Solution of the problem with laptops with NVIDIA graphics and Windows 10
davegee replied to Igor's topic in Troubleshooting
Igor, Please see your PM. The point to note about my HP Laptop is that a few weeks ago the NVIDIA GPU did not exist - the whole Windows 1803 saga started off as noticeable bad performance but I could "see" the NVIDIA card but, apparently, could only use the Intel GPU no matter what I tried. Then, at a later date, I could only find the Intel Card - the NVIDIA card "disappeared". Now, without any input from me, the NVIDIA card can "seen". As I said in the other post, testing continues, but it does look like the previous performance has not returned and that problems still exist. Sorry if I raised anyone's hopes but the fact that I can now SEE the NVIDIA card made me think that it had returned to normal. Perhaps not!! -
Solution of the problem with laptops with NVIDIA graphics and Windows 10
davegee replied to Igor's topic in Troubleshooting
Igor, I will check BUT any update would have come from HP, the makers of the Laptop. I believe that the drivers are "modified" by HP in some way and that the NVidia Drivers do not apply. When it is working correctly, as it is now, it is a "high end" gaming Laptop, but if I ever update it I will not buy another HP Laptop. I would probably get one from Chillblast who supplied my Desktop PC. DG -
Nothing final about this, but....... In the nVidia Control Panel there is an option to show "nVidia GPU Activity". This adds an Icon on the Task Bar (Notifications). When I open the "nVidia GPU Activity" it shows that Photoshop, PTE 9 and Chrome are all using the nVidia Card. I have set the option Preferred Graphics Processor = High Performance NVIDIA Processor..... ....and added PS CC, PTE and others to the list of apps which should default to NVIDIA. The reason that I went looking for this is that I noticed, today, an improvement in the performance of the Laptop. I cannot say when it returned to "normal" because I have not been using the Laptop much since the problem arrived. Welcome back NVIDIA!! DG

After a recent Windows Update (?) my Laptop with nVidia Graphics Card and Integrated Intel "APPEARS" to back to normal. At one stage the Laptop refused to acknowledge that the nVidia Card existed. I can now access the nVidia Control Panel and performance seems to be back to normal. Testing continues. DG Windows 10 Home 1809 (18/2/19)

File list, used file name in bold characters
davegee replied to ppenen's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
You can do this automatically by creating a Template when your project is finished. All USED objects are saved to a folder specified by you in Manage Templates. The completed project can then be instantly opened at any time (without the unused objects) from the File/ Templates Menu. DG -
You might also try some blur at the end of the fade out and start of the fade in. DG

Two Fade Transitions: Advanced Fade will Fade through whatever colour is set for background of the two slides: Advanced Fade .pteeff Fade Through White will fade through white regardless of the BG colour for the two slides. Fade Through White.pteeff DG
-
Create a new Fade CT and add a White Rectangle below Slide 1 and Slide 2. You cannot edit the existing Fade Transition DG
-
Just a suggestion. Why not just create a Template and save it under File/Templates. You could add other refinements/adjustments and then Load it with one click.I I think that you might find that there are many more people using 16:10 than are likely to want 3:1 ☺ DG

Slide Styles for transitions by threshold effect.
davegee replied to Jean-Cyprien's topic in Styles & Templates
Masterful use of Threshold J-C. We are finding new techniques almost daily and it all adds to what is probably one of the best slide show softwares available. DG -
As an intro to a slideshow to set the scene.......

Thanks Dave, I have allowed the video to Fit To Slide in this instance so, obviously, there is some up-scaling taking place degrading the image somewhat. It would be nice if you could give us a 1920x1080 output?? DG

A Silhouette Transition. The Silhouette moves across the slide with Slide 1 in front and Slide 2 behind. Two directions. Silhouette.pteeff DG

This is the whole compliment of Fonts and Effects in one Vid:

Dave confirmed, in his email, that these are genuine: https://choiceslides.com/collections/captions-alive-pro-fontse.g. I have not tried them yet. DG

See my screenshot above. I renamed Button 1 to "To to Jeb" in the "Name" box and it is reflected in the Object Panel. I would agree that it would be more logical if the Button text dictated the Object name.

Dave Fitzpatrick contacted me today for feedback on the software package. I told him about the current interest here and suggested that he take a look. One of the things I mentioned was the need for more fonts. He suggested that he might add further output options. Let's hope that he decides to call in and gather more suggestions. DG

Attach one of the jpegs here and someone will try it on their system. DG -
I thought about this sort of application which could be developed with shadow and outline:

It is ok. This forum has a habit of hiding posts under certain circumstances. I looked and found your reply but my post was missing. I went to another site and when I returned, so had my post!! I haven't looked at the tutorials, but I went on my experiences over the last month or two. I am not sure how much use I will ever get out of the software - it seems to be a bit of a "one trick pony". Used in moderation it will be useful. DG.

I understand what you say about effects, but you haven't shown any in your examples so the one stencil video would have sufficed. My experience with it also shows that some manipulation of speed within pte is helpful. DG
