  1. I asked a question about this during the run up to 6.5 and Igor said that the multiple tracks etc would be saved to a composite track of the correct duration etc when the project was saved as an EXE. In other words, what you think is happening shouldn't happen unless Igor was forced to change his mind? DG
  2. For trouble free - 100% success rate ripping from CDs can I suggest Sony Sonic Stage - it's a free download and I have been using it for many years. Absolutely no problems. DG
  3. I'll second that Gary. Not exactly the same thing but............... A couple of years ago I did a show which was around six minutes long using a fairly upbeat piece of music and every slide was synch'ed to the first beat of of every bar of music. (None of your dreamy stuff here!). At the time I saw a need for selectively dividing the time interval of a slide (in O&A) into 3, 4, 6 or 8 equal portions so that while the bar of music played images/objects could be accurately dropped in "on the beat" in O&A. Calculating the length of time for each bar of music is easy peasy and can be set as the Time Interval in Project Options. Having the sub divisions for each slide would allow for the accuracy of the beats. I made a suggestion along those lines but obviously no one else, at that time, saw the need and it got a very cool response. I hope your suggestion does better than mine! DG
  4. Ray, The benefit of your obvious expertise can only be a good thing for all! So, from my point of view, a big YES. Thanks, DG
  5. Jan, If your images are 1920x1200 and your new show is 1920x1080 you will have to set every slide to "Cover Slide" instead of "Fit to Slide" In O&A - COMMON - MODE. You will now lose a little at the top and bottom of each image. DG
  6. Hi Peter, I think that we differ in the way we look at transitions. Slide one transition is at the beginning of slide one. Slide two transition is at the beginning of slide two. The grey portion at the end of the timeline is, to me, the in-bound transition associated with slide two. Therefore to my way of thinking slide one's "end of slide" is the beginning of slide two's in-bound transition. If each of my slides is set to 6 seconds duration with a 1500ms transition then the "end of slide" is at 6 seconds - not 7.5 seconds. So when I place a keyframe at the "end of slide" where there is no following slide the keyframes position should be anchored to the 6 second "end of slide". When another slide is added what is actually happening is that the "end of slide" keyframe is being thrown forward to the "end of incoming transition" position - not what I had intended. I can live with it but it doesn't seem right and I think that eventually someone else is going to get caught out. The effect it gives is that the PZR which was intended to end at 6 seconds carries on into the next transition - messy. DG
  7. Hi Peter, I'm not sure that we are talking in the same terminology? After adding a new slide the previously inserted "end of slide" keypoint(s) jump(s) to the end of the in-bound transition - from 6000ms to 7600ms - that's "end of in-bound transition" and not "end of slide". Does that change your perception of what I'm getting? I doesn't seem right, although if I change my way of working to always have a "last slide" beyond the one I'm working on I'll be OK. The other point is that if, as you know is possible, there are a multitude of "end of slide" keyframes it's a lot of work to "repair". "End of slide" is " end of slide" and not "end of in-bound transition" even if they are, in that unique situation, at the same point. DG
  8. Here's the scenario: I'm working on the current last slide in my sequence (V6.5). Slide time 6 seconds, transition time 1.5 seconds. I add a keyframe and place it at 6000ms and adjust my PZR. (At this 6000ms point there is no incoming transition). I then exit O&A and add another slide. Going back into O&A and moving to the now penultimate slide the keyframe which I placed at 6000ms has jumped to 7500ms (the end of the incoming transition). If I correct the placement of the last keyframe of the penultimate slide and then delete the last slide obviously the last keyframe stays at 6000ms. Adding another new slide will not reproduce the problem described above i.e. it stays at 6000ms (the start of the incoming transition). I can't make up my mind whether it should do this or not? DG
  9. Andre, THREE different AR Images have been used to show how each will look on any of FOUR different Monitor Aspect Ratios. It is NOT one single image. I used 1080 high Images in each of the 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9 ARs which is why there is a black border all around in the 16:10 (1920x1200) Monitor examples. For completeness I should have included a 16:10 image BUT this was done a long time ago and has been posted here once before. My preference (at the moment) is for 16:9 and I put up with 16:9 images on my 16:10 (1920x1200) monitor. My next monitor will be 1920x1080 BUT I don't anticipate changing it for some time. DG
  10. Ron, It helps if you get the res figures correct? 4992 divided by 3328 = 1.5 = 3/2 = 3:2 DG This might help:
  11. There's also this: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/iomega-screenplay-director-hd-multimedia-hard-drive-1tb-04136958-pdt.html 1TB HDD in a MM package. "With input and output connections for a multitude of audiovisual devices too, the Iomega 1TB ScreenPlay Director HD Multimedia Hard Drive guarantees you total immersion in your media. You'll be able to store music and video files onto its generous 1-terabyte hard disk drive, plus it offers Full High Definition 1080p playback at 24 fps. How about rigging up your television via HDMI, composite, component, or SCART for a more mesmerising media experience? As for sound, that's dealt with via its high quality digital optical audio connector. You've also got the option to transfer videos and photos from your computer to your drive over your home network via Ethernet, or directly via USB 2.0. Its versatility doesn't stop there. The Iomega ScreenPlay Director HD Multimedia Hard Drive supports a gigantic array of file formats including MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI and VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI, DivX, XviD), H.264, AVCHD, and VC-1 for video; mp3, AC3 (Dolby Digital Encoding), WAV, OGG, WMA, AAC and FLAC for audio; and JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG and TIFF for still images."
  12. Andrew, I get the joke - but there are "PC" laptops and MAC Laptops (and that can also be taken both ways!!). Seriously, I have found that PTE can be used much more creatively for presentations than PP. DG
  13. Sacrilege!! How dare you!! Using Powerpoint to demonstrate the finer points of PTE is decidedly non-PC. Take the plunge and use PTE - your audience would appreciate it. There is NOTHING that you can do in Powerpoint that you can't do (better) in PTE. DG
  14. Peter, Neither can I. The screen grabs make more sense of what the problem is. I think that, under the same circumstances, I would delete current track and load up an mp3 from a different source. Dodgy wma? DG
  15. Ralph, "Normally I do not send comments on slide shows presented in this forum. In most cases................giving comments that are not all favorable often causes trouble". Been there done that!! (good or bad please, I can take it ) Not everybody can!! It seems that the right thing to say when asking for comments is: Comments requested - GOOD or BAD! OR Comments requested - but only GOOD ones! DG
  16. Peter, (Thinking out loud). When you click on ADD MUSIC in music tab it has to ADD a TRACK before adding music to it but this step is not seen until the music is added. Normally, you can add a track and then add music to it OR add music and the track is added in't' background. Seems to me that the problem, in this case, is the "Add a Track" step. Perhaps Igor can come up with something? DG
  17. If it hangs when he selects "add track" it has nothing to do with file type? DG
  18. V6.5.1???????????????????? DG
  19. In V6.5 hit the CREATE button (bottom left) and choose 3rd option from top. DG
  20. Hi Ralph, Could you edit in the resolution figures for the show? DG
  21. Steve, The size of PTE EXE files (and/or AVI files) usually prohibit sending as e-mail attachments. If small enough to get past your e-mail restrictions then they would have to be ZIPPED. People here would normally use "MediaFire" or "You Send It" etc. I prefer the latter. DG
  22. I have just returned from two weeks away from the forum and saw this thread. My condolences and thoughts are with you at this time. DaveG
  23. What are their respective pixel dimensions? DG P.S. Peter beat me to it.
  24. Plausible Peter, I didn't even notice that the space was missing. 'Twould also have worked if the Betas had been called Beta01, Beta02 etc. I am about to delete Betas 1 to 9 anyway, so if there is a further Beta we'll see what happens. Thanks, DG
  25. Gary, Try altering the width of the file list by dragging the bar between file list and mini-viewer until you can see all of the icons? DG
