  1. Go to a page which has such a video embedded and then, in the Menu, click on VIEW / PAGE SOURCE. That will display the HTML code and give you a clue how to do it? DG
  2. OK, The JPEG shows the O&A Objects pane for the way I did it. The Mask PNG is made in PS (not in PTE). The Stroke PNG is made INSIDE the inverted mask (again in PS). The shadow was made from from the Mask PNG and added to the Frame and sent to the back. Animating the Frame moves everything attached to it in the same direction. This way is probably not very far removed from the way that you originally did it except that a Mask has been used? Now stand by for various different (better) ways of doing it. DG
  3. To answer the OP's original question: Is this what you had in mind? DG Mask.zip
  4. Thanks Barry, but the accolade for that trick belongs to JEB. I merely expanded on it. DG
  5. At what point is "nothing happening"? Are you able to "Browse" to the PNG file. You need to tick the box in front of "Show Copyright Logo". You will not see the PNG line in O&A - it only appears in preview or in the EXE. DG
  6. In Windows Explorer (on the old machine) search the computer for reg.txt That should find it. DG
  7. Go to Project Options/Advanced and click on "Show Copyright Logo". Load your pre-prepared PNG image which consists of a white line over a transparent background. Use a PNG which is the same size as your Project Screen Size. You can also put a line around an image in O&A, "Properties" Tab - "Adjust Image and Border". However, using the last method is not suitable for images with PZR effects. DG
  8. I have now had a chance to assess for myself the USB facility on my new Sony HDTV for playing MPEG4 videos from a 1Gb USB memory key. The first trial that I made (on my XP Desktop machine) played the music track but showed a black screen. The second trial (made on my Vista laptop) showed the picture and sound. I deduced from this that my desktop does not have compliant video codecs - any advice on this welcomed. (MPEG4 plays OK in MPC on desktop but not on TV). Having got the laptop MPEG4 working it was obvious that my original 3:2 show was being stretched to fit the 16:9 screen and I can find no way of playing a non-16:9 format MPEG4 and preserve its aspect ratio. The options are Wide and Smart and neither is acceptable. I got around this by superimposing the 3:2 images on a 16:9 show. This resulted in a perfectly acceptable 3:2 show on my 16:9 screen with the obvious black bars on left and right sides. The down side of this is that the file size of my MPEG4 was appreciably bigger than the 3:2 version. The moral - stick with 16:9 and accept the file size. I am left with one "problem" - the white line "stroke" around the 3:2 format show disappears at the top and bottom of the screen image. More work to do on that - however if a 16:9 show is made with 16:9 images the white line is unnecessary and is not a problem. I can't comment on the relative quality aspects of the MPEG4 vs the Laptop/HDMI generated EXE at the moment - I have yet to try it. I will say though, that the convenience of the USB input vs the laptop with all its wires etc is, I think, going to outweigh any quality differences between the two methods (if any exist). Oh, by the way, it also shows TV programmes pretty good - HD programmes are superb. DG
  9. Canico, When you click on the link in #43 it will give a "Download or Open" box in which you choose to DOWNLOAD. When you get it on your computer, unzip the file and double-click on the executable to install. If your existing 5.5 is a fully working version i.e. registered, the new version will recognise this and install without asking for a reg key. You are installing on the same machine as the machine with 5.5 on? I am guessing that you have never upgraded to VIDEOBUILDER so that part of the 6.5 version will not work but the basic version will.
  10. Barry, The reason it is a work-around (and a good one for this purpose) is that you could only use it ONCE. If you wanted to paste multiple objects to multiple slides it would not be possible using this method. DG
  11. It's called "thinking outside of the box" - well done - good solution. However, it is a work-around and the ability to copy and paste to ALL SLIDES would, no doubt, be useful for other purposes than just adding a border. DG
  12. It might be worth seeing if the same thing happens to other locations other than desktop. i.e. create a folder on your DATA drive and put everything needed for the demo show in that folder. Then try to save the pte and exe files there. Then try to overwrite the exe at that location. It might produce the same results or maybe................ DG
  13. Geoff, Displaying a PTE show on a different (higher or lower resolution) monitor is not the same thing as Zooming in or out. If the font size is FIXED then it would be the same size whatever the monitor. Font size 10 looks smaller on a 1920x1080 monitor than it does on a 1024x768. What I am "thinking" is that wheras an image can be made to "fit to screen" in PTE, if the font size is FIXED it is FIXED. Having the TEXT box sizeable with respect to the other objects in a slide means that it will maintain its size relative to all other objects when viewed on a different monitor. DG
  14. Hi Geoff, I have the same setup as you on my desktop machine, i.e. V6.5.2, XP and SP3 and I don't get the problem/symptoms that you are seeing. It does not happen on my Vista laptop either. Based on that it is possibly a problem with your setup and not with PTE? DG
  15. Geoff, I wonder how the Font Size as you percieve it would react to your show being viewed on a monitor which is of a different size to the monitor it was created on? The way it is at the moment the font size relative to the other objects in the slide can be kept constant. If the font is kept at a fixed size as in Word etc then when the show is viewed on a different (higher or lower resolution) monitor the relationship would be destroyed? DG
  16. Are all of the MP3 introduced via Options / Music? Are they all in the same track or different tracks? DG
  17. This is probably already in the pipeline but just in case............ When designing in the BLUR feature promised for V7 it would be fantastic if it could be used in conjunction with MASKS so that selective Blurring can be achieved within PTE. I have already thought of some applications so I'm eagerly awaiting V7 Beta 1 to try them out. DG
  18. You would only need to pay again if you need to renew a VIDEOBUILDER license. Your basic PTE license is for life. The AUDIO facilities in V6.5.2 are for basic editing of MP3 tracks and allows you to adjust Start Time, Duration Fade In, Fade Out etc for individual tracks in a mix as well as control the overall volume. For most the facilities are adequate, but it is obviously not as versatile as Audacity, Audition, Soundbooth etc. Since it will cost you absolutely nothing to upgrade to V6.5.2 you might as well go ahead and try out these facilities for yourself. Much has been written about the Audio Facilities and a quick search will reveal much more. This thread might be of help: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12212&st=0&p=78558&hl=audio&fromsearch=1entry78558 DG
  19. Den, When you use 1280x800 is the HD TV Screen being filled (upscaling) or is there a black line all around? DG
  20. Create a PNG shadow in PS and give it the same KF's as the main PNG but add extra KF's to accommodate the fade in? DG
  21. Thanks for the update, Peter. Exciting times ahead for all! The Blur feature promises to be great tool for all who use PZR creatively and the Timeline changes are a positive step toward an integrated Audio Editing package. DG
  22. To add just one proviso to Barry's suggestion: Make sure that, in the slide you are pasting to, nothing is highlighted. If you don't the PNG etc will be pasted as a " child" of the highlighted object. DG
  23. Sometimes the obvious has to be stated and it might prompt others who haven't yet had their computer crash to do something about it - NOW! Anyway, my last line is, in essence, agreeing with what you say: "Wnsoft could probably be more attentive when it comes to answering queries of any sort, but when it comes to registration information you are master of your own fate!" DG
  24. Sorry to disagree here, but I think that we are laying the blame for this "problem" on the wrong person's doorstep. It has been said here regularly and recently - assign the latest version of the software and your registration information to a CD and you are safe. Don't rely on any software manufacturer to bail you out if your computer crashes even though it is no fault of yours. Wnsoft could probably be more attentive when it comes to answering queries of any sort, but when it comes to registration information you are master of your own fate! DG
  25. So, the "composite" audio file is only created for the DVD version and not for the executable? Igor also said this: "We'll mix music files in realtime without re-encoding. Probably we will add "Export tracks to MP3" option to mix all tracks into one audio file. You will able choose both ways". DG
