images before making the DVD. NTSC or PAL? Aspect Ratio? My other suggestion is usually to make an ISO out of Video Builder instead of writing directly to the DVD. Use your own writer to write the ISO. As Peter indicated, you could try making a HD MPEG4 File instead of the DVD (for test purposes). You might have problems with your DVD reader / writer. Peter and I both use 1920x1080 H.264 MPEG4 files played on our TV's Media Player from a Flash Drive and have experienced no problems. Unless you are doing a lot of zooming in and out you don't need those high res images. I resize from 4288x2848 down to 1920x1080 or 1620x1080 - except when zoom is required. DG

PTE works with sRGB images. DG

daniel if my memory serves me well i think that if you choose a preset and then choose custom you are presented with the parameters for the previously chosen preset.does that help?dg

NIK CEFX3 has now been updated to 64 Bit making an Adobe free 64 Bit environment even more realistic. DG

If the application allowed for it there is also "Loop This Slide" but Peter's suggestion is probably the best over a short period of time. DG

Mine also (V7.0.3). Or (if Ken is also using 7.0.3) is this because of the FAT32 drive??? DG
-
Thanks Peter, I agree that you should stick with what suits you. The information would possibly be of use to myself and others. DG

You can TEMPORARILY make your slide list look like the F3 View by dragging the bar between the File List and the Mini Player to the right. On a large monitor you can see around 100 or so files and the Used and Non-Used files are easily distinguishable. Using the method described by Peter is then a piece of cake. DG

Agreed, your present setup is much more versatile. However, for the person who wants to do just voice comments (without the birds and rivers and waves crashing on the shore etc) there are other options which mean that direct to PC is possible without the horrendous background noises which accompany the mic plugged into sound card approach. For instance I could plug a mic into the 16 track and go to the PC via the Optical/USB interface and into PTE in real time. One more question: Does the signal into your Zoom recorder go straight through either when recording or not recording? What I'm thinking is that the A/D converter in the Zoom would allow the recording of voice comments direct through the USB input without the need for Audacity/Audition (all other things being equal!!). I hope I'm explaining it well? DG

peter a question i use an optical/usb converter (edirol) to input from my 16 track recorder to my computer. there are those who input directly into their computers from guitar, mic etc i have never done it that way (direct input) but i am pretty sure that the converters exist. there are also usb mics with converters built in. have you ever tried any of them? dg

Well Ken, I was in my local PC shop yesterday and they now offer a service where they will take over your PC remotely and fix it for you while you sit and watch. Perhaps Lin might benefit from that kind of service from one of us? Perhaps not. I can only repeat what I said in Post #14. DG

Ken, I should have said (although it should have been obvious) that I was talking about NEW projects? Best wishes, DG

Attention to detail scores points is what I am preachin'. I'm in awe of some of the things being done but where I see room for improvement I see it as my duty to help out wherever I can. DG

Great material for a tutorial! DG

Technically, this project is showing some excellent uses of the PTE facilities. However, (and this is REALLY picky), Lin's blinds appear to be inside looking out and therefore the overlap is the wrong (?) way. But when they open the "pelmet" suggests two inside rooms. Small details? DG

Too late! I had put your typing error down to "too much" Chardonnay/Chardoney/Chardeney? DG

If igor can re-instate this feature then why not? Could I respectfully suggest though, that the time spent sorting outside of pte could be diverted to sorting in the full screen view of the slide list within PTE? If, after sorting outside of PTE, you change you mind - what then? DG
