It depends on how much editing you need to do. For basic RAW conversion both Nikon and Canon have their own free converters and both are underrated and largely ignored by users. As a long time NX2/NX-D user for Nikon RAW I could happily survive without Adobe but my need for layer based editing will keep me subscribing annually for a while longer. DG

But you have "Zero" for other parameters. Doesn't the same argument apply to them? DG
-
In O&A, it would be helpful if the Right Click Menu for the ZOOM controls included a "ZERO" setting as well as "100%" and "Original". DG
-
When you convert it takes quite a long time and the conversion takes place "out of sight". Minimise PTE and you will see the conversion taking place. When finished the original will be replaced in the slide list by the converted avi. Alternatively, right click on the original in the File List and choose Convert - the dialogue will then allow for some changes. DG
-
When you dragged it into pte were you asked if you wanted to convert the video?? Did you convert it?? DG

There is the "Suggestions for next version" section. Meanwhile (and respectfully), is it impossible to adapt to a different way of working? DG P.S. Everything that you say makes sense for your requirements. If you post these suggestions you will get a feel for how much support they will get. -

Barry is correct. You have two folders - Titles and Images - correct? If you copy and paste your titles from the titles folder to the images folder, when you then drag all images from the File List (Image Folder) to the Slide List they will be in the correct order. The Titles are effectively "Images" and the Golden Rule in PTE is to have all Images/Resources in the same Folder (wherever possible). DG -
Demo of some recent CTs: Recent CTs.ptestyle Add two images to a 16:9 Project and apply the Style. DG
-
Also look at Templating in the File Menu. Create a folder to store all of your Templates created from finished shows and then create Templates in that folder. Every show that you make can then be accessed from within PTE from a list without the need to Unzip. DG

Thanks Igor. PTE makes it so easy DG

Juddery Playback of Video on a Laptop - Could this be a solution?

No problem. Very often it depends on being creative with your search term. ☺ I will see if I can add "Export as mp4" to the text. DG -

Set up your Templating and the Zipping and Unzipping becomes unnecessary. It is the same thing! One advantage is that every show you ever made could be accessible from WITHIN PTE at a moment's notice without having to go to Explorer, Unzip the Folder and open the .pte file. https://docs.picturestoexe.com/en-us/9.0/techniques/templates?s[]=template DG

If they are from the same camera then the file name will give you date order provided that you haven't passed 9999. If they are from different cameras etc then you could batch rename using the date as the file name. DG
