If you click on Project Options > Music Tab and then on Cusomize and the Waveform Icon you should see something like this - correct? DG
-
Did you add the MP3 via the Project Options>Music Tab? DG

The upright bar between the Mini-Player and the File list is movable. Click and drag to the right until the Waveform Icon appears. DG

Hi Peter, I'm not sure if it would help you or even prove anything that we don't already know, but: If you want to upload a "problem" file and send me a link I'll see what MSE thinks of it? DG

BEST METHOD FOR RECORDING COMMENTARY TO GO WITH SLIDESHOW
davegee replied to colin hill's topic in General Discussion
What about a used High End Portable Mini Disc Recorder? You should be able to pick one up for a couple of Rand and get a good Stereo Mike to go with it. They have optical output and optical to USB adaptors should be easy enough to find. I've been using an Edirol Optical to USB for years to interface my 16 track studio to my computer. DG -
Jeb, The Mini Player is the same - it does not show the decimal parts of a second and does not round up. In all honesty, for what it does, it is simpler to use than Audition, which I've used for many years. However, there's a lot that could added to make it better. DG

What about your Offset? The offset is in addition to the sum of the Track Times. Reset that and see what happens? DG

When you add two pieces of music to a track they are played concurrently (one after the other). If you apply a CROSSFADE then portions of both tracks are played simoultaneously reducing the overall time of the track. Does that help? It's a bit like the "Keep Full Slide Duration" situation where you have the same transition in two slides. If you watch the overall time for a track while making an adjustment in the Audio Clip Properties you'll see the effect of your adjustment in real time. DG

Purely in the spirit of adding to knowledge and in no way criticising: There is an piece in this month's NIKON OWNER by Simon Stafford where he re-inforces the Nikon View that D Lighting is mainly for JPEG and TIFF files. Applying D-Lighting techniques to RAW files is best done in NX2 where the degree of control is far better. D Lighting on RAW images in camera applies an exposure compensation which is not properly reversible in NX2. I have no way of knowing which was the case here. DG

Peter, I just got fed up with the whole scenario and did it! AVG uninstalled without any help from the link I gave you. MSE went in smoothly but took a while. Don't think that it has stopped - it takes time. After the re-boot I thought that it was doing nothing but it was downloading updates. Tried it on the "Suspect File" and it appears no longer to be suspect. I have set it up for a daily scan and update. DG

Peter, Just to add to the confusion, I had already tried that and opening the Provence EXE from within the ZIP folder triggers an AVG alert every time. DG
-
Ken, Do those folders contain EXE files? DG
-
Gerard, I was in Cochem many years ago and, at this time of the year, the light there would be amazing. I'm envious. DG
-
Ken, I downloaded the "Wally Trek" show this morning because the author specified the Version as being V5.6. It did not bring up any alerts from AVG. I have also sent a PM to the author of Postacrds from Provence asking for details of his Version. Apologies to him - he DID provide details - it was 6.5! Either this problem is version specific or it's a genuine Trojan Horse (not a false positive) but if it were a genuine TH why aren't the other AV softwares not picking it up? Postcards is still alerting on my machine. DG

You can join two or more shows by: Open Show two and select and copy all slides. Don't close PTE but open Show number 1 and Paste. Save as "new number 1". Open Show three and select and copy all slides. Don't close PTE but open Show "New number 1" and Paste. etc Should work. Alternatively create a Menu and link to each show (same version for all) and follow Xaver's suggestion. DG

I saw it as two seperate problems. DG

Peter, You are right about threads veering away from subject, but I truly believed (STILL DO) that my post here: was relevant to the OP's OP. I was trying to explain that in the event of a virus alert it is not necessary to revert to factory settings. DG
-
I see a number of posts saying that AVG is "consigning most of my PTE.exe files to oblivion!" or similar. Maybe I have my AVG set up differently to others but it never does anything without my permission. Therefore if it detects a threat from a PTE EXE I just stop the process and don't try to open the offending file until the problem is resolved. No lost files - no files in the virus vault etc. DG

To add to Xaver - you can also create custom Templates of Speed Options in the same place. DG
-
Xaver, I have been working on something involving Speed Options and in line with what you have highlighted I tried a test. My fourth slide in a series was showing a start time of 06.00 and finish time of 11.500 with 6 keyframes in between. I deleted the first three slides leaving just the original fourth slide. The keyframes in O&A adjusted to their new values of zero and 05.50 (with six keyframes between) but the "keyframes" in Speed Options" maintained their values of 06.00 and 11.50 (with six keyframes between).
